The Crew Motorfest is an upcoming racing video game developed by Ubisoft Ivory Tower and published by Ubisoft for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. It will be the sequel to 2018's The Crew 2 and the third game in The Crew series, scheduled to release on September 14, 2023. As with its predecessors, the game is set in an open world environment; however, unlike the predecessors which were set in the Contiguous United States, Motorfest would be set in a scaled-down version of the Hawaiian island of Oʻahu.
The Crew Motorfest will be set in a scaled-down version of the island of Oʻahu in Hawaii. It will be themed around a festival that will serve as the main area for accessing the various events in the game, which is similar to that of the Forza Horizon series of games. Its gameplay is similar to that of the previous games in the series, featuring online multiplayer features referred to in game as a "crew", as well as being able to control vehicles other than cars such as planes and boats.

Naw, you're too chicken to do that 😉
Well I'm hoping for a build stream then!
I liked it I'm already subbed
0:50 This never gets old
Looking forward to this. I've enjoyed both Crew gamee, find them quite relaxing to wind down to; bit of music and just power around.
The announcement you can transfer your cars across from TC2 is an unexpected touch (which says a lot about the industry) but at least we've got it.
@@moondiegordr that's fair, I still keep it on hand just to wind down to. Looking forward to this for the same reason.
@@moondiegordr I mean it's 7yrs old makes sense lol
@@moondiegordr THE CREW 1 WAS WAY BETTER
I was hoping for planes to come back so I'm glad to see they're returning. I really enjoyed TC2 so I'll be trying this one out as well
Got in the closed beta, so interested to see how it goes. Thanks for your input!
Luke I really appreciate the time you take on making these fun and funny reviews. I love your channel and I especially love when you replay "Valaha" lmao 🤣
Thank you Luke!
Looking forward to this game. I'm hoping they don't just ditch the great map of United States they've created and remastered though. Hawaii is a lot smaller, so surely that means a smaller game world on their new game. Hopefully, similar to TDU2 there is an airport system to go back and forth between US & Hawaii.
Think you've missed the points of the boats and planes though. Yes, cars are by far the focus, and planes and boats are an after thought, but the point is, they're there. Offers freedom to still do what you want in the game. Chill on a boat, fly over mountains, race down roads etc. That's what the crew is about. Planes and boats may not be "great" but they're really not bad.
The crew 2 remains it's own game and will continue to be supported as stated by Ubi :) so no worries on loosing the US map
Honestly I don’t think i mind if they eventually leave usa behind. It is a ambitious idea to make entire country playable but most the time it feels bloated with too many stuff and things yes i know about filters but doesn’t really help fix the bloat problem just mask it.
I think more small scale yet massive map like Hawaiian island is more better and more accessible and hopefully they dont over stuff it with events.
I would love a remastered us with the better graphics and physics, sadly I don’t think they’ll offer that which kinda takes away the unique parts of what the crew offered :(
@@GlennQuackmire they can if they remove the boats and planes thats why tdu 2 u rarely see lots of traffic and lots of parts of the game is copy n pasted and removed and graphics decreased the crew 3 gotta be just about cars like this map is super small tdu2 maps shouldnt be bigger then this lol
I'd just love the idea of being able to go back & forth between US & Hawaii via an airport like TDU2. The US map is really what has made The Crew so good so far.
Never in my life would I have thought that I'd get excited on not only one but TWO upcoming Ubisoft games in The Crew Motorfest and Star Wars Outlaws. I will still wait for the game to release, look at genuine reviews before buying ofcourse
I think the fact that its part of the crew series just turns me off it lol
The crew looks good but outlaws doesn’t really look that good imo
I'm a racing nut and spent an immeasurable about of time into the Crew 2, at level 2300~, I'm absolutely excited to experience Hawai'i after Test Drive Unlimted.
One thing i wish we could have is the ability to purchase property and custmize that like old TDU, considering the new TDU Solar Crown only gives you a hotel.
The Assassin's Creed Valaha kills me every time. You never disappoint.
It's basically a staple in all his videos now and I love it
🤣🤣
I’m super curious about this game for several reasons. I use to live in Oahu and I’m curious how well they replicated the island. I also love Forza Horizon 5 and have hundreds of hours into it. This looks to be a straight up copy, but the formula is fun. It all boils down to how it feels to drive the cars and how they dole out the currency and rewards.
planes and boats were a thing in The Crew 2 since launch, but have always been a background vehicles
Rubberbanding is the bane of racing games.
The way they stack the difficulty is each car has a performance level that you need to upgrade with better parts to tune up your ride so if you go into a hard race with a basic car the other AI cars with suped up cars with faster top speeds and horse power etc will smoke you
3:10 If you’re driving a plane, that might be your problem. Should try flying it
I do agree that the planes and boats in this the crew specifically aren’t needed but you gotta give credit for at least having the option in a mainly car based racing game.
Good stuff!
That looks like an olympic class oceanliner lego back there.
Just glancing at the screen this could easily be mistaken for Forza Horizon. The environment, the UI, the festival elements like banners along the track.. Not saying that’s a bad thing, it just would have been nice if they went for more of a unique look.
This look was a thing in the crew 2 lol
It's literally a worse fh
@@NotSoUpstandingCitizen How exactly do you know it's worse? Damn at least it has some fun stuff to do. Forza hasn't been fun in years
Bro are you tripping?
@@LucaBattiato-lm4rnnaw all the forza games were amazing
The Crew 2 and this one would seem great if they only made the world of classic linear tracks that are fictionally made, Adventure Racing or Crusin racing games with cars boats and planes around volcanos or a oil rig during a thunder storm with crashing waves.
I was for the longest time a Need for Speed fan, and back in 2019, I discovered Forza Horizon and loved it much more. I'm thinking of giving the Crew a chance and just see how it goes from there.
In my opinion after 10 hours with the closed beta, I can say one thing, it’s a good game, not quality game, unbound is a good and quality game, forza is a good and quality game, the problem with crew is just that the physics are trying to be all things but simcade, arcade or simulator if that makes sense, there’s inconsistencies with the physics, the drift never feels good or satisfying you will try and try and but the physics are still limited, here’s the thing I was right about this game, the physics are like crew 2 but more understeer to stop the
Cars from being twitchy or feel janky, in terms of gameplay forza horizon 5 wins, story need for speed unbound wins and for sounds and variety crew motorfest wins, it’s nothing new from crew 2 it’s in many cases a more of a down grade
@carlosmartinez3020 the crew just have more variety and bigger open world. NFS obviously has the best drifts and feels faster. Forza is more authentic, has more cars, more modes, way better graphics, and mechanics are better. Forza problem is the open world and punishment it gives for crashing or knowledge about road temperature to those who don't like that. NFS speed can be a fast and furious clone to hipster title. If you want a consistent story like game to be the same for the sequel will leave you disappointed. However, NFS I'm most proud when it comes to trying new things but it's biggest disappointments imo is the lack of new contents/updates post launch. The Crew is like an all around good game. Has more replayability but like any Ubi game you can't help the post launch updates are too repetitive. All in all the crew should focus on having more players play together online at the same time than the general 4 player coop or 8 player open world pvp.
@@xxfratosxx8257 I’ve pre ordered the game, your right with crew it’s the support that it will get and the variety is off the hook in crew games, I just love the gameplay in crew motofest it’s grown on me I’ve played it none stop 17 hours and it finally clicked and I love the game so much more than forza
They kinda got rid of the only unique thing the crew had by removing the massive USA map
The racing looks cool and fluid, the flying looks more interesting than the boats to be honest. The car models looks cool though, the Nissans, Porches BMWS etc.
I’ve played Grand Turismo, it’s a pretty decent game. There’s a movie coming out next month. Should be interesting
You should try Gran Turismo on PSVR2 if you can and have not, it’s just so good
Thank you for the recommendation! I’ll give it a try
Great video, as always! The Vallaha soundboard is starting to get a little played out, though…

Its been a while that this has happen but there are 3 Ubisoft game I'm looking forward to: Star Wars Outlaws, Prince of Persia and AC Mirage.
Just be openminded and stop leaving in 2015
I got the key for motorfest and I played it for a bit. I think its great but my car is constantly braking and accelerating so the game is basically unplayable for me. I tried tinkering with the settings, playing with keyboard but It just doesnt work.
I can't help but notice something... why does The Crew Motorfest seem exactly like AC Mirage... just another DLC that was turned into a stand alone game. I mean I own The Crew 2 and have around 100+ hrs in it. I can't just unsee how this game was more than likely a dlc for TC 2. From the handling of the vehicles, to the way gravity works (cars feel heavy) and just the game engine as a whole + the UI thrown on top of it. Plus giving the fact that they will let us transfer our cars from TC2 to TC Motorfest.
Bully me if I am wrong
Probably. The gravity is still as bad as crew 2 where the cars are just glued to the ground..
You are not wrong
Seems like Ubisoft is finally getting their shit together. I hope Mirage will be the first game that shows this
I can't wait for the prequel The Dude: Motorfesting
The flight looks like you're sliding around on the air
Looks pretty neat! I might grab it, as long as they allow it all to be played offline
And patch that “complete offline” functionality into the other two The Crews
Also The Division
Also Riders Republic
And everything that should feasibly be able to be played offline in their entirely
Because that’s important
It is online only
@@NeX85 Oh I know, I'm just kinda salty about it :p
tbh they hit it right on the mark with the first one imo these sequels don’t do it justice
the crew 2 was just 5 bucks on sale on xbox and bruh wtf how did i sleep on this it’s so much fun 😂 i’m actually excited for this
i have a funny feeling i know exactly what the game is like before playing or even watching this video
looks the same as the second one lmao
@@huarenxivonne9662trash don’t even bother it’s a horizon clone Money grab
The crew 1 and 2 were made by the TDU2 devs. Glad they brought Hawaii back. But modern racing games are just not that fun. Btw, TDU Solar Crow (TDU3) is comming out this year and its a 1:1 scale of Hong Kong. I'm more excited for that.
God... these shadows. This is the constant flickering of them on the road. Sometimes it seems to me that sometimes it's better not to do something photorealistic.
Oh man what's up with the framerate? Was it captured at 24 or 30 or something?
I got into the beta test... Somehow. I played like 20 hours of it
I did actually get the closed beta today.
For the xbox series x
I played the living hell out of the first Crew-I put 400 hours into that game, making it one of my most played ever. I was very disappointed in The Crew 2 because one, the story was a massive downgrade from the first (it was virtually non-existent) and two, they didn’t have MP on release and said it’d be another SIX MONTHS before they added it. I wasn’t going to wait that long so I sold the game and moved on. I may get this one though because I really miss The Crew and the new TDU is looking kind of rough…
I will definitely be playing it 😉
How am I only finding out now that you play racing games? I've been watching your channel for a while now and had no idea you even had an interest in these types of games. I would love to see more content on these types of games if your interested in making it? Not sure what your community thinks?
part of what made the crew 1 and 2 memorable is the recreation of USA... why they didnt go for another country blows my mind.
The way I see it there are more or less just going back to their original roots some of the oldest members of ivory-tower were among Eden games the original creators of the first two test Drive Unlimited games both of which had Oahu as the setting with the second game having Ibiza in addition
Because it wasn't supposed to be a different game this was supposed to be a DLC for the crew 2
I mean driving a boat is not fluid like for a car, it's obvious that is clanky. Planes are fluid af what you mean?
i love the first 2 games
But does it supports Moza direct drive wheels
The 60fps lock on pc is what kills all interest for me, shows the limits of there engine
No way you just said only being able to play on 60 fps kills everything for this game🤦
@@mrpro7987 Console player? What's the point in having a 144hz or 240hz+ monitor if everything just gets capped to 60. 60fps cap is absolutely a non-selling point, I don't see why it's so much to ask for uncapped frames. If it runs like shit it runs like shit, just give me the option to have uncapped and drop 10s of frames at a time, it should be our choice.
@@gopnikolai7483 are you kidding me you need to be that picky about fps?😂 30 fps is fine man also fps should not be the one thing drags a game down💀💀💀
@@mrpro7987 30 fps was fine 10 years ago... if '30 fps is fine' then why a.) Do so many people complain about 30 fps? b.) Do 90% of PC players have monitors that are 120hz+? The 2 genres of game that need to be the most responsive are shooters (comp or casual) and racing games. They require quick reactions and a lot of correcting and fast changes to actions. Nobody is asking the game to run at 300 fps like a Source game, 30 fps is a joke and if you truly believe 30 fps is fine, I'm not sure what rock you've been under for the past 10-15 years.
I'll ask that question again, I guess: console player? :'(
@@gopnikolai7483 let me ask you a better question: are your eyes really that bad that you need to have 120 fps the whole time
"This game really stands out"
f I didn't know better, I would have guessed it's a Forza Horizons game from the footage.
Ubisoft's forza horizon...
Copy and paste
Got to appreciate that this one is on multiple platforms right?
With more customization, more vehicle variety, freedom and a better map
As a ps5 player this is a win.
But bad
0:54 please never stop doing that
That running animation looks like it's from GTA3
Why waste time on planes and boats when they could've added guns to the cars? That would help with the rubberbanding NPCs.
At 6:11 why does it sound like he's saying "there's going to be more racism playlists available"😂😂
It’s “racing and playlists” but yeah it does sound like that because he says it so fast. 😂
Honestly the Crew is incredibly underwhelming now. The old story in the original game was amazing to me, with a pretty interesting storyline and a natural progression of unlocks, but was completely abandoned for this weird Forza/GranTurismo-like “story” of Crew 2 which is almost nonexistent. It’s more of a “turn your brain off and play” type of racing game. Not taking place in Continental America feels wrong for the series at this point.
It feels like another time I’m going to shake my head after launch thinking it’s another series and IP that Ubisoft doesn’t deserve
Are you planning on doing a video on the upcoming Forza Motorsport reboot?
It will be forgotten very fast after release.
I really respect you being honest instead of over hyping the game like 99% of people talking about this game.

Cmon, there were no settings? You should know if its xbox or pc
The framerate looks to be 17fps in some clips the sent you...
I'm waiting for the Assassin's... Creed Vlaha bit to get old but it's still funny
I play racing games as a cool off from comp games or grindy single players so I’m not that great but I’m not going to lie.. I think it’s just a skill issue and not the ai. Tho I didn’t play the game so I have no room to speak.
6:53 they had higher speed because they are using the turbo and you are not. lol (don't know WHY) lol
The crew2 already had the plane and boat feature
Can Ubisoft please release even 1 really good game in this modern era? The best thing they seem to have upcoming is Starwars Outlaws and even that looks like it will be 7/10 or 8/10
Origins and Odyssey are pretty good
Already predicting review scores, maybe you're the problem 😂
@@ZeppelinNL I'm predicting my own personal review scores based on how I felt about the trailer.
@@ZeppelinNL lol people like being miserable
Some of your game stream got really choppy at times, was that how it really performed? I'd imagine Ubisoft would have ensured that the PC's being streamed from could handle the game. Otherwise, they would have been better off streaming it off of a PS5 or Xbox Series X where the game performs at a perfect 60fps.
Game footage looks really choppy. Not sure if that’s just the footage you got or what
Probably won’t check this one out but I have been looking at that new NFS game in gamepass with the weird cartoon animations, I’m curious if they pull it off or if it’s just annoying
The planes and boats were in The Crew 2 as well which probably makes it worse lmao
There was a Crew 2? its like my brain automatically switches off to anything ubisoft, to the point where I don't even notice their releases anymore. Holy shit... remember when assassins creed was at one point being released every single year? it was something wild like 6 or 7 years in row that we got a new asscreed game, like a damn FIFA or Madden game wtf
Can you not pick a car of your choosing for a race? I keep hearing you're forced to drive a pre selected car, and the one you upgrade, is just for open world driving.
0:41 Well, whatever influences say must be true.
The game is good for me, but it still far apart for having “The Crew” title, the first one felt like having a crew with online people. But hey, motorfest is better than the second
I'm actually HAPPY that the boats and planes suck, they were too much of a focus in The Crew 2, made the cars feel pointless. Car customization is also more in depth. Yeah 1 is still the best

@@Wesscoastt Common Ubisoft L then.
Ubisoft seriously needs to do something about the nature graphics in their games. They are nauseatingly flat. They also reflect the light in very weird ways, and lack proper shadowing.
Map seems superficial, lacks the look and feel of Hawaii. As though Hawaii is just a backdrop to the races.
how is this different from The Crew 2 ?
All I see, is a smaller map for more money 😂
I'm sorry but the only version of Oahu I want to drive on it's the one in Test Drive Unlimited. This just looks like a cartoonish mashup of a past idea and a Forza Horizon map.
Thats why they have nitro to put the car in a faster boost 🙄🤦🏽♂️

Im a little sad, I have been looking forward to a game like The Crew 1, I personally was never a fan of the vehicle in the Crew 2.
But who knows, maybe it will be decent.
For People comparing this to Forza Horizon and saying it's a clone, remember that forza franchise was totally inspired by Test Drive Unlimited (2006) which was developed by the same guys who have been working on The Crew Motorfest.
So yeah it's not necessarily a clone but they both have similarities ( Festival theme...)
It can't be a clone, ubisoft isn't capable of creating something as high quality as FH5. Look at how many games they have in production, its an absolutely ridiculous list, they never let their games cook for long enough. They also just cut and paste so many of their systems to the point where most of their games feel like the same game just with a different flavour poured over the top.
People assume that any and every racing game is a copy of forza for some reason
@@Perjoss
Ubisoft is an international worldwide company with over 20k employees so think about it, as a ceo or whatever, you are forced to release Assassin's Creed, Far Cry... Every year or two (with approximately 3 years of development using the same Ubisoft formula) regardless of the final state of the game (usually from decent to great game). Otherwise you go bankrupt.
The only solution is to fire some employees and reconstruct the whole company from scratch in order to make balance and have the ability to innovate, which is nearly impossible.
I will finish this with a question: if Ubisoft is bad that much, then why the hell praise games like Dying Light, Horizon and Ghost of Tsushima, Spiderman? (Which are basically Ubisoft games that took longer to develop)
Someone would come up to me and say " well because they're better", my answer and without biasing is simply no.
Okay I'm gonna be a little crazy here but imagine this:
I'm the ceo, I've screwed up the whole company so tomorrow I'm naming you @perjoss the new ceo, head of the heads. What would you do?
