I’m trying figure out how to make a gemstone tree but the base needs some weight to it so it doesn’t fall over for my mini trees now I’m wonder if I buy a silicone mold for the base can I use plaster will it come out the mold ? And we can paint it etc to give the mo ur tree more realistic look
Hi! Hmm I'm trying to visualize your project! It sounds awesome! 😁 Plaster is very light weight so it might now work if you are looking for a heavy base to hold something up. Did you want to send me a visual of your trees or a drawing and I might be able to help think of a different base? Are you able to glue the trees to something?
Hi Shelli, you could use cement but you may have a rougher surface to work on. Typically if I'm putting these outside I coat them with a layer of resin after I finish painting them this gives it weather protection 😊
Thanks for the demonstration. Do you do prepare the mold before adding the liquid?
Hi! No the silicone is great for not sticking so the plaster pops right out! 😁
Oh my god I neeeed these I have only ever found a perfect stone once!!!!
Haha right?! This makes life so much easier when you can just create exactly what you want! 😁
The diamond one would be great to pour the prisme in
You are so right! I'll have to try that 😁

Did you ever do a painting on the diamond shape? I love the shape but as a newbie can't think how dotting on all the facets would turn out
Hi Sheila, haha not yet! I am having the same dilemma as to how to paint it well with a unique design, if I paint it I will let you know 😊
Did you have to base coat with something specific? I bought the same brand but its called perfect plaster for pottery and ceramics
If you want to put them outside in your garden wont the rain make them deteriorate ? Would putting cement in them instead keep them solid.?

Can you mix plaster of paris with stone powder?
Hi! I haven't done it but I would think they are a very similar gypsum type product and might work 😊 sounds like a great experiment! 😉😁
Merci !! 🙏🙏🌸
You are most welcome! 💕🤗
What kind of plaster is being used??
Hi Lori! I have the name of the plaster in the description below the video along with a link to it on Amazon 😁
