    I see that you use the amazing rubber mold mix, why rubber and not silicone? Thanks for sharing!

    • @RocktasticArts
      @RocktasticArts  3 года назад +1

      The silicone stinks way too much for me to be able to work with it indoors, the one I used has no smell.

    So can you put this rock outside without it deteriorating from the rain?

    • @RocktasticArts
      @RocktasticArts  3 года назад

      Yes of course you can but make sure you seal it well first

    How many boxes of the amazing mold for that size rock? Love you taking the time to show us.

      My pleasure Lilliam... I think it’s safe to say that you can do two to three rock molds out of every box of the amazing mold ... thanks for watching 😊

    Question: is the gypsum hard enough to drill or carve?

    • @RocktasticArts
      @RocktasticArts  3 года назад

      Yes it is, but you need to wait until it dries completely, might take two weeks or more

  • @Jodysfunstuff
    @Jodysfunstuff 4 года назад +1

    Isn’t the gypsum pretty fragile if you drop it it will break or chip? I had that happen when using plaster of Paris.

    • @RocktasticArts
      @RocktasticArts  4 года назад

      Plaster of Paris is very very fragile. Gypsum is way much more stronger than Plaster of Paris, I actually read that Gypsum is 3 times stronger than concrete.

      Oh really? I read cement is for outdoors but gypsum is for interior only. Still a good video

    About how long do you mix the pink and white?
    Is it slightly pale pink when done stirring?

    • @RocktasticArts
      @RocktasticArts  4 года назад +1

      Yes it is pale pink, and there is a time on the box that you have to mix for... I always do two minutes extra just so that I’m on the safe side

    What glitter (and how much) do u add to make the stone sparkle like a Santorini?

    • @RocktasticArts
      @RocktasticArts  4 года назад +1

      I use a white shiny mica powder (I bought it at the dollar store makeup section lol) and I lightly brush the inside of the mold

    • @margiebrody954
      @margiebrody954 4 года назад +1

      Brilliant! Good to know I dont have to mix it in the cement! Thank you!!

      @RocktasticArts  4 года назад +1

      No don’t do that, I did that at the beginning using regular glitter and it was very rough and bumpy, it was a disaster lol

    Can you use cement to make a rock in this mold?

    • @RocktasticArts
      @RocktasticArts  3 года назад

      I haven’t tried but I don’t see why not, I use gypsum which is just as hard... thanks for watching

    How long will these molds last?

    • @RocktasticArts
      @RocktasticArts  3 года назад

      3 years now and counting, they’re very sturdy, you need to make sure you are making them thick enough though. Three layers of silicone is good enough, one layer, leave it dry, next layer, leave it dry again, then do the last layer. Hope that helps.

    please tell me where you ordered the small rock (6) stone mold at?

    • @RocktasticArts
      @RocktasticArts  4 года назад +1

      I made all the molds in this video the same way shown in the video ... I put 7 rocks together in a tin box and covered them with the mold making solution, then I had a mold that makes 7 small rocks... I even make my own santorini rocks now, I made a mold of a santorini rock so I can keep making my own santorinis 💕
