How perfect! Funny enough I am also making a mould of an egg cup. Slightly different use as I make cement vessels for my hand poured candles. The egg cup compliments my larger vessel shape perfectly. Thank you for showing your process! Second cup as a mould brace was brilliant!
Hi my dear friend, just found this video of you making the mould. Wow Lou, that is great, I'm going to have a go at making a mould, of what I don't know at the moment, but you have made it look like fun. Probably 3 dishes for my orchid pots, hum!. Many thanks my friend 😘 love your art, and you too.
Thank you so much my lovely. Mould making is quite addictive and it really is lots of fun. You will be looking at everyday items with a new eye and wondering if you can make a mould of them.
Lovely! I use molds very similar to this. For me, something else you can do is instead of a plastic cup you can put two or three rubber bands around your mold, and it works really well.
Hello I have a puffco peak I need to make a silicone boot for it cause mine is getting tore up was a gift. I am wondering how to safely make a mold using silicone as the item I am trying to copy? I don't wanna destroy my only part there is no replacements and don't want to spend like 200 bucks for another device. Any tips I want to make a silicone mold of silicone basically and not accidentally ruin by fusing more to the original silicone part.

Yes Play-Doh is a brand of kids putty that smells funky and taste salty yes I said taste. When I was a kid I thought it was edible and found out quick it wasn't hahaha. I'm from the US, a state called Maine and we have Play-Doh brand in our country as well as Canada I do believe
Ah now I see. Well, I haven’t tried it but it has to be worth a try. Try making a tiny one first, then you won’t waste much silicone if it is a disaster. I find that children’s play clay gets very fragile and cracked if it is left to dry so I would try doing it with soft, fresh clay first. Anything is worth trying, it’s the best way to learn.
This is SO helpful!! Thank you for posting this technique!

That's great! It looks pretty easy to make a mold. I might have to try that sometime. It would be an interesting skill to learn.

Thank you Brian. My original plan was to use rubber bands but I couldn’t find them so I came up with the cup idea.

Put a "personal massager" against the outside of the mold and the bubbles will race to the top and out of the mold.
