@Misha : Push the back button on the left side of the steering wheel to remove the warning text in the instrument cluster, so you can see speed, boost, engine temperature or tyre pressures (if you still had the TPMS sensors in the track wheels)
I recommend you hold the 'Lane keep assist' button to turn it off fully. After the last few track days in my GR I found while over the ripple strips the car would try and turn me onto the grass or into a wall because it thinks you have gone out your lane. I have seen in some of your previous videos that you had the GR try and turn you towards the wall, and this would be what was causing that. 😊
Thanks for the explanation laps, I admit I spent more time watching the dash than the view, I've got over 6,000km's on my GR Yaris but most of them have been done by my nephew, only thing he doesn't like about the car is how often he's asked if he wants to sell it, Rj in Oz
Hey Misha, Those bikes that have constantly spinning pedals and wheel in the same time are called fixed gear or fixie. Basically they are track bikes that you can see on velodrome or on the streets. ✌🏻

My mom's Yaris can beat this Yaris on two points, fuel consumption and electric drive distance. On the fun part however, not so much...
Nice video explaining everything & enjoying the track! PS Turning lane assist completely off is a long “very long” hold on the button on the steering wheel
My experience is the Yaris is an amazing track car. Incompetent drivers would struggle to get into trouble with all the aids on. You have to be a complete hooligan, by most people standards, to get it to move around with them switched off, even in the wet.
Your driving line is so smooth, it's a pleasure for me to look, how you fly over the ring ❣️ I'm not a expert, but i enjoy it 😁 Love from Berlin, Ramsi 😘
The engine is amazing in itself but it's the AWD system in itself in combination with the core suspension design into the rigid shell from factory that basically makes the GR Yaris what it is today. You gonna need more then the engine to get the real deal you see from GR Yaris videos
There's a GR Corolla coming soon. From what I've read it is supposed to come to North America, and it'll have that same engine (in even slightly more powerful version). AWD and manual are also there ofc.
VSC is only off if you stand still doing the long press. It's in the manual. I have one of those. For when one is new to the car: expert mode is good!!!
@@magnus-thome hey Magnus, but is it really fully off? I think it only shows off but it is still a little bit on. It was the case in Misha's previous videos also.
@@MT-eb2dx Yes, the text "expert" dissapears and it is all off, I've tested this thoroughly on tracks 😁 and also ice lake driving. Okay most of the times I long press while in the pits but sometimes I forget and have to do it while out on the track. I'm at 25000km with mine now. Ps: ruclips.net/user/magnusthome-rejsanuvideos
@@MT-eb2dx After the "expert" dissapeared there was no problem. Only collision warning appeared (just a warning, collision avoidance not active) It's all in the manual but people are confuzed because they don't read the manuals.
Hey Misha I have a question regarding yesterday's video: is it possible to join a MR Trackday with an old air cooled vw beetle with the same engine as a 356?
It wasn't too complicated or boring. Have you considered doing another snow bike ride while trying to explain mechanical over-rev? Pancake can follow on foot with one of those medical kits or a Swiss rum barrel.
My experience with this car: you can get into pretty trouble with all systems on (sorry Tammy) How peope mis-shift this thing is beyond me, it might have the best FWD/AWD transmission I ever handled. What this vehicle needs is a slower steering rack because it is too twitchy for my liking.
Car sounds angry :v Bike analogy was fine but it's always gonna be hard to explain those things to someone who doesn't understand the difference between electronic and manual shifting. Long story short would have been 'The car can protect itself from damage when it's computer is involved in the decision making process (electronic throttle and automatic/tiptronic transmission), but it can't do so when your input is purely analog (mechanical throttle and manual transmission).' That being said, my 1st gen BMW 1er was reeeally hard to downshift if the revs weren't in the happy mid-low range, while in every other case it was smooth as butter, and other forms of mechanical protection for manual transmission cars should be possible.
You day the Yaris GR doesn't need more power, but the white bmw was easily walking away from you. What is it then that your Yaris gr needed to avoid that?
@Misha : Am I crazy for wanting a GR Yaris or GR Corolla if I already have a 400+ HP BMW M340i xDrive? ( I would be selling the 340i to get the GR) Cheers Don, Perth W.Australia (Dons Shed and Xplor Overland)
How wide are the rims that are paired with those 265 tires on the Yaris? I'm looking at running the same width on my Acura for some back road/canyon/mountain pass fun here in Canada, and can't decide on a wheel width. I figure hey, if the fitment is good enough for Apex taxis on the Nurburgring, it'll probably be good enough for my needs.
Mis shifting is when you select a low gear like 2 instead of 4 and it forces the revs to go way to high in the red having the engine screaming and some cases blow it to bits because the revs are way to high for that gear the bike thing you talk about doesn't make sense
Since the video shows the track and cluster all the time, I can't help but notice how plain the custer looks. The gauges are literally silk screen printed on plain black plastic, that makes them look really cheap. I have to commend Toyota on one hand for making this car in this day and age, but they could spice up the cluster a bit more, since it's the one thing on the car you look at the most when you are driving. It's a bit dull and reminds me of a 2000 Toyota, not a 2020 car. It doesn't have to be a full digital one like the Supra, but they could add some minor elements to make it look better.

I think they mentioned they don't anymore in a video, thats why it's showing a warning light too
I can still remove it on mine. But i dont know if there has been any software updates for it after my last service
@@TiyamatFTL Yeah the warning lights will always be on. But you can get the normal center display if you do.

My opinion? I need to "borrow" the car for some laps when I come next year.
Why is the Lane assist icon on the dash red? Is it broken?
The sticker on the windshield is blocking the sensor for it!

Why does the hazard come on when you brake?
When you break heavy it alerts the person behind you by blinking them with hazards. It’s a cool feature but probable not for track
