    Thanks, was just about to give up after hours of research. First method worked for me and have yet to fly but props finally turned. Heading to North Western Australia with it tomorrow so hope this is the last of the problems.

    What does it mean if the link button won't blink? I've tried holding it down for ten seconds and it's always on steady.

    Holy shit I may as well be working a Microsoft windows drone. 9 times out of 10 this $500 P.O.S. wont work. So glad you made it as complicated as possible for the working man.

    I'm still having problem with image view on my phantom 3 standard because of firmware 1.9.00 update, unfortunately dji go app doesn't work for me because the update disabled also my SD slot, there is no more little led blinking on camera hardware, any more solution you can provide ? Thanks

    These phantoms are such a pain in the arse when they don't work because of some firmware issue.I have lost count on the amount of hours i have researched various problems.Either no signal for the camera,the rc won't link,firmware won't update etc etc .The list just goes on and on and i must say i am really starting to regret my purchase of the phantom 3.I have the 4 too and at the moment that is working well until the next firmware update i suppose.

    controller beeps like succes and shows green but ac linking light stays solid red

    So I have the phantom 3 advanced drone but I've just picked up a phantom 3 standard controller would I be able to link the standard controller with the phantom 3 advanced

      Sorry, Paula, they are not compatible with each other, so it doesn't support linking the Phantom 3 Standard RC to a Phantom 3 Adv drone. Thank you for your inquiry.

    For some reason my controller has a green/red light making a white light and does not charge my phone or connect to drone idk what to do

      Hello there! We are sorry for the inconvenience caused. Could you confirm the model of the mobile device used? And please follow the steps below, take note if there are error messages, or upload a short video of the linking procedure publicly to Google Drive or Dropbox and provide us with the shareable link. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
      1. Turn on the aircraft and press the Link Button with objects that have point ends. The button will blink red when the aircraft is ready to link.
      2. Power on the remote controller, turn the gimbal dial to the bottom, and toggle the S2 switch back and forth quickly for at least three times. You will hear a D-D-D beep sound when the remote controller is trying to link to the aircraft. The remote controller will stop beeping, and the Link Button on the aircraft will turn solid green if linking is successful.

      Well I updated the controller first because I didn't get a card reader so I had to pay for one so my DJI Phantom 3 Advanced now works. And when is the next firmware update coming out?

    Just got my P3 delivered. Un-packed it and it didn't work. The controller would not link to Drone. Spent an hour with customer support, still did not get it working.
    They told me to ship it back. Maybe I should have went with the Parrot.

    Took shipment on phantom 4 pro yesterday. It's back in the box to return to seller. No wifi. Called DJI support. They walked me through troubleshooting. Result; Drone must be returned. This is bad I have a big photoshoot tomorrow and two drones down. Phantom 3 Standard is on the way back in for repairs. Only drone I have left to do the shoot is my Spark.

      Hi, there. Sorry to hear about this. For the connecting problem, please check what the app says. If the app said the aircraft disconnected, please try to relink the drone and RC, but if the app showed disconnected, that meant the app hadn't connected to the RC, try to reconnect by rebooting the app or plugging the cable again. Hope this helps.

    Update 2.8 made my P3S into a brick.... I can't get mine to link at all ...
    anyone have any clues as how to possibly remedy this? (( i do have a ticket into DJI support but they just sent me here))

    I sent mine to DJI. They charged me $113 and sent it back still not working. They even lost my camera dust cover.

      Drone was working fine. Flew it 3 times when i got a message on the app saying i needed to do a firmware update. i did the update and the drone has not worked since. just flashes red,green,yellow. Remote is solid green. App says disconnected. i mailed it to Dji, they sent it back to me still not working. i've been email them, but they have offered no support, they just keep sending me a customer satisfaction survey. i have reinstalled the firmware, reinstalled the app, and manually reconnected the remote. nothing has helped. i'm taking it to a 3rd party repair shop next week and disputing the charge for the repair through pay pal since they clearly did not fix anything.

      Thanks for getting back to us. I've checked your case, the drone has been replaced at that time. Would you mind helping us verify the current status?
      1. Generally, the LED flashes red, green and yellow alternatively means the drone is doing self-diagnostic. You may wait a certain of time and see the color.
      2. For the grey disconnected, it refers to the connection between the mobile device and RC, you may try to reinstall the APP or change to another recommended mobile device, then reconnect with the WiFi to verify whether it works.
      3. Regarding the dust cover, pre-checking with the local team, we're sorry that they are not available now, sincerely apologize for this.
      4. As for the survey, it was sent by the system automatically, please ignore it if the issue has not been figured out. Thanks for your understanding.

      1. I have let the drone self-diagnose for up to 6 hours without it ever going to the ready status.
      2. I have done ALL of these things more then once.
      3. Then you should pay for me to buy a new from a 3rd party. $15.
      4. It was NOT sent automatically. It was a link included in a email from someone named Welkins (Support) and
      Sebastian (Support) after I told them that reconnecting the RC did not work.
      You haven't answered the most important question. Why did you return it to me if it was still not working?
      By the way. Welkins and Sebastian have stopped responding to me. So pay pal and the BBB are my next steps.

    I finally solved my Phantom 3 advanced connection problem:
    First, the problem: My Remote Control led light was stuck on ''CYAN'' color. My remote wasn't connecting to the drone. The drone was flashing yellow and the DJI go app didn't show the "camera" button, it only showed "How to connect". So I found a way on the internet to solve it:
    "Found the solution!! with the remote plugged in, go to the DJI go app and when you get to the screen that shows your device and says "how to connect" at the bottom, press the 3 horizontal bars at the top for 5 seconds and let go. a screen will pop up and ask you which version of the firmware you want to load. the 1.8 didn't work. the 1.6 version did. Once it started loading the light turned blue and did everything it was supposed to will firmware was updating. I turn off the app and turned on the drone and remote and pugged back into the device. once I did that the app was able to see my remote but, it still requested a firmware update tp 1.9.. I did that and it was successful. it then said my drone and remote were still disconnected. so I followed the steps I've seen in so many videos (and on this post) to reconnect. I held down the c1, c2 and c3 buttons until I heard a beep. then I pressed the right wheel a couple of seconds the light started blinking blue and I pressed the restart with my tool. the drone light next to the restart starts blinking red and then turns green and so does the remote."

    This doesn't work. Nobody knows what to do when it doesn't work. I can buy a $19 quad and the controller will link to the drone every time...why not dji??

    when i turn on my dji phantom 3 standard will automatically convert to no positioning atti and on my remote the swithch on p mode

Please try to update the firmware for your aircraft and the remote controller then try it again, you are recommended to choose an outdoor open area where the GPS is good and no magnetic interference to try the flight.     I recieved a USB cord with my Phantom 3 that does not fit the RC. There is a small slot on both my phone and the RC... so, how can I connect to activate? And
    P.S. Your hold music I've been listening to for the last half hour SUCKS.

      I got it!! It wasn't the cable, it was the connection. I had to connect it to its own internet.

    This process does not work. I have had two phantom 3 standards in the last four days. Both new out of the box. Have followed all instructions regarding firm ware updates, app and manual inking etc. numerous times. NOTHING worked. DJI support said the problem was with the drone on the first one. I returned it and bought another new one yesterday. Same isusues. Two duds back to back?! Seriously?! To boot tech support is offline! Back to Staples today... I think this product line is a dead end. If DJI doesn't help soon it's time to start researching the competition. I am usually quite patient with consumer issues and allow the systems to takes it's course but this consumer has finally hit a wall. Someone must want my money and loyalty... DJI doesn't seem to.

      Thanks but I finally made contact with DJI support. Both new drones had to go back for either repair or replacement. Fair enough but as a consumer I didn't want to wait 4 to 6 weeks. If it comes new out of the box these things should work. I know many people are happy with their DJI's. I am not condemning them all. It's just mine did not work.I would rather have been flying than trouble shooting in my shop. Thank you to your support desk for finally getting to me. Sorry this did not work out.
