From the comments here it would seem people can't read. I've got a Phantom 3 standard that came with a basic instruction manual. Downloaded the complete manual from DJI with the link they provided in the box which explains everything in detail if you can read. Been flying 1 month now without issue, everything perfect and I completely understand all the functions and systems. Passed the FAA Part 107 test and am flying for money thanks.

Yeah but what i wanted to know was, how the sticks work, like the right stick does that move it left to right and if so how ? Reason im asking this is because im very new to these an just got one, tried to fly it and it crashed. It only crashed like 5ft off the ground into an object, but it seemed like when i pushed right on the right stick it tilted to my left, perhaps it was backwards i have no clue... I understand if the drone is in reverse of my then right may cause it to go left, but is this what happened ?? Just wondering if anyone could help, thanks!

Hello , my V1.1.1 ghost lights red in control, the Internet most I saw were also red , but some friends have informed me green too, even has a friend of mine who has a same as mine , but the light comes on green. My control is with fresh batteries , regular works with the drone , but would like to know the difference! The firmware of my phantom is with version 4.02 , and has an update for version 6.4 available, should I do it ? Some told me that some updates contained errors and were knocking down drones , something went wrong, things like that. I thank you and I'm waiting .

Hi Just received my new Phantom 3s. Ofter returning the craft to the supplier once this week i now have a new problem, binding the RC to the aircraft. Ive tried all the processors to get the binding activated but to no avail. Any ideas, much appreciated. Chris

My transmitter appears to be in CE mode does anyone know how to put it into FCC mode please? On the reverse there is only 1 hole with a screwdriver symbol next to it in the bottom left hand corner. Although it has the symbol there is no adjustment screw on the circuit board underneath, nor is there any sign of anything on the board that looks like it could be adjusted.
+david webber I contacted support and they said that the mode is set based on the country they ship to. If you are not in the U.S. it will be in CE mode.
it doesn't need to be connected with a wire to your phone. you connect it with the drone's wi fi. I hear you though. this thing is complicated and instructions aren't very clear. I've had to look all over the internet to find some answers to questions I have and still haven't flown it. lol

All I've done so far was update the firmware, calibrated this and that and did a few things in the simulator but I'm still not sure about flying it yet cuz there's so much to learn. you are probably shooting in 2.7k... its looks wayvy because its too much resolution for your phone. try playing the same clip in a 4k tv. or simply just shoot it 1080
+Alejandro Jimenez for his phone hahahahaha the sansumg s6 has 16 mega pixels and is UHD what you need to do us take out the sd card of the phantom camera and put it to your phone you dont have HD because the phone only records what you are transmiting for example you lost signal stops recording but the camera of the drone is recording even if it signal is like if you record something from tv and you lost signal but the show the person of the Dish, direct tv etc... Has the original video is the same with the drone and your phone

Hi all, just wanted to let you know about an issue i had with the p3std rc, in the case it wont bind to your craft and resetting the wifi only results in red and green blinking light forever, you have a defective rc transmitter. DJI covers it under warranty if you are within the 1 year period.

Thank you for reply. No improvement. I'm sending my Phantom 3 Standard to Netherlands for service today. It must be some kind of error. I had nearly 500m flight distance and 200m altitude (countryside) before this situation occurred. I will let you know of the outcome. I heard that more users had the same problem. Adam.
i never upgrade my firmware from unboxing, so it can be fly about 600metres, and make sure you dont activate the beginner mode, it can be made the aircraft fly between 30-50metres only
Thanks for advice Iman. I have checked everything before I contacted DJI support. Beginner mode was off. I should have record a video to show this strange thing. Imagine you fly your drone and it losing the signal after 30-100m... than Return To Home..again and again.. It is very frustrating. I was trying to fix the problem by restarting, calibrating and changing the batteries but nothing helped. It started at the beginning of june during my holiday in Lithuania. I did not have any problems before. I'm really impressed by the video quality of P3S and this is the best ''toy'' I ever had. My drone will be in Netherlands tomorrow (UPS) and I hope the guys will find a solution. Adam.

I can't get mine to hook up to the remote to controller like it said. Mine was good at first but it didn't seem to work my camera so I followed what he said about holding one button down for several seconds and then flip the left switch 3 times. So after trying to do that the reset button was green and not red like its supposed to be. I then pushed it even though it was green and then it turned red flashing so I did it all over again and now I cant get it to turn on the moters. FUCK!!! Any help guy's?

Xavier Roberts that's not a drawback at all. They should pay people fluent in the language they are addressing to create and read the script... just like every other company on the planet does. I'll do it for a couple bucks a video. Cmon, this is just laughable lazy nonsense. Leaving out the "little words" like "a", "the", or "an" and using acronyms in every sentence is super frustrating. It's like they are addressing a room of experts, in a beginners video. lol. Lame.
Funny that quick guide didnt mention anything about calibration between control and copter also its bit funny that tutorial video is not helping with right corner switch. p mode and non GPS mode and 3rd one what is something? For the price the manual is really giving limited info.

nvm I figured it out, it's actually really easy, you change it on the DJI go app. Find the internet symbol, I think it's 2nd from the bottom, and in there you'll see where you can change it.
it would be better with someone who talked like a normal person. I just wanted the 15 seconds where it says how to activate the RTH. can DJI not even try to tell you you are gonna need to figure out how to fly in atti mode sooner or later
Overall, the Standard is a great drone. One draw back that is unfortunate tho is the phone mounted holder. It is very wobbly and is not big enough to hold a tablet. DJI Support, what is the deal? You all know this is like 1/3 of the information that new users need and there's absolutely no coverage of the different modes, what they can and cannot do, and how the user should interact with these modes in the cellphone application. This blatant negligence will lead to first-time flyers ditching the instruction booklet thinking they know "enough" to mess with these settings while flying and it will surely cause injuries and property damage. Do your damn job and quit posting half-ass videos.
what the hell is RC, RTH, IOC, all you see on the remote is s2 and s1 and should be the other way around. your instructions are lauzy man. specify these switches and calibrations better, your videos are robots.
Daniel G. If you are buying a drone with the capability of causing such damage as one of these then really you should be doing plenty of research first anyway before the flight. Learn your stuff, then have a go. I personally think there videos are quite helpful

You don't have to some will already come linked. So your probably fine. I didn't have to link mine either

tested with nexus 6p and same result. its not the phone, the 6p came out at the end of 2015 lol
You have to move your phone into Aircraft mode first. Then turn WiFi back on to link to Phantom3 wifi.

I am losing RC signal at very short range. (30m-70m distance). I have checked everything.WiFi OK, Calibration OK, no crashes. PHANTOM 3 Standard. I have this drone for one month. Any ideas?
Thank you for reply. No improvement. I'm sending my Phantom 3 Standard to Netherlands for service today. It must be some kind of error. I had nearly 500m flight distance and 200m altitude (countryside) before this situation occurred. I will let you know of the outcome. I heard that more users had the same problem. Adam.
i never upgrade my firmware from unboxing, so it can be fly about 600metres, and make sure you dont activate the beginner mode, it can be made the aircraft fly between 30-50metres only
Thanks for advice Iman. I have checked everything before I contacted DJI support. Beginner mode was off. I should have record a video to show this strange thing. Imagine you fly your drone and it losing the signal after 30-100m... than Return To Home..again and again.. It is very frustrating. I was trying to fix the problem by restarting, calibrating and changing the batteries but nothing helped. It started at the beginning of june during my holiday in Lithuania. I did not have any problems before. I'm really impressed by the video quality of P3S and this is the best ''toy'' I ever had. My drone will be in Netherlands tomorrow (UPS) and I hope the guys will find a solution. Adam.
Dji produce the new firmware thats follow faa requirement, fly safe under 150, thats related to our aircraft with the newest firmware

Question-- is it possible to use 2 remote controllers with the Phantom 3 Standard-- one remote controller at launch site, one controller at landing site, to ensure unbroken signal? Has anyone ever tried to use 2 different P3 Standard remote controllers at the same time?

RTH means Return To Home
If you don't know what RTH means and you own a phantom 3, you should not be near a GPS quadcopter. Stick to toy grade

I keep trying to change my default password and it will say restart so I do that but it isn't sticking it goes back to the default anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

I can't get mine to hook up to the remote to controller like it said. Mine was good at first but it didn't seem to work my camera so I followed what he said about holding one button down for several seconds and then flip the left switch 3 times. So after trying to do that the reset button was green and not red like its supposed to be. I then pushed it even though it was green and then it turned red flashing so I did it all over again and now I cant get it to turn on the moters. FUCK!!! Any help guy's?

Xavier Roberts that's not a drawback at all. They should pay people fluent in the language they are addressing to create and read the script... just like every other company on the planet does. I'll do it for a couple bucks a video. Cmon, this is just laughable lazy nonsense. Leaving out the "little words" like "a", "the", or "an" and using acronyms in every sentence is super frustrating. It's like they are addressing a room of experts, in a beginners video. lol. Lame.
What is IOC as well? They speak as if these terms are universal.
IOC mean Inteligent Orentation Control
You use it for:Point Of Intrest, Waypoints ect.

nvm I figured it out, it's actually really easy, you change it on the DJI go app. Find the internet symbol, I think it's 2nd from the bottom, and in there you'll see where you can change it.

Overall, the Standard is a great drone. One draw back that is unfortunate tho is the phone mounted holder. It is very wobbly and is not big enough to hold a tablet. Sorry but so wrong. Do NOT use thumbs to control your craft. Use thumb and forefinger, much smoother and much more accurate control.
Got mine the other day and still haven't flown it. Spent one whole day trying to upgrade Filmwear wondering why should you have to upgrade a new drone, Come to fine out I didn't, No Manual with drone is piss poor. you cam download it but why not include it, That's bull crap.
It's incredibly common now for electronics to not come with a full printed manual since they're always available online.

DJI Support, what is the deal?
You all know this is like 1/3 of the information that new users need and there's absolutely no coverage of the different modes, what they can and cannot do, and how the user should interact with these modes in the cellphone application. This blatant negligence will lead to first-time flyers ditching the instruction booklet thinking they know "enough" to mess with these settings while flying and it will surely cause injuries and property damage. Do your damn job and quit posting half-ass videos.
what the hell is RC, RTH, IOC, all you see on the remote is s2 and s1 and should be the other way around. your instructions are lauzy man. specify these switches and calibrations better, your videos are robots.
Daniel G. If you are buying a drone with the capability of causing such damage as one of these then really you should be doing plenty of research first anyway before the flight. Learn your stuff, then have a go. I personally think there videos are quite helpful
