    Lovely lathe action. I do love working with brass, but hate the mess it creates. 👏👏👍😀

      Brass gets bloody everywhere but it is quite satisfying. I think I need to get myself some properly cut tools for various materials, I always end up using the same bits and I'm sure that doesn't help.

    Great lathe work, this was fun to watch thanks. We use exactly the same method for cutting threads on a lathe, it is impressive to see people do it powered. We have a good selection of imperial taps/die, drill and reamers, drop us a note if you need to borrow something for times when you do not feel is is worth buying one

      Oh that's very kind of you, thank you for the offer - I think in this case I want to prove to myself that I can adapt the design and everything else works OK - but I really do appreciate the offer!
      I have occasionally cut threads with a tap on the lathe under power - in theory with brass it should be fine, but I only ever do it on a through hole. Into a blind hole seems like madness!
