- I got a lot of requests to make Poplins playable in Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and that led me to discovering just how easy certain types of Wonder character mods are to make.

It'd be cool if there were the tools to make the poplins flower bloom when using the parachute cap.
indeed, it's actually already possible to do that with current tools, I tried myself but I don't entirely understand how those types of animations work

I like the voice acting for the poplins, as they sound like the original voice direction for toads.
Overall, poplins are just the toads of the flower kingdom. They seem to be able to traverse like them too, so I don't see why they aren't end game characters. Especially because there is the master poplin, and it would be a good way to add more "toad colors" without adding the toads themselves.
That would be a cool reward for beating the game. I'm always a fan of unlockable characters.
I was honestly surprised Poplins never ended up playable. Considering how ubiquitous the Toads are, it'd make sense to have their petal-based counterparts join the fun.
if a mario wonder 2 ever releases, i can probably see them being playable as extra characters (just like blue and yellow toad is in the mainline games)

@@promaster424 When the base game is really good and promotes creative gameplay, modding is bound to follow suit
Same happened with botw/totk and in the indie scene celeste for example
I'm actually curious as to how the game handles music levels like Piranha Plants on Parade as the enemies act on time with music. Maybe you can make custom music levels where you can make enemies pop out at certain times to access areas.
A cool idea for a playable poplin would be that they could bloom in midair and use their flower heads to glide like rayman

It'd be cool to see different models imported. Like seeing the NSMBU or Smash Ultimate version of Mario in the game.
If the Hammer Bro gets squished when using the Toad animations, would it work with Mario or Luigi and possibly look better on them?

You could make Hammer Bro turn into a Fire Bro when collecting a fire flower, make his helmet and shell turn purple when collecting a bubble flower, make him a Sledge Bro with a sentient, self-swinging sledgehammer for the elephant form, & have him wear the Super Mario Galaxy 2 Spin Drill as a helmet for the drill mushroom form.

Did you know, that in w6 in "where the Rrroumbas rule" sonic physics exists? If you dont collect the wonderflower and run into one of these Halfpipes, you can run up a 90° wall
When I first saw these creatures I really wanted to play as one, but unfortunately they’re not. The Poplins could have their flower buds open when they spin in the air. That would be cool.

It would’ve been cool if completing the game (either after Bowser or 100%’ing the levels) unlocked Poplins as a secret character.
Going one step further, since they don’t have power-up models maybe they can’t use power ups AND still take damage, kind of like a “Hard Mode” version of Nabbit / Yoshi
Now I want to play as the Talking Flower.
Hope they become playable in future spin off games

wow that's so cool I didn't know all models in the game are compatable with being playable characters. I really need to get into Mario wonder modding when I get a modded switch. btw, what tools are using to rename the models in game so I can do this myself?
yeah it's pretty neat, I use Switch Toolbox for the internal renaming

I have two questions, first do you want to make (when it will ne easier to mod the game) a whole game inspired by Super Mario Wonder with more challenging levels like newer super mario bros wii, new characters, new concepts (like Captain Toad), etc with a team ?
and secondly, is there a discord for your channel ?
1. If you're asking whether I want to make a full mod of SMB Wonder at the same scale of something like Newer Wii, then... maybe? Historically I haven't always loved working in big teams, so I might just make as much as I can on my own and see how well that goes.
2. Not at the moment no, but with my channel's recent popularity I might make one sooner than later

I have a question that would be great to get answered by someone that understands as much about coding mario levels as you do. Is it actually easier for a programming-team to programm wonder effects like that (With that I mean seperated from the level) or would it be easier to programm the effects in the levels itself (or in any other way)?
As a little example: Is it more time-efficient to programm the raining stars as an effect that can be converted to every level or would it just be easier to include the code to the level itself?
Im asking that because if this sort of programming would be more difficult and less time-efficient than any other kind of technique, this could potentially be a hint that they programmed these effects in such ways, in which they can easier be added to a future mario maker game. So they wouldnt have to programm them from scratch.

Okay, this may be a huge request and ik as you said your not a custom character creator but I think it’d be super cool to see an entire hammer bro mod. Maybe the fire could be fire bro, the elephant could be sledge bro, the bubble could be... bubble bro? And same thing for drill.

What happens if you replace the enemy texture with the character texture
We need a mod to make it so Elephant Peach and Elephant Daisy to be playable without the apple but make it so you can use the elephant ability as your base ability and make it so there's Fire Elephant Peach and Fire Elephant Daisy and Drill Elephant Peach and Drill Elephant Daisy and Bubble Elephant Peach and Bubble Elephant Daisy

Please, help! What do I do to move Wonder Seeds a bit? (In "Bowser's Blazing Knucklefest or what is it called the fists don't break the Seed cage, and I can't go thru, and in "Piranha Plants special reprise" the seed doesn't pop out. Other music levels don't work properly also, but are beatable)
