I've been using Notability for so many years, back when it costed money to buy and wasn't a subscription. It's helped me through pharm school and I got a lot of my friends to use it too. It's super easy to get used to as well compared to other note taking applications. It's really nice that they are always updating to have more useful features to cater to everyone for whatever you need it for. I also highly enjoyed the recording feature, back then it was so vital for me especially when you miss something the professor may have said, you can just go back, touch the part of the note he said it in, and can easily relisten to that specific part.
Thank you ! Super helpful video. Just started using notability and this had so much great information for me, I’ll use almost all these features. Thanks for doing this
Loved the lesson, I’m wedded to Notatabilty because I needed to import files and highlight lines and figures for reference. Maybe some other note apps works, but I couldn’t make it happen. Noteability it is.
You can tap anywhere on the lower part of the pencil, not just the flat part. I used to think the same thing, but the flat part is just for magnetic mounting purposes.
@@precisionmediamarketing6950 I've actually recently figured this out and it makes me hate the feature even more unfortunately. The accidental taps I have are ridiculous
0:48 Just wanted to know that what is this limited notes edits on the free version. I am planning to have an app for notes but am stuck between goodnotes 5 and notability Do reccomend me I was planning to use notability after hearing that it has gone free but didn't knew about that limited note edits Though I don't quite understand what this means limited notes edit bit I don't like it's name as someone who wanted to have notability for free xD
So I’m in notability and have a template of just the “notebook paper” and when I “text” my space bar is a “back” button and it takes me out to the list of files again . How can I fix this it only happens in notability
Thanks for the video! I started to use notability bc most of our lecture notes are on google drive and with this app I can import those notes and write/highlight on them. However I have a question: when I click on the file that I want to import from drive to notability, I click on “open in” and then it downloads the said file. But I want to understand where this downloaded file goes, like I looked at the Files app of my ipad and the downloaded section but the file wasn’t there?
Nice video. Very helpful since I'm a first time Apple Pencil user. Can I ask why you use Goodnotes more than Notability now? How do they compare? Thank you for making this video.
Well GoodNotes has a one-time payment whereas Notability is a subscription. So I can't recommend Notability to most people because I don't agree with their subscription model and so I switched to Goodnotes. Both are great apps though and are quite similar now, but I have videos comparing them
Bonjour j'ai eu une démonstration de notability sur ipad prof avec reconnaissance caractère. Juste génial. Mais APPLE n'a pas su me dire si la transformation de la version écrite manuscrite en version dactylographiée gardait accroché l'enregistrement audio
Enjoyed this. Been using this for several years but learned new ways to do things. Thank you. Question: does Notability do voice to text? Question 2: I added many notes to Nebo in the past and then when I stopped paying for the subscription I couldn't open them any longer. Would Nobility give me the same problem. I need to add notes that I want to keep for years to come and don't want to pay for Nobility Plus in the future when I'm not using it any longer. Any thoughts on this?
There's currently no built-in voice-to-text function on Notability, but iPadOS has dictation built-in that you could use. As for Notability Plus, I'm not sure about that because I got grandfathered into Notability Plus for free since I purchased Notability so many years ago before they were a subscription service. But Notabilitiy's FAQ section seems to suggest you'll still have access to all your notes even if you downgrade
Hi, Mister Singh: One thing bugs me a lot about Notability. It doesn't allow same names for different files in different subjects. For example, I have two subjects - math and physics. For each subject, I took lectures throughout the term, and will label them as Lecture 1, lecture 2, etc. But I can not use the same name Lecture 1, Lecture 2, etc. for both math and physics courses, and have to rename them. Otherwise Notability complains. How do you deal with this problem? I understand Notability wants to track each file independently, but I don't like it. What else should I name it besides Lecture 1,2, ...?
I believe this was fixed in a recent update if they're in different subjects. Otherwise I work around this issue by either adding the date or putting a letter before numbering (i.e. M1, M2, M3 for math and P1, P2, P3 for physics etc.)
Hi what is the third party application you mention in the video to get better titles and layouts in notes? I didn't find the video you mentioned in the presentation. Thanks
Yup but that's an iPadOS feature not a Notability feature. I keep the double tap off because I've had too many accidental taps so wish Notability would have an automatic switch feature like Goodnotes does
This is not a graphics art program. Way too concerned with what it looks like, and even after 7 minutes typing text into a note still not covered. Very poor in my opinion
Can't wait to see how you add titles to Notability! Thanks for the tutorial, very easy to follow.

Thank you for the video..
You can switch between the eraser and the previous tool by double clicking on the pencil
Yeah but the app won't give you the option to automatically switch once you're done erasing
FYI, when you tap on the flat side of the pencil near the tip, it switches from eraser to last tool used. Still not automatically, but another option.
Yes true! But not a Notability feature that's an iPadOS feature

how do you add worksheets from the internet onto your notability page?
How do you use stylus and handwrite text and use text recognition to turn it into text?
Moving to subscription is terrible. I bought this app and it still works, but I no longer recommend it. This is a big loss.
Agreed
Subscription to apps is no-go for me
Normally I would agree but since Notability is $16 a year instead of monthly subscriptions, I don’t really mind.
Is there a way to attach your notes to calendar days? So when I open my calendar it would have a certain note on a date that I choose?? Thanks

What about printing to paper? Does it print easily to 8 1/2 x 11 paper? Same goes with printing to PDF?
Yup, prints perfectly on 8.5x11 which is why I used it so much

No. You can record if the voice is coming from the speakers of the iPad.
