That river is kinda swift for a kayak made for smooth waters. Glad you weren't injured or worse.

If anyone is curious ive had this kayak for about a year now and use it mainly for fishing and i love it. I dont gotta worry about rocks like an inflatable yet im able to break it down and fit it in my miata passenger seat. Having such a small car i thought id never have a kayak but ive used it probably a dozen times since owning it.

Been thinking of getting one for the same reason. Do you ever bring a cooler or tackle gear to keep behind seat?

Nice. I just got one of these about to take it out for the first time. Dude I flipped a kayak like 5 years ago in a river just like this in early spring. It was one of the scariest near death moments I've ever experienced, and probably closest to hypothermia I've ever been... Definitely makes for a long day to say the least.

I did the same thing on The Trinity River in Carrollton, TX. But had a strap for my paddle and 6 others in better pelican kayaks to help me. Try filming lower so can see the boat and river.

Good job keeping your cool - you obviously got rescues, glad you kept the yak!

Love the shift in music there in the third act. That really took a turn for the worse quick. Regardless, the majority of this was absolutely beautiful and I think you've officially sealed the deal on the TuckTec for me after seeing you take on those minor rapids with ease.

Video shows that any first time use of a kayak should be on flat non moving water to become familiar with the boat!

Yeah dude you were totally not prepared to be on that kayak... always when you go out be ready Tobe swamped... 1) PFD 2) lanyards/ tie ropes 3) suitable footwear 4) dress for the water temp
At least you managed to get the yak out :)

TuckTeks are hard to flip but, obviously not impossible. The way they're open like a canoe makes it pretty difficult to lean the opposite direction while smacking the paddle flat on the side of the tip. Perhaps stay in the middle of swift moving water and stay straight? Funny enough, had you been laying down flat in the boat, it probably wouldn't have capsized.

Been there, done that a few times in whitewater; but in hard shell canoes and kayaks. Doing some homework into the Tuck Tech before buying one.

Great trip in the beginning.. the capsize was nerve wrecking with that music but glad to see you were fine. I’m sure you’ll have many great adventures with the Tucktec.

Very nicely done video. That water had to be very cold in WI in April! Glad you are OK?

Do you still use this kayak? I've been using inflatable ones for a couple of years now because I live in an apartment, but this looks both easier and faster to setup and to paddle. Would be interesting to hear what you think!
