I have other videos showing the full rescue in adverse conditions, this was just a test to see if the stabilizers helped or hurt the rescue, imo they got in the way
Great demo again especially with the stabilizers. What is their best use case? Fishing? I’ve seen other videos where standing isn’t recommended but with the reenforced base I assume that issue has been resolved. Do the stabilizers help with fishing or fishing standing up? Obviously good for new kayakers. Do they interfere with normal entry to seated as shown in a different video? Can they be installed while on the water or only prior to deployment? So many questions. Sorry.
i would definitely say fishing, the kayak is stable enough to where I couldn't see 95% of ppl flipping when fishing, but it enough difference where you can be really clumsy without risk
I was just commenting on another video that I wanted to see a self rescue re-entry kayak with one of those blowup things But I thought you were supposed to put the paddle paddle across the front of the kayak and hold onto it while you get back in...?... Anyway thanks for making this video❤
I think it would have helped to bring a bucket or hand pump Lol also could you do a reverse reentry on this kayak with the stabilizers, basically, floating on your back and pulling your legs over the yak until your CG is far over enough to sit up without tipping it?
the entry I am doing is from many years teaching, making entry from touring kayaks easier and easier. I was told it would be impossible to do an entry from one of these kayaks, two hours later was in the water in fairly rough conditions to prove them wrong. I will be starting kayak videos again next month when back in the country
When you say the stabilizers only get in the way, do you just mean for re-entry or in general? I was about to order a set for fishing but if theyre a bigger nuisance than not maybe I'll pass!
reentry, they definitely take the edge off for fishing, personally would only use them for that, to swing my legs around and dangle in the water while fishing

comes in handy if you decide to hop out of your kayak out on the lake
