I had been interested in buying a Tucktec for some time, however, I was very skeptical of its ability to be used as a fishing kayak and never purchased one for that reason. But because of this and your other videos now I see things differently and intend to make the purchase! Thanks for the videos, keep it up! 💪
This will be a long conversation, but here are some general things to consider. It really depends on how you fish. If trolling, I would recommend a short rod (less than 6ft), so you can easily reach your rod tip in the constrained space. If casting, a longer rod allows you to cast further. But I wouldn't go longer than a 6'8" rod in a tucktec, given space can be tight. KastKing rods have worked well for me. Affordable rods with great quality.
As someone considering buying a Tucktec FOR fishing, your video was super helpful. My local lake has a LOT of boat traffic so I was a little concerned about how the kayak would handle the wakes. Looks like it wouldn't be a problem. I also like how you found a way to use a fish finder!
hi, is that transducer different from the one your get when you buy the garmin fish finder? I didn't know you could set it up that way. I have the transducer that has the suction cup and it doesn't stick for a long time. I keep having to resuction it to the side of the kayak. Suggestions?
I stick it to the inside of my kayak with a type of moldable putty. I should make a video on this since a few of the subs were requesting me to make a tutorial video of my fish finder setup
nice this is exactly what i was looking for i wasn't sure if if wanted to buy the kayak because my spots are rough and its always windy in WA thank you
That worked better than I thought!

Thanks! You would enjoy your tucktec!
BUY ONE OR TWO, They are a 'Ball'. My wife and I own three of them, and carry them everywhere, even on our Electric Bikes.
@@olephart9556 My plan is to be able to use mine with my ebike too! bike to a fishing spot, hop in and bike back.
Would love to get more details on your anchor set up.
New to kayaking but I just bought my first tucktec.
check out my video in the channel. there is a breakdown of the anchor setup. enjoy!
What type of fishing rod and reel do you use? I just ordered a tucktec and would like to get into fishing off of it.

How did you rig up the Garmin 4 to your kayak?
I think I should make a dedicated video on this, many have asked about this

You would enjoy your tucktec. It is very stable and light. Never regretted my purchase. I would even buy a third one to get more friends to enjoy it

@@JChanTV_youtubeI agree. I hope you do end up making a vid on that.
safe to carry 60lb dog?
If the overall weight on the yak is below 250lb, it should be ok
Tighten that drag!!!

It should hold up well. I am on the lighter side at 150lb, this probably also helped with the stability
I'm 180 and had my dog with me who was about 45 pounds unless he was wet 😂 I got a hand pump just in case
Thanks for the tips I have been looking on what mods to do to my Tuktec.
Did you add that stripping around the edge yourself? If so what is it called?
car door trim, yes i did it myself
how much does your anchor weigh?
3.5 lb without the chain
WHY DON'T YOU HAVE A LIFE JACKET ON
I do. But not for the cover picture as I was stationary in shallow water fishing. All other times it is on.
what kind of clamp on rod holder was that? looked like it worked well for that kayak.
