      Agree 100%. Lightweight. I chose due to the options included plus what I can add on top of it. Still lighter than a pdk equivalent in a diff model.

    Great little review. I like all the points you made. I reached out to what seemed like an endless number of Porsche dealers over this last month and was able to find one with an available Carrera GTS allocation. I just made my deposit to secure it and I’m so glad I did because it’s crazy hard to find a GTS allocation anywhere. I learned pretty quickly the waitlist thing is a joke.

      @@Porschedrop yes, it’s a 992, so it will be exactly the same dash layout as your T. I really did not want to go down the 992.2 route with the hybridization being added. One thing I’m a little stuck on is whether to go with full bucket seats/rear seat delete or the 4-ways. Obviously the full buckets with rear delete will be lighter, but I don’t know how much. Although I imagine the bigger benefit is the secure hold and more connected feeling with the car. I do have my eye on the club leather in truffle brown with chalk stitching if I go with the 4-ways.

    • @Porschedrop
      @Porschedrop  9 месяцев назад

      @@RB-xv4si I am sooooo happy with the 18 way seats. So comfortable. But be honest with yourself. Are you tracking it? Does it really matter the weight savings. Pick what you think you will use it for. If it’s not a track car then focus on how you would daily it.

    • @RB-xv4si
      @RB-xv4si 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@Porschedrop I get what you’re saying. It will be a weekend car for me, so I’m more inclined to see it as a toy than something useful to get me to work every day. But I may change my mind. The 4-way sport seats plus would be a nice compromise between lightweight and luxury. Freeze date is May 15th, so there’s a little time.

    6:59 Hello fellow T owner! My T is coming in July, I also have owned a 991.2 T and loved it. I specc'ed my car in Gentian Blue Metallic with the manual, the bucket seats and the carbon fiber roof as the main differences to yours. I also chose Guards Red accents for the speedometer and the clock, the fire extinguisher and the red seat belts. :-) Just a little info: Even the manual T has the "Drive Mode" button on the steering wheel. The glass is “noise insulated” despite being thinner. It blocks more sound from the outside than the standard glass. I have seen a video sound testing so it is proven true. It means you hear less from the outside so you hear more from the inside. With less sound deadening that means it is intended to let you hear the engine and the drivetrain more. This is partly why everyone says the T is very engaging to drive because of the acoustic by design.

And I agreed with you that I’ve met lots of very nice, down to earth fun and interesting people through the brand. Love my Lexus and Toyota but can’t say that about them. Lastly. Any 911 that you are lucky enough to get an allocation for is a special car. You don’t have to have a GT3 RS to own an amazing 911. Your T is an incredible car! Don’t let anyone discount your 911. I had zero test experience with the T’s shifter, only with a Carrera S (different and not exciting). In the end, I wasn’t ready to stop driving a manual car and BOY am I glad I went with MT in my T. Owned a GT3RS and agree, too much for reality driving. If you are into bragging rights, buy a cup car and be broke. If you want to drive your car, buy a 911T. That said, the dash is higher than previous generations and the car has wider hips that you'd expect for a base 911. Rear camera is excellent, but plenty of power and the modern dash is very up to date (for once). Wish they added carbon fiber over the interior, but it is ok as spec'd by most in base models.
