    I have owned a 911 T for almost a year now and literally have never turned the stereo on. Putting the manetino in Sport Plus opens up the exhaust, and with the sound deadening reduced, its a symphony that makes me smile no matter how long the trip. Coupled with the auto-throttle blip on downshifts, this car doesn't need a stereo system, IMHO.

    Nice review Miles and thanks for the originality in your comments. At the age of 15 I was blown away by the look and the sound of the tangerine coloured 911 I saw in London when these cars were rare beasts. After a wait of 50 years (9 months to get an allocation and 49.25 years saving-up) I took delivery of mine last month but I'm still waiting for a sunny day to give it a proper blast.

    Great review, Miles. I love my T. One comment I have is the manual transmission really creates a different and wonderful experience (and you can't get the manual on the base Carrera, nor do you get the PTV and limited slip, both of which are standard on the T). You also save 70-80 lbs of weight. It creates the "slowest" 992 but you would never know it if you don't care about launch control or track speed. I don't have rear-axle-steer, and I can't imagine the car being any better handling than it is. Get BOSE for your sound system, the car is a nicer daily environment than you might initially think, and you will notice the sound system except under heavy back road driving when the engine is the main thing you care about.

    • @TheSunTheSea
      @TheSunTheSea Год назад

      My build freeze date is coming up and the rear axle steering is the one option I keep ticking on and off. I’m really on the fence about it. My reasons against it is that it’ll take away from the “pure” experience and feel artificial. But I’ve never driven a 911 so I don’t know if that’s true. Glad to see you love your T despite not having RAS.

    As fate gray is the color of the wheels and side mirrors and badging. The ultra top stereo is a Burmeister not the Wilkins we garner. The main point of the T is that it does have a manual transmission - while the base 911 is PDK only.

      @@owenstang4665 @ericrichter7451 Congrats on getting your Ts. Close to pulling the trigger on a 24 T as well. Question for you - with the reduced sound deadening on the T, how is the road noise inside the car? I'm going to have my almost 3 yr old in the back during weekend joy rides, and just checking on making the right choice. Thanks again!

    • @owenstang4665

      @@radans99 as far as I know GTS and T have the same reduced sound isolation, but both not that significantly noisier than a S or base from interior (and all 911 have considerable road noise) If you enjoy the engine sound as I do, T will be the right choice.

    What really makes this the BEST bargain in a 911 (for the real driver that is) is that you can get a manual trans, lightweight package, and with a very affordable tune from APR, etc. It will have over 600 hp. So, MORE power than a GT3, lightweight, manual trans at a fraction of the price..

    Miles, great video. I’m very undecided on the rear axle steering option. One of my main motivations of getting the T is to have a manual transmission in a purist 911. Do you think the RAS makes the handling more “artificial” or is it a must as far as options go?

    • @CarswithMiles
      @CarswithMiles  Год назад +1

      I think it vastly improves the agility of the car. I'd probably option it if I was buying new from the factory

    • @dailymanna5912
      @dailymanna5912 10 месяцев назад

      I had a tough time deciding on RAS but very glad I got it - pros: low speed turning radius, powering out at high speeds (different from "longer wheel base" effect) , quicker steering ratio when not active between 30 to 50 mph (where most of my back road driving is done). cons: turn in can feel "assisted", 2k option, extra weight/complexity, another thing that can break. As I got more used to it, I'm simply amazed at how well it works. If you do HPDE or you are a highly skilled driver, I would spend seat time in RAS/non RAS back to back before deciding.

Yeah there’s nice creature comforts along with the latest standard driver assist technology. But it’s not for those who want to be pampered in an automobile by far. It’s laid out provide the best sports car experience while being able to out run it’s competition if there are any.

      I've driven the Z06 twice now and this is hands down the better drivers car overall. Z06 is fantastic though. Haven't driven an Emira yet though!

      @@CarswithMiles better drivers car but to what end? A Toyota GR86 and its actually lightweight chassis will arguably give you a better purist feeling? Better yet a Miata that has even more road connection then this Porsche and is way cheaper. But we do not necessarily say its better just because it's more purist or there's more steering feedback. There's levels to everything and the Carrera T is mega priced for its lowly power figures that are not enough coupled with the Porsches ever growing weight( this lightweight Carrera T quoted btw is just 24 pounds lighter then the normal Carrera. Bogus). And unlike the Porsche, the Corvette gives you a well appointed and optioned out interior amongst all levels, you do not have to shell out a minimum of many thousands on interior options to not have your Porsche 911 have less features then a base model Elantra.
      I am very excited for your lotus emira review. It truly is an incredible vehicle. I think you'll absolutely love it.
