    Hello everyone! Just wanted to let everyone know that the baking times have been reduced for this recipe! Bake in a preheated 370 degree oven for 1 hour and 10 minutes!

    Charlie, I'm on a tight budget since my husband was hurt at work last year and was not going to subscribe to anything. But I just subscribed to you. I figure learning to cook the foods he loves from scratch will put amazing food on the table and stay within our limit. Thank you for showing us that store brands are ok.
    Thank you for inspiring us to keep a clean kitchen and to have the self discipline to know when we've had enough. BTW. Your grandmother should be so proud of you.

    finally a simple recipe for the both...the crust and pecan pie 🥧 thank you so much. i will be trying this this thanksgiving. oh i grew up in the south...atlanta to be exact...imagine my surprise moving to kansas and learning you have to pay for pecans here...and high prices...whaaaaat? they were everywhere in your yard growing up in ga...mind blown

    Charlie, I tried your recipe, it was lighter than the recipe ive used, which belonged to my mom. Her recipe called for dark corn syrup. Charlie, for a long time I've used all butter crusts, i used cold cut up butter and cold ice water, i even chilled the flour prior to making the crust. You are the first cook that I've seen that uses a combo of vegetable margarine, and pure unsalted butter. I followed your process to the tee, it was my best crust ever, it had the sugar added, and that added a different taste, in short, awesome! I baked my pie at 350°, i wasn't thinking, it was in for about an hour and a half. Still it turned out unreal! Thanks for this recipe! Now you didn't reveal your secret ingredient? Can I ask if it was Nutmeg? My moms old recipe called for 1 tsp. of ground Nutmeg, of which she always listed it as an optional ingredient.

I fell in love with a pecan pie when I made a friend about 4years ago, who came down from the USA for a holiday! he was from washington d.c. and he baked one for my family and I and i. unfortunately i haven't been able to get the recipe off of him. so I was so stoked to find your video on RUclips!     For peanut butter, Karo Syrup and other sticky ingredients, spray the inside of your measuring cup with non-stick spray. Ingredient comes out easier.

      Ohhhh that's why. Those electric stoves tend to burn when baking. I personally don't like them. Try at 325 degrees if you can. That top burner for the electric oven will burn your baked goods. It's best to bake at a lower temperature when using those electric ovens!

    Hi Charlie I made sweet potato pie for thanksgiving using your recipe. I made 4 I didn’t have nothing left. Everybody loved them. My grandson say he like pecan pie so I already know what I’m making for Christmas using your recipe. Pecan pie!

    Hi Charlie I've been following your recipe now for about three years I make the famous gumbo that you made that comes out awesome every Christmas everybody loves it so my daughter has been trying to make your strawberry cake with all of the fun stuff but we live in Colorado and she is really perfected all your other cakes but she can't seem to get the strawberry cake from not exploding in the oven I think it has something to do with the altitude maybe you can help in addition I'm going to be trying that pecan pie over the weekend I'll let you know how it turns out but without your recipes I don't know what I do thank you so much

    Hey Charlie I am so grateful for your channel..It is truly a blessing!! I prepare the pie crust and very excited because it turned out so great :) but my pie not sure what I did wrong. I will try again tomorrow. But it seem to cook to fast and wasn't done completely. I know it was a mess but still excited about the crust. I feel like a pro!

      Heyy there Lydia! I am happy to hear that the pie crust turned out good. If the edges seem to bake too fast use a pie shield on the edges or you can place aluminum foil around the edges. This will prevent over browning. Also if you pie crust turns out to be a little undone just bake the pie for an additional 10 minutes. Now sometimes your pie crust will turn out a little undone. That is normal.

      With this pie crust you should be able to roll the pie dough out or cut the pie crust to fit your pie pan size.

    Btw, to get every single drop of liquid out of the bowl/measuring cup, use a rubber spatula. It's amazing how well it works!

    Charlie the man Andrews. Quick question. Have you found that adding the flour makes a difference or not? I have always made it this way in this video without flour and it’s always been perfect. But I recently saw you you added flour to the newest recipe from 3 years ago. What would you advise me to do? Flour or no flour? Thank you

      Flour holds the pie together which can also be done by baking it until it's done. Whether if you add flour or not makes little to no difference. You can try it without the flour and go from there. You're welcome!

    Oh my goodness, your pie crust looks so beautiful! You do better than a lot of people and your pie look so beautiful, not burnt and ugly.
    What I don't understand is why people don't have any shame anymore as to what their foods look like after cooking? People will present the ugliest looking food, (burnt pies, burnt chicken, sloppy looking mac and cheese, dressing that looks like gray matter, I just don't get it. Don't they have any pride?

      Sometimes the food looks really nice but when you take a picture the picture just looks gross. I don't know why, maybe the lighting or something. I made a beautiful cake with a cinnamon and butter crunch topping, and the picture looked like a pile of dog food (worse really, but I won't say that here!).
