NOT the local IP. I mispoke in a part of the video. (My bad) 5.) Port forwarding is CRITICAL for this to work. Make sure you are following your ISP's directions exactly. 6.) How do I find my server in the server list. As stated in the video, this should work BUT for some reason it took mine like 2 hours to even show up in search. I would recommend that you just give them the PUBLIC IP you inserted and have them join directly. @@M4XIMUZ the video guide shows how to get your internal IP address, not the external address he mentions in this update. google how to get your public IP address, there are a few ways. Easiest way is there are some websites that will report your public IP back to you.
We swapped out the personal ip for the public ip and now we can't connect. Are there any additional steps to take since ppl on our network had already logged in and started playing. Do any files need to be deleted?
One small problem I noticed while trying to follow this guide. The file you edited isn't the Server config file. That's the Default. You've gotta dig deeper to get the actual server file. Which it does say at the top of the file.

My friends can't connect to my server no matter what i do. I restarted the computer, i restarted the internet, i have quintuple checked that the ports are open and correct. I am able to connect and it seems to show and reperesent all of the server settings i set, but nobody else can connect.

What about editing the locally hosted server settings? I've turned off the server, edited the PalWorldSettings in SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\PalServer\Pal\Saved\Config\WindowsServer, however, no changes are made in-game after launching the server after editing the numbers in the config file.
I've actually just deleted the palworldsettings along with the default one, and no difference. The game is using settings from a different file than indicated.

So, I am messing around with SteamCMD and I wouldn't think that the steam one would just close itself. Is the actual instance of the server on your PC still up and running or is it accidentally getting closed. Also, may want to check for internet outages/power outages. If the internet dropped even for a short time, I would think that it would close the server.
I am having this exact issue and not sure how to fix it. Server stays on all day long and runs fine with 8 of us in it if im in game, but as soon as i leave, the dedicated server will stay on for a little bit then then it will just close. @@DustyPorter
This doesn't work for me. I did it all and my external IP won't let me connect. Additionally, when I try my local IP, it gives me an error saying I didn't enter a password. It doesn't even ask for a password. I can do Minecraft and DayZ servers with no issues, so I know it's not my PC or connection. This game is still rough around the edges for sure.
Question. When launching it does not give us an option to enter a password. It just gives a prompt that says "No Password has been entered" ????? What do I do here?

That’s because he used his local IPv4 instead of the public one. With the local one it only allows people on the same network to join. You’d need to get your public one and use that one instead.
I think I was having a similar issue. The UI for the xfinity app seems to be bugged for some devices. You can get to the port forwarding location by doing the following. 1. Launch the xfinity app. 2. Click the Xfinity assistant on the top right. 3. type and enter Port Forward. 4. Click the Network option. 5. Click the Open advanced settings option. 6. Click Port forwarding.

My dedicated server IPV4 address keeps changing from a 10.0 address to a 192.168 address. So randomly I won't be able to connect sometimes until I restart my router. I also can't add the 192.168 address as a port forwarding option because it's not recognized even though when I do ipconfig in CMD it says the 192.168 address. But after restarting router it reverts back to 10.0 lmao wtf?
So. I found that if I leave it empty it works better for me. Also, I’m still ironing out some bugs BUT it may be that if you are the server admin, you don’t have to put in a password..

Went well overall, but encountered an issue with port forwarding. Tried out the free Radmin VPN and it fixed the problem without any trouble.

You have to connect with a different ip to your public ip, type in cmd ipconfig and use that one.

I figured it out. For global port range you put 25565-27015 and then the base port is 8211 for AT&T at least

No you can not transfer anything... although community says they might add this option after full release

@@TomVanceMusicIt should be 0,1,2, or 3. I don't know which is which but 0 is you don't drop anything. And 3 is drop everything.
@@TomVanceMusic 4 possibilities : "None" to keep all when dying, "Item" to drop just items and not equipment, "ItemAndEquipment" to drop items and equipment but not the pals, and finally "All" to drop all that you have on you

My dedicated server IPV4 address keeps changing from a 10.0 address to a 192.168 address. So randomly I won't be able to connect sometimes until I restart my router. I also can't add the 192.168 address as a port forwarding option because it's not recognized even though when I do ipconfig in CMD it says the 192.168 address. But after restarting router it reverts back to 10.0 lmao wtf?
What if I did all this and my friends can not connect even if the server is open and I can as well as my wife?

Great tutorial and super helpful, I’m just running into the issue where I set a password for the server and don’t know where to enter the password.
So. I found that if I leave it empty it works better for me.
Also, I’m still ironing out some bugs BUT it may be that if you are the server admin, you don’t have to put in a password..
If you enter your password on another server, click ok then NO. Then you should be able to join through IP address. This worked for me
Great video thank you dude, I would make a quick change and update the IP address wording as you've said your IP and not public IP.. and that you need to update the server ini file. - copy and paste from the local file to the server file
