    In the later part of the videoI left the un-edited tests at normal speed, in case you want to draw your own conclusions.
    Like I said, I tested the base speed (with no extra movespeed modifiers) to avoid unwanted complications + it would've required a MUCH much bigger run track. And generally, whichever you see as a winner...will be even stronger with nimble/swift/runner, etc anyway.
    Extra info
    - all Sprint tests were done by holding Shift first, and then pressing W to move. This ensured a consistent way to track them.
    - when stamina bar got empty, movement was continued by holding Shift and W until it came back to immediately gain speed once it did
    I also suggest checking mamaco's testing video: ruclips.net/video/E_vaosEz3P8/видео.html
    Their results are slightly different (I'm assuming shift wasn't pressed at the same time for all tests?)

      @bobnewkirk7003 5 месяцев назад +37

      A lot of folks are looking at stats right now and ignoring when things actually unlock. You can pretty easily have a Faleris by the low 20s (Relaxasaurus + Celray = Anubis + Vanwyrm = Faleris) however you aren't going to mount him until 38 so until then its just a professional baker. In a lot of ways I'm happy just using Fenglope for most of the midgame; Its faster than vanwyrm and unless your tracking super far north the double jump will cover elevation. After that Faleris is the obvious choice for me, despite looking like a thanksgiving turkey.

      Yea basically the mounts you're gonna use are just based off the Saddle you can make. Nightwing first at lvl 14, then can swap to Vanwyrm at 21, then can go Helzephyr or Beakon at 33/34, Quivern isn't until 36, Ragnahawk at 37, Suzaku is 40, Shadowbeak isn't until 47, then the Frostalions are at 48 and Jetdragon at 50.

    This is a great video for the movement speed alone.
    However I can highly recommend when you hit the level for it to use Shadowbeak over everything else you could get before him.
    He might be a bit slower than Felaris but by god I have never seen such a broken Pal with his exclusive skill. This skill alone deals more damage than I think everything else in the game.
    Mine oneshots every "guardian" boss like anubis, etc. and is amazing at aoe clearing aswell. So dropping a little bit of movement speed to have such a broken ability is well worth it imo

  • @Goremize

    Taking Stamina into account, Jetragon having 100 and Suzaku having 350 is quite a massive difference. Regardless of speed and such, Suzaku just lets you actually fly and explore all over the place for a very very long time. best overall seems to be Frostallian/Falaris/Suzaku for your mount.
    And Jetragon not for exploring or anything, just porting someplace and speeding somewhere fast. Best thing about fire Pal's of course is they keep you warm and light up the area.

    • @TheLifeLaVita
      @TheLifeLaVita 4 месяца назад

Granted my shadowbeak has enough stam to cross any body of water, but still noteworthy. It bears testing but I feel like you get more stamina (or rather, lower stam drain) when you upgrade their partner skill.
    And then, shadowbeak also has the coolest move in the game, divine disaster, at an insane 160 power which I think might be the highest non suicide move which is enhanced while riding it.

    that's my preference to say the least, ofc opinions may vary

  • @Sampster0
    @Sampster0 4 месяца назад

    If someone is breeding, I think it's best to start early breeding pals with swift/runner/nimble to get those traits onto 1 or 2 pals that can breed the traits into vanwyrm. Why? It's base speed isn't that far behind the other fliers, and once it has those traits it will be faster than other non-legendary fliers. But more importantly, it breeds with anubis to get Faleris. So by getting the traits onto a vanwyrm you set yourself up to get them on a Faleris also, and then you have a fast flier through level 38, and has soon as you hit level 38 you can start riding Faleris which is within 10% of the speed of jetragon when it has all 3 traits (swift/runner/nimble).
    And you're going to be breeding anubis anyway because he's such an efficient worker, so breeding up a fast vanwrym to get a fast Faleris just makes sense and has real sustaining power

  • @ytubestolemyhandle
    @ytubestolemyhandle 4 месяца назад +1

    For functionality and ease of breeding, combined with the fairly good stats, I'd say Faleris beats the competition, hands down. The higher level fliers are literal pain to breed - for example, you can't easily breed Shadowbeak. You can catch some, but unless you catch enough of them to get the top passives it's gonna lose out (cause if you have top passives on Frostallion Noct, do you really need to downgrade to Shadowbeak? lol)
    Meanwhile you can get enough Direhowls to breed a perfect one, then mix it with Pyrin Noct or Relaxaurus Lux to make a perfect Vanwyrm, then breed the perfect Vanwyrm with an Anubis for perfect Faleris, which you can crossbreed down to Quivern (with Elizabee), Beakon (with Suzaku) or Ragnahawk (with Ragnahawk), but can't go up. So getting Suzaku/Shadowbeak/etc with perfect passives is DAAAAAAMN hard. You'd need to wait for them to raise level cap and breed those birds with the new pals of even higher breeding power than the current "legends"
    PS: I HATE suzaku's design. The way it flaps the wings - it's to slow down, not to fly lol. So having a "bird" (which is a generous term for that scuffed dragonfly) permalocked into braking animation is kinda stupid.

    Just to add, I was looking at a breeding generator as I listened to your video, so I was feverishly plugging in searches. Suzaku isn't easy to breed, so you're right about the levels you'd get it at. However Faleris is pretty easy to breed up while you're in the 25-35 range. Takes a Vanwyrm and Anubis, and Anubis can be bred from a lot of low level combos. So that's another big point in Faleris' favor, especially since it's pretty easy to get Anubis with speed traits.

    For the record, the tests on legendaries could have been done with trait-less versions too. You'd just have to breed Legend off of them. Maybe test a bred one with Legend vs. one you would have caught to see if they both perform the same.
    Thanks for the video! Very informative.

    Went from Night wingearly to hatching a beakon then breeding felaris mid-late game. by time i got jetdragin there was no use of playing. Only thing Id change is to get Vanwyrm instead of nightwing but at time nightwing was an easy capture and more common. And getting beakon helped alot soon after.

    Now compare the Sattle Skill they have.
    Ragnahawk gives you +50% Attack and converts it to Firedamage.
    Put up a Trainingsdummy with a Singleshot Rifle. Your Damage goes from 2k to 3k.
    With a lot more on Top if you´re up against Grass or Ice Pals.

    Problem with Quivern, despite looking great is the worst flying mount in the game. I used it enough to know. It drowns in both water and lava even while flying, it's hitbox is connected to the ground even while flying so if you fly over a pool of lava = corpse run. Out of stamina in the water? You start getting drowning damage.
    To add insult to injury the unlock level is too high for riding it.
    And for picking mounts you also have to think of it's level not just traits for leveling/combat. I got a Vanwyrm early and just buffed the hell out of it and used it past level 40.
    That and I don't look up guides when I play new games.
    Quivern has great reach while at the base however since it's so big.

    I actually bread for a max speed Vanwyrm as soon as I unlocked breeding and let me tell ya it served me well, though after watching this I'll try and breed for a perfect Faleris tomorrow, as it's easily enough obtainable by breeding a Vanwyrm and Anubis together, which will also be easier, as previously mentioned i already have a max speed one of that (I also have a Nimble / Runner Anubis

    Right now im using vanwrym due to using it so long and it being lvl 40 sadly quivern has a bug when flying over lava need confirmation on other dual flying/walking mounts if they have same bug. but finally got quivern with swift. also an up for pure flying mounts is they can "land/walk" on water

    Another good for for Vanwyrm is that it easily breeds into Faleris so use Vanwyrm and breed a good one with Swift, Runner, and Nimble then breed those onto a Faleris then just keep em at base or use them in your team as a fighter until you're able to ride em.

    Tried a Quivern early on, but that thing's just way too big and just gets stuck on everything; really annoying to use, and I ended up sticking with my Nightwing.
    Currently using a well bred Ragnahawk as it looks great & doesn't get stuck on things. I can't bring myself to upgrade to Suzaku (think they're incredibly ugly) or Faleris (looks you're riding on a plucked turkey). Guess I'll have to stop being lazy and go grab myself a Shadowbeak/Frostallion. I honestly don't care for Jetdragon as it's way too bulky -hoping for some small/compact equal speed alternatives in the future.
    I will say though, I was super disappointed that Warsect isn't a flying mount; I think he would have been a super cool option.

    • @bookies24k8
      @bookies24k8 5 месяцев назад +1

      if you'd like a smaller version of Jetragon you can just breed 2 of them together, it wont be a boss variant so it'll be smaller with lower health, but the atk and def stats should be close enough to original. if you dont likke jetragon's design at all, you can opt for frostallion noct. its helzephyr x frostallion, and it can breed to have legend, swift, runner, and either nimble for even more speed, or musclehead to do extra dmg.
      my frostallion noct is legend swift runner and muscle, jetragon is still faster it seems like (haven't done real testing just by feeling) but frost has a ton more stamina so it's pretty nice.

    I only have Nitewing and Vanwyrm right now, but I noticed that Nitewing is much better at gaining height but has a very slow decent speed, while it is the opposite for Vanwyrm. Can you confirm that? I think that would make an interesting test, especally for the early game. The main use of my flying mounts is to get me up to high places to collect stuff, so nitewing actually has an edge here over Vanwyrm (at least it feels that way).

    yeah but another thing to test the jet dragon is so fast. and maybe stamina drain is based on distance not time to you may be staying in air longer but you traveling same amount of distance. so jetdragon would always be superior then.
    but as always use your favorite.

    Vanwyrm, might come as a surprise, but I have stuck with this wyvern up to level 50. Even defeat Jetragon with it. For anything else, Vanwyrm skill also made it very easy to use for hunting. Put ignis blast and air cannon together and you can easily mow down chickens and sheeps for those foods, can stun lock most low-mid level pal too.
    The other ones have way too many fancy, high cooldown and slow start up attack thats just aint versatile for anything other than boss fight. Plus they needed skill fruit to attain that versatility and well... way too much effort compared to the Wyvern.

    I like to breed the perfect Direhowl first, then crossbreed it with Relaxaurus Lux to get the perfect Vanwyrm, then corssbreed the perfect Vanwyrm with Anubis for the perfect Faleris.... until you get to the point where you can catch Legends, at which point you try to replace Ferocious with Legend perk..
    I mean, flying mounts are whatever, but Direhowl is where it's at. One of the very few mounts small enough to fit through dungeon passages. I mean, I don't think anything beats property bred Fenglope on speed or mobility, but it's even bigger than the deers so it's outdoor only.
