I found this whilst looking for music for my Mum's funeral. We lost Dad the previous year during lockdown, and because we couldn't celebrate his life as we had hoped to, this was the PERFECT song to celebrate Mum & Dad being reunited in Christ. I love this!

@@jackanderson6676 That’s a cultural guideline, not a biblical one. 1 Cor. 11:4 does say it’s a disgrace for a man to have his head covered while praying or prophesying, but not while worshipping or singing.

FYI the tune is by Jean Sibelius, the great Finnish composer. Check out his symphonies. It was originally in his tone-poem "Finlandia." It is an important patriot for Finns.

A timely reminder in these uncertain times
I first remember hearing this song sung during the funeral of a classmate in high school. He passed away in a car accident his senior year and we sang this at his funeral in 2005. Ever since, whenever I hear this song I think of Ryan. This arrangement is exceptionally beautiful and I am so glad that I stumbled upon it!

The original is an intrinsically Finnish patriotic hymn as it tells about Finland gaining its independence.
As a Finn, it's hard to listen to this tune and not tear up, even if the lyrics are completely different.

@janel342 Hats need to be off when praying or prophesying. Singing is a form of prophesying especially with the reference of the future in this song. Catholics pray and bow before images which is idolatry that will send people to the lake of fire. Our Lord Jesus died for the sins of humans, not angels. I know miracles do happen because I have seen an actual man walking on water. Eternal life depends on obeying the Lord Jesus, who is the pure Word of God. I and other pure Christians shall spend eternity in the new earth, not heaven.
It’s about worshipping our Lord, and it’s beautifully done!! We are God’s house. So don’t worry about the hats!

That is because this is potentially even more patriotic / endearing to us than our actual current national anthem and that's very well-liked as well.
I would recommend hearing this with its original Finnish lyrics as well. It is a very powerful hymn.

lovely singing to our Lord Jesus, has no one taught the men, a hat is NEVER worn in a church, it denials the truth of scripture. we still need perfection.
Happy day Sister Mary, I'm pretty certain that you meant ~ '...has no one taught the men that hats should not be worn in church...' q;~). If this video was filmed inside a church and not in front of a green-screen, then we have evidence that (like it or not) hats ARE worn in a church. There are some folk my age who would state that (in general) men should not wear hats indoors period, be it at church or another building. And some people would differentiate between going to a church to worship the Creator, versus going there to shoot a music video, and thus small allowances in attire may or may not be considered 'acceptable'. One more thing to consider, does a prayer hat fall into the category of acceptable hats to be worn in church? If a Jew or a Muslim were to visit a Christian church, it would be disrespectful to ask him to remove his (prayer hat) Yarmulke or Kufi. And in closing, I totally agree that 'Eclipse 6' did excellent singing of the hymn, & another beautiful rendition is by the group 'Naturally 7'.
