I look forward to the day this group sings the hymn how I remember it. Plain, original, and perfect the way it was. Altering it like this ruins it. It's about the meaning of the words, not the grandness of the singer.
Sorry, you are all clearly talented, but this song just doesn't work. Its like you've put more effort into harmony's into the fact that this song is about a dying mans last few breaths. Thats why the lines such as "The darkness deepens Lord, with me abide When other helpers fail and comforts flee death and decay in all around I see", Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies This is just a boy band trying to sound pretty. You are talented, just dont play with peoples funeral songs. In that context, nobody cares about the glee harmonies or the pretty sound. Its meant to be sad, not uplifting.
I think they need to lower their prozac dosage. They should sing it with music so they can follow the notes because they obviously don't know the correct music.
My grandfather just passed away this morning and this really helped me. Thank you so much for your beautiful voices. I've always loved your music.
