I think you are a fantastic photographer, but let’s also be real; there is something exotic and mysterious about Bec that transcends just obvious beauty. There are some models who the camera is drawn to, and it never has to do with risqué clothing or blatant sexuality. It has to do with stories told with the eyes and attitude in the hips. I am not telling you anything you don’t already know. It is simply when you combine her intangibles with your skilled eye and discipline that these great works come out. You guys are my favorite pair, and I actually do aviation and landscape. I hope you see this as high praise.
Awwww!! Congrats Bec!! And welcome back! We missed you! You're an incredible photographer Peter, and we learn so much from you, so thank you, but Bec is the "secret sauce" so to speak.
Welcome back Beck! This is a great new approach for in home or on the move creators. Thank you for continually making content and sharing the knowledge!
I am constantly amazed at the subtle details that you spot, and understand how to change! I'm an LED "expert"(long story) and it's nice to see how much value that LED lighting can add, colour temperature, special spectra that you might want, the ability to run full power light without needing another ton of A/C, not having to depend on modeling lights...
@@PeterCoulsonPhotographer Wow, no wonder you work so well together, I bet you finish each other’s sentences, it’s great when you have such a relaxed working relationship 👍
Did Bec get prettier since she wears a ring now? Those eyes!! Thanks, this was pretty interesting, I look forward to whatever you kids have planned.🙏❤️
Really fab video - great to see you guys experimenting like this with budget friendly gear and home studio stuff showing its not always about having expensive pro gear. I did wonder about the light almost under the face and risk of upward shadows but i guess treating it like a clamshell with ambient being the top lighting
Many thanks for this new video. To replace Bec, as camera woman, will not be easy, we can see how many equipments will be needed. @B: There are not better images from you than the ones where you are showing the ring and smiling, when you are closing the session (20:10-20:12); I will always wish the best for you, never surrender. The second image I like from you is the one with your eyes in the full screen (12:39). @P: This video confirms my idea that the backstage sessions are masterpieces, carefully crafted. What we watch, “for free”, in this public channel, entails a lot of effort, dedication and in-deep experience. You have built a “factory”; I mentioned this concept in one of my first comments, when I started watching your videos, and I still believe it.
I frikk'n loved that, right up my alley ! I can't wait to see these upcoming vids as I use rented and free spaces to shoot in like church halls, office spaces, peoples lounge rooms and bedrooms etc and this will be very useful info. Thanks Peter, great vid as usual and nice to see Bec back and congratulations to her.
Fantastic coverage of your work, and setup(s) Great to hear all of your feedback based on your experience... you do such nice work that we should all take your advice/comments with real "weight"! And, nice to have Bec back on scene, probably great to have your "team" complete again..
On the bright side, I knew about 40% of the most basic things you were talking about in the beginning relating to the various equipment in your current setup as you move toward more efficiency. I learned a great deal from your descriptions and by supplementing with lookiing up and reading some stuff on the sticking points. I still don't quite fully get the "color temperature" thing so have to revisit that although I saw the differences as you went along. So I take it that all the cams are linked and synced up? I'm not knocking on Bec--she is, as always, very beautiful with eyes that should melt anybody--but despite not moving a lot you had her doing a jig when you were going through the software and from all angles so I did not remotely know that could be done. ;)
Lovely to see you two again!! I've been playing a lot with different light sources and their manipulation to achieve the look I'm after lately. Most if not all this was done either filling in, or augmenting the available natural light. Again though it is interesting to see the tools that you are using and of course how you are using them. I'm running a pair of generic variable output LED lights along with some ND gel and diffusers. It's small and lightweight and for the shots I'm using it on works admirably, at least for now, I notice I'm outgrowing some of my equipment quicker than I would like but then when you are buying used gear to get the quality you want, sometimes you need to be creative with the setup as well as the shot. Sorry I missed a bunch of episodes, I was putting into practice some of the things I've learned watching you, and Bec and your models over the Summer. Now that Fall is here I'm wanting to do some more outdoor stuff while the weather is mild and before the snow falls and I'm forced inside. Looking forward to seeing what's next!! Take care - Dave Maternity leave, too funny!! 🤣🤣📸🎥
Looking forward to your mobile setup as I don't have a studio either I use either two umbrellas with a strobe on one or two soft boxes with a constant light and a canon camera with a 50 or 85mm I do head shots. But also wanna do some glamour portraiture also so watching very close.
Loved this video. I have a basement studio with AB and WL lights and a short ceiling. Always a challenge. Also loved the top Bec was wearing. Where did it come from? Congrats on the newborn She sure bounced back to model shape quick. lol
Happy you got the X3. Ya, it is a pain and gives you this fisheye view that can be a bit distracting, but all that being said, you can just place it and hit record and walk away. I am still learning the 360 Flow, but I have been enjoying it! Love the reviews of all you use.
The dedication to your photo/video operation from / by Bec.; *is commendable* and very *impressive* . (Simply do not see this level dependability from associates these days). (One Remote / solo-spectator observation opinion).

Very cool .... Nice and simple well except for the video gear (but then the only video I have ever done has been with an iphone so every piece of the introduction was Greek to me.) Trying to decide on which lights could be the most useful allround. I was thinking of a couple of the B1X units even though the B10s are more compact. These LED units are also super interesting as accessory lights. I am very interested in learning more about them. Thanks Peter .... and Bec, too. Are we going to see some baby pictures?
The LED's are really helpful, really enjoy using them because it's easier to adjust as I can see the light as I go. Bec didn't actually have a baby, I was just messing with her :)
THAT "nice" glows gonna be a nightmare after color correction, and ofcourse... some mandatory dodge & burn. Reason why we usually avoid using different tint of positive or negative calvin together. Curious how its gonna turn out after a few days of more experiment on this. :) Glad you're doing more of these. Blessed be.
I wondered, with that umbrella, if you could use a kind of "corner" of it, and just pick a bit of the lower part of the beam from the light, for just a touch of diffused fill from below...ok, I know, total amateur tries to suggest to Guru.😹 But, at least, I'm beginning to appreciate how the tiny changes in lighting can make or break a shot... Bec looks pretty good for a "Mom"! 👸🏻
Since all of those video cameras were mentioned, I would be curious to hear about how long you spend on syncing them in editing and deciding which clips to go with from all of that available footage.
Peter, Can you do a video or chat describing the current state of the fashion industry Mags/Models/Agencies/gigs etc and how much things have changed. Just so some of us don't think it's just us or we're making it up in our heads. Thank you.
I would like to see a video on what makes a space a studio? Minimum equipment, size, layout, facilities? I have a 100m space, and wondered if I should equip and offer it as a studio.
My previous studio was 125m including change room, props and able to run it as a fully commercial studio. Minimum equipment is one light and a piece of paper
Thanks for providing the wonderful content (as always). I'm curious, are you at a point with your RUclips channel that income generated from it is out pacing your commissioned photography work?
You record on iPhone, Sony, gopro , and screen , how do u manage all the downloads , and editing , seems like a huge challenge and time consuming editing .
Try real brand for video as PAnasonic and Lumix with real time lut inside . Lumix has a far better colors than Sony . Change yours 18-35 to Anamorphic Lumix lens. It is far better than you always distortion lens movies ;) Good time to change and test others solutions when you are alone :))
