Being a Seattle native I remember the early 2000's Seahawks era well and all of the frustrations that came with it. Our receivers routinely dropped passes (as pointed out in this video) so much that we hired a 41 year old Jerry Rice in 2004. The biggest problem was hiring Mike Holmgren as the head coach and GM; he knew how to recognize talent but he never knew how to use them correctly. I remember the 2006 NFC divisional playoff game between the Seahawks and Bears well. Hutchinson signing with Minnesota in 2006 hurt but we still had most of the players from the 2005 Superbowl team. In my opinion Holmgren's play calling cost us another Superbowl appearance; throughout the 4th quarter and into overtime Holmgren kept handing the ball off to Shaun Alexander (who was only as good as his offensive line) and kept getting stuffed by the best defense in the NFL that year. The game went into overtime and the Seahawks won the coin toss but they went three and out. The Bears hung in there, kicked a field goal, and won the game in OT. The Holmgren era was over at that moment, they never won a playoff game again until Pete Carol was hired. There were many Head coaches in the mid 2000's that showed how obsolete they were (Mike Shanahan, Dan Reeves, Marty Schottenheimer) Mike Holmgren was one of them.

Packers defensive coordinator Ed Donnatell called an all out blitz causing the quick throw from hassebeck and game ending interception. The next week Donnatell wanted to call the same all out blitz on 4th & 26 vs philidelphia but was overruled by Mike Sherman and green bay lost and Donnatell was fired.
These are mostly done for one single game defining play. For instance the helmet catch would be a great one to do, but Tom Brady's SB51 comeback wouldn't (unless you did Julian Edelman's circus catch)
If we're doing the '03 playoffs, you should do a video on the NFC divisional game between Carolina and St. Louis. Considering it ended with Steve Smith taking it 69 yards to the house, it would make sense.
A correction needs to be made: Poole did not get both feet down. At the time, there was a "force-out" rule in that if the defender pushed a receiver out of bounds the officials could call a ball "caught" if they deemed it possible that the receiver could have had both feet down if the defender didn't push them out. A rule that harshly benefited receivers and the rule was removed for the 2008 season onward.

Do Chris Wondolowski's miss against Belgium cause more people should understand just how unlikely it was for him to even be on that field with that opportunity: Only getting a soccer scholarship from D-II Chico State, rising up from the now NPSL to win the Golden Boot and MVP in MLS, beating out Donovan for the last spot on the WC roster right after Landon scored the most iconic goal in USMNT history, having Jozy Altidore get hurt against Ghana with Aron Johannsson being ineffective, and of course everything that took place in the Belgium match up to that point
Off topic, but I wanted to share what a cool dude coach Holmgren is. I ran into him one time at the airport(SeaTac?) when I was going home on leave in the Army. He thanked me and made a comment about the book I was reading. Anyway, I recognized him immediately and there weren't many people in the terminal, and it was pretty quiet. Coach entertained all of my questions, and we talked football for 20-30 minutes uninterrupted. Lots of 90s and Favre. It was a neat experience and really made my day. Holmgren is a laid back, mellow guy in real life, and I really appreciated him taking the time out to talk to me, even though I'm sure he had other stuff he could be doing. Just thought I'd share my random story. Lol
Here's a Rewinder One Nation Under... Landon? Landon Donovan's 2010 World Cup goal against Algeria to not only send the USA to the knockout stages of the World Cup, but also giving the USA its first ever first place finish in the group stages in the World Cup in a group that included the mighty England.
One small error: Nate Poole didn’t get both feet down in that TD-winning catch to knock the Vikings out of the playoffs. The Cardinals benefitted from an old NFL rule that stated that referees could reward touchdowns at their discretion if they believed that a WR would’ve landed in bounds if they hadn’t been pushed out by a defender. As a judgement call, this was non-reviewable, and the Cards won the game. This rule was later changed. So now, it doesn’t matter if a player is pushed or tackled. Both feet have to land inbounds in order for a catch to count.
I think a great rewind could be the Vernon Davis game winner, a.k.a "the catch III" in the 2011 NFC divisional round. Even though the Niners would lose the next game, there's a lot of interesting stuff leading up to Davis's touchdown catch. All of the struggles of the 49ers in the Singletary era, Alex Smith's the success of Harbaugh in his first year, and the crazy duel between Alex Smith (who woulda thunk?) and Drew Brees, leading up to a legendary final drive.
Seahawks fans think Russell Wilson is their dynasty QB, but really, they were just jinxed SO *BADLY* by the curse of the Hasslebeck proclamation, that the football Gods got to the point of feeling bad for them.* * (The only other team this applies to is Tampa Bay, but *they* got greedy & took advantage of their embarrassment-to-Super Bowl opportunity seasons, twice.)
Go pack, go! I'm cursed by having half Vikings blood and half Packers blood (Grandma is a Packers fan and Grandpa is a Vikings fan). When push comes to shove, I'm all for the Vikings, but Brett Favre is my favorite QB of all time. If they play each other, I'm all for the Vikings, but I love both teams nearly the same.
Hologram was an excellent head coach, but he is NOT the reason the Packers got Favre. That was entirely the greatest GM of all time - Ron Wolf. In fact Hologram was a very reluctant participant in the Favre experiment. Anyone who ever seen a Favre documentary knows Hologram struggled with the desire to bench him, and frankly if he had a choice probably would have if they lost that first game where Favre's entire career was probably saved by mud keeping the ball in a kickable position for the extra point.
Your analysis of Holmgren being a "quarterback whisperer" is inaccurate. Mike had EXCELLENT Quarterback coaches; Andy Reid, Jon Gruden, Steve Mariucci. Those guys, not Holmgren were whisperers. Mike wanted to be GM of the team and Ron wouldn't step down or retire. I do wonder if he had something to do with getting Brett clean along with Deanna laying down the law, though.
"Matt Hasselbeck’s OT declaration in Green Bay needs a deep rewind." No, it really doesn't. We see this friggin' clip every time the Seahawks play the Packers, regardless of the actual circumstances of that meeting. You think they'd replace it with Bostick's muffed onside kick recovery, but nope, we see this damn interception every time.
More football ideas: Santonio Holmes's game-winning catch in Super Bowl XLIII, Malcolm Butler's interception in Super Bowl XLIX. Other ideas: David Freese's walk-off homer to force Game 7 against the Rangers in 2011, and Kyrie Irving's three-pointer in Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals.
The constant ‘rewind’ edits are distracting and interrupt the flow of the narration, especially considering that some of the clips are jump cuts which should be just a bit longer to follow the action. It’s not a music video, we’re supposed to be following what’s actually happening in the clips, and it’s frustrating to be switching back and forth from trying to follow the action to worthless static.
Poole didn't get both feet down for the Cardinals 4th victory of the season to spoil the Viking division coronation, rather the then in effect Force out rule rendered the receiver a catch. Seemingly back then another pointless addition of helping define a catch by not defining a catch ; by not allowing the catch 2 happen and establish footing on the field of play illogically creates a catch
You should add the Tracy porter pick six to this series. If that didn’t happen then Payton Manning gets a super bowl win with a final drive for the ages, and the narrative that Payton manning doesn’t have the rings goes down the drain. Instead saints get a super bowl saving pick six. It was a large moment.
I miss Sudden Death OT, I don't care what anyone says the pure dread of the team who lost the coin toss having to make a defensive stop or else lose right away was exciting. At least a team who wins the toss can still win with a TD so that defenses aren't totally off the hook by giving every team "an equal opportunity to posses the ball"
It was at this point....he knew he fucked up. I have no idea why but I grew up a fucking Packers fan, I was during this game living in FL, I loved it. However I came to the light in 2008, and ITS BEAR DOWN baby !!!!!!!

I remember this so well I thought it was so cool he did that that the next day at school I wrote an article like I was a reporter instead of doing school stuff. I didn’t care he lost the game it was an OG move
I was a 15 year old kid at my grandparent's house, and when that happened, we were jumping for joy beyond belief. Great times.
Joe Buck is just such a bad announcer.
Would have been nice to hear Wayne and Larry calling the pick six.
Holmgren always looking out for Green Bay, the man has his own street in Green Bay
Do the Champions league final between Chelsea and Bayern munich 2012
I was so glad when I read that the Packers gave Al Harris a Super Bowl ring for Super Bowl 45. 😂👍🏻👏🏼😊🏉💍
Looking forward to the NHL rewinds coming. Hoping to see the Fleury save in the 09 Stanley Cup final
I remember watching this live when Hasselbeck said that, I knew GB was gonna win after he did. Don't ever piss off 70,000 freezing cold fans at Lambeau... in the Playoffs... in OVERTIME!!!!
As the greatest moment in college football you haven’t done please do Iowa’s Hail Mary against LSU in the 2004 capital one bowl
2010 men's hockey Olympic final for rewinder!
Do the ridiculous chiefs vs raiders 2017 ending. It was flag after flag.
These are mostly done for one single game defining play. For instance the helmet catch would be a great one to do, but Tom Brady's SB51 comeback wouldn't (unless you did Julian Edelman's circus catch)
Wasn’t a postseason game. Raiders didn’t even make the postseason in 2017 lmao
I realize I said postseason. Lol, I meant regular season.
Pro tip: you can edit comments
sillykyle17 fun fact: I’m mentally challenged
When are we getting the 2011 Game 6 rewinder?
The Seahawks packers fail mary in 2013!
It was 2012.
Do the Chicago Blackhawks 2010 OT goal for the Stanley Cup or the Cubs 2016 World Series win in game 7
Poole got 1 foot down, different rules back in the early 2000's on what's a catch, but your point still stands SB Nation
WHERE THE HUCKLEBERRY FINN IS JON BOIS??
They left out a major detail here. The receiver ran the wrong route.
I remember being at Eduardo’s pizza with my family watching this game as a youngster and the whole place erupted. Great game
do eder's winning goal for Portugal against France at EURO 2016 to win portugal their first ever international trophy
5:48 love the Dumb and Dumber reference 😂
Do the Miracle on Techwood Drive. Plenty of great college football moments out there
If we're doing the '03 playoffs, you should do a video on the NFC divisional game between Carolina and St. Louis. Considering it ended with Steve Smith taking it 69 yards to the house, it would make sense.
Or 4th and 26. Even as a Packers fan, that still deserves a deep rewind.
They should of ran the ball
A correction needs to be made: Poole did not get both feet down. At the time, there was a "force-out" rule in that if the defender pushed a receiver out of bounds the officials could call a ball "caught" if they deemed it possible that the receiver could have had both feet down if the defender didn't push them out.
A rule that harshly benefited receivers and the rule was removed for the 2008 season onward.
Still not doing any hockey ones? Do a hockey one!
Should have ran the ball
still waiting for Hamilton's 08 title victory. Greatest race in history
Should do a michgan failed punt or 1993 world series game 6
Should do the SEA-KC game where Thomas set the sack record but still lost on a last-second TD.
I love this series
OK....SB Nation is clearly the best sports channel on RUclips...hands down...
I respect the hell out of Matt Hasselbeck for saying that, it would've been prophetic had he succeeded
you should do Dwight Clark’s nfc championship catch
Back when Seattle Seahawks was normal
You mean their jerseys? Cause their jerseys now are not normal.
billny33 I think these jerseys are still better than the new ones
I think he was saying back when they had a white QB??
We would like to possess the throwing object and we intend to maintain it long enough to reach the scoring area.
Do Game 6 of the 2013 Stanley Cup finals. Blackhawks at Bruins.
Do one on Patrick Ewing guaranteeing a Knicks championship every year and how it turned out.
Super Bowl LI Pats Comeback.
“The Shot Heard Round the World” 1951 Giants Dodgers NL pennent
"The Ice Bowl" 1967 NFL Super Bowl
"The Miracle on Ice" 1980 Winter Olympics U.S vs U.S.S.R.
Bill Mazeroski hit a walk-off home run in the 1960 World Series
Super Bowl XLIX Malcolm Butler intercepted
"The Helmet Catch" David Tyree catch in Super Bowl XLII
Tiger Woods first major championship as a professional 1997
Christian Laettner final shot in East Regional Final, Mar 28, 1992
1993 World Series Joe Carter Home Run
"The Battle of the Sexs" 1973 The Astrodome, Bobby Riggs vs Billie Jean King.
Secretariat win by a record 31 lengths to take Triple Crown.
Do Chris Wondolowski's miss against Belgium cause more people should understand just how unlikely it was for him to even be on that field with that opportunity:
Only getting a soccer scholarship from D-II Chico State, rising up from the now NPSL to win the Golden Boot and MVP in MLS, beating out Donovan for the last spot on the WC roster right after Landon scored the most iconic goal in USMNT history, having Jozy Altidore get hurt against Ghana with Aron Johannsson being ineffective, and of course everything that took place in the Belgium match up to that point
Lol
Here's a Rewinder
One Nation Under...
Seahawks fans think Russell Wilson is their dynasty QB, but really, they were just jinxed SO *BADLY* by the curse of the Hasslebeck proclamation, that the football Gods got to the point of feeling bad for them.*
* (The only other team this applies to is Tampa Bay, but *they* got greedy & took advantage of their embarrassment-to-Super Bowl opportunity seasons, twice.)
Do 1994 World Cup when Baggio misses the penalty, and gives Brazil the title
"Matt Hasselbeck’s OT declaration in Green Bay needs a deep rewind."
No, it really doesn't.
Ah Brett Favre, otherwise known as “He Who Will Give You Great Joy, and Unending, Agonizing Pain.”
I miss Favre, a lot, but oh my god he was just as good at stabbing us in the heart as he was at stabbing everyone else in the heart.
Do a Rewinder for Bill Buckner's costly error to lead the Mets to an eventual WS win
"Ya know Lloyd, just when I thought that you couldn't possibly get any dumber, you had to go and do a thing like this..."
