changing from cheap jewelry to glass was sooooo life changing, I didn't even realize my lobes were in poor condition until I made the change (always kind of oozy and raw on the inside) and I never went back after the discovery. Proud to say I own a beautiful collection of jewelry that keeps my lobes healthy
Oh yes I love this idea! Generally stretching and the process of stretching is the same for melanated skin. Although unhealthy tissue can look different! I’ll have to see if I can get some clients to share some photos examples and put together a video! 🥰
I've been searching for an answer for so long now as to why I can't get my ears to stretch from an 8g to a 6g, but this could be it! I've been stretching with a steel taper kit I got for like $30 online, but I just bought a set of 8g and 6g glass plugs from glasswear studios so hopefully I'll have more luck with that! Thanks for the vid!!
I love your stretching content! I feel like I’m learning so much ! I shared it with my friends who wanted to stretch as well! I went to see my piercer to talk about my uneven ears. She suggested taping and didn’t even look at them really when i talked to her about it. It made me really feel unsafe trusting her with it. I like how you are open and honest and never too quick to find a “one fix solves all” for people. It shocks me that some piercers still suggest taping
I wish I found this channel when I first got pierced because I was mislead with the info I found about stretching a few years ago. I used acrylic tapers and acrylic plugs all the at to like 00g then stretched up with silicone plugs and only waited 4 weeks in between the larger sizes. It was so chaotic. I’m currently downsized to the smallest my ears will go and am massaging with jojoba and vit e every day 2 times and using stone and glass to dead stretch every 3-6 months.
Hi love your whole RUclips thing, I tapered up to 0g from 14g in a year. I was worried about scar tissue because of tearing from the 2g to 0, this really cured my problems. Thanks
I’m so glad I watched this video and read the website on how to stretch naturally. I’ve been using tapers to get to where I am and I hate the process. I’ve been waiting so long to get to a 6 and it’s been months but my ears just don’t want to. Now it makes sense why. They’re just not happy even though they look fine.
I came here from your tiktok and I have to say, you explained this so so well ! I understood everything you spoke about unlike other videos I’ve watched. Thank you ! ❤
I wanna thank you for all the information you're giving out for free. I just had a blow out and went from 8mm down to 4 mm because I made a mess by trying to remove a silicone tunnel (I know, worst thing I could possibily do for my ears). Useless to say I ripped and cut my ear lobe while trying to do that. Left the hole without jewellery for a couple of days, while keeping to moisturize the hole with coconut oil to help the process. Now the hole doesn't bleed anymore and I managed to plug the 4 mm plug in without any pain. I'm currently using an acrylic jewel because it's the only one I got around of that size, but I'm planning on getting some glass single flared plugs asap. So basically thank you for saving my ears!
thank you ive been looking to fix my gauges because i didn’t realize how unhealthy my ears were❤️❤️i love all ur content i came from tic tok and love all the amazing info
Thank you for putting out this content, I am currently trying to reach the inch mark and due to my impatience I created a thin spot in my right ear. So now I gauge up once a year and it seems to be doing wonders for my lobes, hoping I make it to the inch!
I am finally at 0g I had tapped for a while.. then went up to zero with tapers.. lost a tunnel down the drain.. but I had got my glass jewelry from Thailand n now have them in I wish you all luck my Luvs have a safe body mod adventure
Im really impressed just by the look of the rest of the glasswear single flare stretching kit, I switched from acrylic 2mm 😅 (sorry Lynn) to the glass 2mm(:
i think the crazy thing is that, putting it like "you wont get to wear all the jewelry you wanted to wear" seems like the most effective to the peeps that generally would go "oh no, its fine!"/not care as much
I made it to 5/8”, went to put in a 3/4” taper, and the taper went right through with no issue. And after that point, I saw APP piercers talking about safe stretching. I haven’t had a blowout, nor a really bad tear. I was kinda forced to wait between stretches anyway since I couldn’t afford to go to the city 45 min away whenever I wanted. I’m currently at 3/4” and hoping to get to at least 7/8” since I already have jewelry at that size. I’m noticing my lobes starting to thin, so I know I can’t go bigger than 1” at most
They are likely thinning from skipping sizes! I would slow down and go in 1mm jumps to get you to inch. You can always order plugs online so you don’t have to go into the city.
I figured as much, I was 15/16 when I started stretching, so I didn’t have a license to get me to the city, and I was only delivering newspapers, so I only had like $40 every two weeks anyway. Kind of a blessing in disguise that I was forced to wait longer. Next time I’m in the city, im gonna see what 13/16” the APP shop has since my double flares go through with no issue
Absolutely loved the video Lynn! Would love to see more content on stretching, it's been helping me so much! My piercer/mentor has actually advised against oil massages, saying that the best thing to do is to just wash lobes every day in the shower with Naked soap and let them be, so this leaves me kinda confused?
Is there a reason he doesn’t like massage? I mean oils don’t work for everyone’s skin- some folks find it pore clogging. But there’s also balms and lotions for folks with different skin types!
@@Lynn_Loheide nope, she just said to "leave them alone, you don't need to do that" but it seems like lots of other piercers are suggesting otherwise, but I'm worried that just using the soap every day will dry out my ears :( I've been dealing with what you said about ears being pink, with lots of tightness and secretion no matter how long I wait, so I've just been wondering what's been going on, and trying to figure out what works for me. Thanks so much for the reply!
@@LouShoeLacer soap can absolutely dry ears out. And many people need extra moisture. Massage can also help with circulation and blood flow. What material are you wearing?
Im guilty of sleeping with metal tunnels, My glass plugs come in today. My ears have an unrealistic stretchyness to them in a matter of days My heavier plugs can fall out easy. I have to force my self to wait. 7mm to the finish line need to keep my lobes nice and pretty...
Can you do a video on what to do with a healed blowout or healed ears that had complications, like if you started stretching 10 years ago and did stupid stuff because the education wasn’t out there.
I started stretching with glass plugs. I’m currently at 8g but 6g is too big of a jump so I wrapped twice with ptfe tape and it ripped a little in my ear. Obviously I should’ve waited longer, it had been only a month since I stretched last. I took the ptfe tape off and put the plug back in by itself but I’m not sure if I should take it out all together. It was a very small tear and it only bleed for a minute but I don’t want to risk any further issues. Basically what I’m trying to say is id love a video on what to do if something like this comes up. I love your blog and Instagram/Reddit posts! I love learning about body modifications and hopefully one day I could earn an apprenticeship somewhere!
do deadstretching with 1mm incriments!! i buy my plugs from arctic buffalo, check them out for middle sizes. btw, they are glass! so light and smooth! they also sell an ear butter that i do enjoy but if you dont want it, i suggest coconut oil, jojoba oil, vitamin e oil.
I wouldn’t suggest it since surgical steel is pretty low quality. It contains nickel which many folks are allergic to and I see it cause reactions and slow stretching processes for folks all the time.
My mentor has told me that it’s best to use tapers to stretch when you just get started, ex: using a taper to go from an 18 to a 16/ 16-14… what are your thoughts on this?
Tapers aren’t really necessary even as smaller sizes often! I cover this in my stretching guide and on my website. Now some stubborn scarred ears may need tapers but for many they aren’t needed
They are made of low quality materials, often painted or coated which can come off an damage the ear. And they are famous for becoming stuck inside peoples ears and needing to be cut out, often causing blow outs.
I just started my stretching journey using glasswear studio single flair. I'm currently at a 16g (1.3mm). Do I need to wait 3 months before going to a 14g or is the 3 month period for the larger sizes like 3mm and larger?
Are stainless steel okay? I’ve been using acrylic tapers and everything I’ve seen has said their bad, but I don’t want to use glass since my job hazards might crack or break them and that kinda scares me
I started stretching with tapers but about 6 months or so I got glass plugs but one of my ears will not stretch at all :// can it be it’s something I’m doing wrong? I usually clean them after I shower every day

But the only thing I own is the acrylic plugs I bought before I knew they were bad. Basically, I need like the cheapest safe option I can get because I don't want my ears to be fucked up, but I can also barely afford to feed myself right now. I just need smth to hold this size so I can save up for bigger ones. Halp 😭
