If it was bottoming out, you'd hear a loud metal-on-metal clicking sound while he's playing it with the trunk open, all from the bottom of the voice coil hitting the back of the magnet. Besides, there's no way he'd be bottoming out a sub that can handle 1500W rms with only 900W. If anything, he'd be clipping the amp, but I didn't hear any clipping. Please, for the love of god, don't confuse trunk rattle with bad quality sound.

Good stuff.

Not being big enough, and it wasn't tuned to spec, but lessen learned the hard way. By trusting the people at the car audio place I went to. At the time. people. People have different opinions and prefer a different sound. The place I went to. Put my 9500 12". In a fully sealed enclosure. It ruined it. I had it pushing about 1000rms at 2ohm. I had a MTX thunder elite 1501d amp and it smoked it. If it was in a tuned vented enclosure. Like the one. I have on my 15" now. It wouldn't even have happened. My 15" sounds way better and its getting about 200 less rms. I got a cerwin vega amp. The manual says. It's 660rms at 2ohm, but cerwin vega amps. Are known to be underrated. So I don't know the exact rms. It's giving the sub. I never asked. Due to it sounds great. With no issues.
I finally got to save up n get the armor coated single 12 in box to put my power aucustic Gothic that i had n a seald box n ya it hits way harder but sounds like shit like something loose or air rattling thought was the old box causing it to sound like guess not 😢

He just sits there with his phone and when the bass kicks in he just bobs his head. Sounds like a lot of port noise with that small port. I've heard these woofers in real life do a ton more damage on cheap ass ghetto hifonics amps but the box was a horn loaded enclosure with a lot more port area.

Go with a matching (RMS) AMP, MATCHING (SPECS) box, and the subwoofer, do the big 3 upgrade, one extra battery, and all 0 gauge ofc (oxygen free copper) wire, and it will be a system of your wildest dreams, like any other system, feeding the beast is key here brother/sister. Do it right and it will never disapoint.
Yes me too. I currently have one skar ZVX 12 powered by one Skar RP 3500 wired at 2 ohms. It definitely gets the job done but I just can’t turn the amp up all the way. The gain is close to being flat and my bass EQ and subsonic levels are half way. But the sub is definitely capable of handling some power !

I am confused on this video.....Sub wired @ 1ohm...amp outputs 4500+ @ 1ohm yet is said to be getting 900 watts..... So amp gain is all the way down and ipad volume @ 25% and supplying .1v or so to amp input? (real rough guess). I am betting this was actually wired to 4ohm, not 1 ohm.....
If you've got room for the enclosure then I say go for it. Have you considered two twelves instead? Would take up even more space obviously, but you've got more surface area with two twelves than a single fifteen. It's been years since I owned a fifteen inch sub (it was a late 90s Kicker Competiton model, which used to be hot shit back in the day for teenagers LOL) but I distinctly remember how much louder and cleaner the pair of JL Audio 12W3s I replaced it with sounded. Not apples to oranges, I get that, but they were somewhat similar designs and I used the same amp so the increase in sound piston surface area was most likely what explained the improvement. Just my opinion, I'm no expert. Have fun!
Sundown always puts out more than rated and if you have good electrical and not alot of box rise then yes it will put out rated and more all day all night long.
1 , 15 can push just as much air if not more air then 2 12's. Its just a matter of getting that air movement. whatever it takes to get it moving at the right hz causing the sound waves to crush your face inside your vehicle.

For someone who's job is selling audio and doing demo's. ..you need a way cleaner install. If you're just testing out audio for the company and always swapping stuff out, then I understand. But either way, good video.
if anything, showing the sub can perform on a cheap setup (wires/box ect) just does it more justice
