Great idea: A bit of something smelly (like jerky) and likely to be tasty that would be a very high value treat placed in a plastic bag containing kibble so that it takes on the smell of the very high value treat. Could be very useful for increasing the value of basic kibble for training.

Please explain the mechanism whereby a double coat helps keep a dog cool. I'm not denying it, I'm simply asking for an explanation as it does not make sense to me. I recognize that it could act as insulation to help stop the dog getting hot, but if the dog is in 30C heat for an extended period, I think you're a fool if you think the coat is going to keep the dog cool. The same goes for if the dog is very active and heats up that way. A thick double coat will NOT keep that dog cool.
