- Golden Retrievers like some weird things. Some are funny, some are natural dog behaviors that seem strange to humans, and others are just Golden Retrievers being Golden Retrievers.
From puppies to senior dogs, all Goldens can be goofy, and in this video you’ll see some of the weirdest things they like to do.

I love being able to pet my puppy while on the potty

My golden is the best guard dog ever.
Anytime we are in a boat, camper, tent, rv, ect. and any two legged creatures come around He grumbles.
I mean rig would never hurt someone but he'll definitely tell me if something is there.

Also when you're going to the bathroom is also one of the times when you're the most vulnerable so they want to protect you, just like they would in a pack. At least that's a theory that me and my friends have.

Just picked up the poop from my goldens mouth because she loves to eat feces. Im talking every day. So no i cant agree with you :p
They also come in the bathroom to protect there fellow fang mwmber when your vulnerable with your pants down. They come in to gaurd you back during poo time
Goldens like to roll in dead things. Then they have to love getting a bath while their owner keeps their nose as far away as they can
My golden never comes in the bathroom even with treats she timidly walks in just enough to take it then she sits out side the door. My dogs extra wierd I guess lol

Yup, my golden loves to de-stuff his toys and shred toilet rolls and egg cartons. So we pop a few treats in the egg carton and leave him to it. The mess is usually pretty easy to clean up and it keeps him happy. We get toy stuffing all over the garden. It's just one of those things. My husband's family golden didn't destroy his toys though, so it's not a given.

i can attest to all things here except the destruction of toys lol. our golden is about 10 and 1/2, and has about 80 plush toys because he doesn't destroy them 😂😂😂 I've always said that he's a weirdo, but that's why I love him :)
But the routine one is DEFINITELY true for him. every morning I wake up he's right there waiting to do our morning routine (after getting some butt scratches. of course 😀 )
Ciao GH. I’ve had 3 beautiful Goldens over the pass 20 years. Two of my boys passed away from Cancer. This Fall I’ll be ready again to be a Golden dad. Any recommendations for a breeder that has a superior reputation for breeding healthy, beautiful Goldens with great dispositions? New to your Golden videos and they’re awesome. All my best, Rob

Hello Golden Hearts! I have a question,
Me and my parents have been planning on getting a Golden Retriever in the very new future! I’ve always loved the breed despite never owning one myself, I’m quite educated on dog training as I plan to train service dogs as a future job. However, I do have a question about *timing*
My parents work full time, about 8-12 hours a day and sometimes will come home for lunch. I have school 7 hours a day, my sister gets off a few hours sooner…
there is obviously summer vacation, which I will be home with the puppy all day everyday for about 2 months. But by 2 months the puppy will still be a puppy (assuming we get him/her at about 8 weeks of age.) do you have any advice on how to care for a puppy if you’re working full time? Like, how to keep up with training and potty breaks? Thanks!
Great question! Many people hire professional dog walkers to help with the walks and potty breaks during the day. As far as training goes, you can do most of the training you need to do with your puppy in the morning before work or school and in the evening after.

Hey I have a question. I have a golden retriever that is 3 months old. I was wondering where would be best for me to put my golden retriever while I'm at work. I have a crate in my house, I have a baby gate in my hallway, and I also have a fenced in backyard. Currently I take my golden to my grandparents while I work but I would like to relieve them of this duty on days I work. What would you recommend?
Great question Kory! Would it be possible for a dog walker or even your grandparents to swing by to walk your Golden? A full day is a long time for a Golden Retriever puppy to be alone.
I used to leave our Golden in our fenced in backyard when working. A bucket full of fresh water. Toilet time when he needed it. If left too long Goldens can get anxious and may dig holes, or exhibit other unwanted behaviours. I agree that a dog walker would be a worthwhile expense. Hope all works out for you.
I think buying my dog new toys after he destroys them is more expensive then the bills😭😂
