    I have long maintained that the impact guns at tire shops should have the adjustment welded at the lowest setting so those young kids can't break studs and warp rotors.

    I know I’m two years too late but I’m hoping you might still answer. How did you manage to get the crankshaft bolt out? Mine is beyond a pain to remove and I can’t get it with my Electric nor Pneumatic impact. I tried using my breaker bar and can’t really get much leverage and the pulley turns. Do I have to seize the pulley somehow? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

      If its that tight, get whats called a hammer socket, its a really heavy socket, really thickwalled, works as a tq multiplier, think the one i have was like 25 bucks on amazon

      well the impact wuld be best @ 300bls, or remove the starter & block rotation of the flywheel with vice'grips or a pry'bar,
      then apply yor breaker'bar

    I got my engine mount out but i cant figure out how to get the bracket that connects the motor mount to the motor covering the timing cover… i have the 3 bolts closest to the front of the car removed but the back bolt is loosened but i can’t seem to get the bolt out… I know in your video you said you had to move the cover and bolt at the same time but i cant figure it out😢

    • @bigjim11566
      @bigjim11566  10 месяцев назад +2

      The bolt cant come out seperate, you have to turn down while wiggling it around, and it comes out facing down an bolt will fall out, just make sure to put bolt in while installing, you cannot get in once bracket in place, i forget now if i had motor lowered or raised, but that motor mount is hardest part of the job

      @@bigjim11566 thanks i was able to get it off. Another question..now that i have the camshaft gears back on the timing marks are not lined up.. the rear is at 9 oclcok and 3 oclock horizontally and the front cam gear is vertical going 12 o’clock and 9 oclcok….how do i adjust them to like up correctly dead center with them being so different? Does one of the gears turn by hand?

    • @bigjim11566
      @bigjim11566  10 месяцев назад +1

      The marks are straight across from each other, cant be 12&9 unless u mean 12&6, just easily turn can, if feel resistance stop, the 2.4 even though valves cant hir puston, they can hit each other, if have to, loosen cam clamps to close all valves an position then tq down, rear cam actually will be 1/2 tooth off to install belt, once set tension rotate motor twice an verify all 4 cam marks are in straight line, if not undo tension an reset belt

      @@bigjim11566 for the most part i got it out finally but im struggling getting the belt on without the gears moving out of alignment…trying to get the tension right for the belt just to slip on has been near impossible for me for some reason i dont understand why.. the few times i have got it on the gears moved before the belt got on.

    • @bigjim11566
      @bigjim11566  4 месяца назад +1

      @rico43stl its pretty straight forward, the motor mount removal is biggest hurdle to overcome, once out, inspect metal coolant lines behind it, you ding them, an if rusty, they will leak

    How the hell do you get that motor mount off it’s killing me

    • @bigjim11566
      @bigjim11566  5 месяцев назад

      If mean the one on block with long bolt, you must struggle to get body side off, then you gotta get where can turn it down for long bolt to fall out, move motor up an down while fighting it. Also check metal coolant lines, they are behind motor mount body side, if rusty with how bad you fight there BS design, it causes them to leak if rusty an now is time to change them

When your a single woman it's very hard to find someone to help ( I certainly don't have what a licensed mechanic would charge me ). I changed the bulb in my tail light and one would think that I climbed Mt. Everest 😂😅 Maybe I will go get a cigar
