You know for a fact that the gameplay they reveal at CitizenCon is going to be extraordinary. They will probably release 2.6 during CitizenCon then it's just a few months until planet fighting! I don't care how long this game takes to make if it means getting the dream!
Better wake up now. Star Citizen will disappoint you, no game can live up to the expectations and hype that this game has created. We'll get lots of eye candy, all sorts of detailed stuff (though most of it will be irrelevant, sadly), missions and npcs that get old fast, combined with shitty performance, unstable and insufficient servers, endless bugs, etc. Sure, it'll be the ultimate space game, which will allow players to "do it all". Graphics will be great, planetary transitions will be great, you'll be able to transition a lot between layers and probably have a lot of fun for a while... But, inevitably, the game mechanics will get old (sooner rather than later, judging by the PTU alpha, which got old a year ago), game elements, npcs and missions will get repetitive, a lot of expected features won't be there (watch all the "10 for the chairman" episodes, they are filled with "perhaps", "maybe in the future", "we are working in this direction", "we are hoping", etc.). There's no way they'll deliver "the dream" that a lot of people seem to be expecting. They invested a lot of time and money in creating the company, modifying CryEngine, creating the procedural technology for planets, creating new useless ships (like the Mustang), developing Arena Commander + the rest of demo modules, hiring bad actors for Squadron 42 (except for Gary), creating stupid merchandising products and irrelevant community content (sure, subscribers paid for it... but precious time and resources were still poured in the creation of all that content, which is ultimately irrelevant if the game doesn't deliver). I'm not trying to paint an apocalyptic picture here, I'm just telling you to be ready for a good measure of disappointment.
TBH amazing show. i always love tech talk because its real and allows it how things are progressing also there no bulshit from Sean cus he loves talkig about what there doing AND the challenges and everything isnt rosey
I also heard that around 03:25. It sounds like Windows 10's "ding!". I haven't used windows 8, so I can't say for sure if it's that, but I sure hope not...
I barely understand any of what he is saying. But thats perfect. I can just sit here and listen to how smart they are and feel the faith. I BELIEVE BROTHER ;-;
I loved how Eric kept nodding at Sean and repeating "that's awesome"... that's producer code for "I'm not getting jackshit, please, stop making me look like a fool".
Maybe if they just added support for it you wouldn't have to do the messy script work around. Especially coming from something like ED, it feels unplayable.
To hell with a damn guide or work around. I'm asking when will CiG get their shit together and support TrackIR like they did early on? All the damn employees they have and all the studios, they cant task 1 dev to get it implemented?
Well considering that you don't need it to play, and they have so many things that actually need to be implemented just so that you can play the base game still... I think we can wait.
Well to the best of my knowledge, CIG has only held Citizencon in cities where they already have studios. Thus unless and until they open up a studio in Brazil, I doubt it will happen. Sorry... :/
So... the little bit I spotted during the ATV 3.6 is reinforcing my hypothesis: female model and Star Marine will release simultaneously. Mark my words.
***** I have a legit level of excitement, now. Before, it was: "Okay, this looks pretty cool and they're being rather ambitious with it." Now, I'm starting to consider spending some money on this.
Dear StarCitizen team: I have a question about the cybernetic implants: Will they be in the game? (I'm talking about cyber-prosthetic arms and legs.) (Simply put: Will I be able to play a cyborg?) And one more thing: Will they be melee weapons? Thanks for answers. Sincerely, GameDoctor ^-^

Yes, definitely yes to all questions. Look into it. Deep RPG game.... If you look into the design docs for "simple things" like mining, and repairing you'll be amazed... May I give a suggestion ? When you read questions from people, try to learn a bit more about the game yourself and learn how to anticipate answers. That will give you ideas what people might like to hear. It will also give more freedom and ease your interview. Often I get an impression that Eric asks questions because he thinks it's his job and space must be filled with words. He has great attitude, but sometimes it comes little bit "artificial"
no problem man, the UEE (united earth empire) is allies with the xi'an and have not made contact with the kr'thak, but we know about the kr'thak because the xi'an have told us about them saying that they are enemies of the xi'an. The vanduul are an aggressive race that i believe the UEE is at war with right now. I don't know much about the banu, but i'm pretty sure they're kind of like neutrals and just like to trade with everyone even the vanduul. and the tevarin i think are extinct or very endangered as a result of the UEE basically destroying them in a previous war.
Just for once imagine putting ppl who worked behind a desk there hole lifes in front of a camera and be like: Dont mess up, there is going to be thousends of ppl watching! Would love to see you guys do better...
What are you going on about? The guy did fine, I'd like to see you do better. Having to tell people you downvoted shows what type of person you are. I'd suggest you join attention seekers anonymous, if you can find a space.
- these are professional software developers not movie stars - I wonder how 'cool' you would look if you were shoved in front of a camera? seriously, please provide a link to your RUclips channel so we can all scrutinize you.
"Capes"? What? Oh, no. Not with the capes. "Caaaaapes iiiiiinnn Spaaaaaccce..." haha No. Just... no. No capes please. C'mon. I'll be coming into this game after years of LOTRO as my primary gaming focus. Medieval fantasy MMO? Sure. Capes for everybody. But... Capes In Space? Really? Could we just NOT cater to the 12-year-olds for once? Please?
We don't need character damage states!! This is pure bloat, rag dolls and hit particle effects are enough for FPS.. Now start to improve performance and producing more content and polishing gameplay.
We need character damage states. Because the goal at the end is that a character can lose for example his arm and you can replace the arm with a bionic arm.
You don't need damage states for that and even what you are saying feels like bloat. Making on UI your arm turn black meaning incapable of recover and then you wake with a biotic arm is enough, also you probably would want to protect that bionic arm so you cover it in armor & a space suit which would mean it isn't even visible.
***** Yeah and you dont need damage states for ships because a UI is enough to show the damage of your ship or other ships. You know CR wants change the boundaries for PC AAA games, right?
Being ambitious is great, but the games premise is already hugely, wonderfully ambitious. From what we've seen so far (both in game and with in-engine presentations) it seems like they are ready to really pull off the seamless space, vehicle and FPS gameplay in an MMO all in a single game, in a way that hasn't been done before - but only if they don't go off down rabbit holes of really niche stuff. It's a bit worrying because in every video it seems they keep bringing up or hinting at new niche stuff, as happened with No Man's Sky, because people aren't able to say something like "That's an interesting idea and technically we could do it, but that's not something that's a priority and no-one is working on it." The question about asking about mixing and matching armour types on different legs (WAT) seems like a question designed to determine if there are any boundaries to what they won't say no to. Character damage models and swapping out limbs all sounds cool, but I would advocate first getting the game to a state where players don't regularly fall through the world, can explore without random app crashes and where textures load in properly and doors can do basic stuff like open and close and not trap you inside them (and where, conversely, walls and floors, do contain you inside them). I say this in particular as it's using an existing engine, by people who know that engine really well, so falling through the world within 60 seconds of trying it the first time in 2.5 was…unexpected. I appreciate they are doing significant new stuff with the engine to join all the elements together, but I did expect floors, walls and doors to mostly work. I hope the bug fixes for some of the major things in 2.5 get addressed in near future releases and they don't wait to rush to patch all the bugs only when it's closer to release, otherwise I'd expect a bunch of those issues will just end up persisting into the release version. If 2.6 nails a bunch of major bugs in 2.5 and the direction remains generally forward that's very promising. If they largely persist as long as 3.0, and the game is still in the same state and new stuff is still being added then I'm going to start to having a hard time believing the game is going to reach a point where it's stable. Although crunch time fixes of games in really buggy states just prior to launch definitely happens to get playable games out the door, it would burn people out, almost certainly show in the end result and be a terrible precedent for an MMO we expect to see continuously worked on after launch.
They need to add height adjustment to the characters. Otherwise men will be more likely to select female characters because they're smaller and harder to hit.
Juha Heikkilä It's really a difficult thing to balance out. I feel that the bigger a character is the more damage he should take. I believe that could be a fair balancing system. I'm also curious to see if we will be able to condition or "level up" our characters.
I paid, I downloaded, I played for 2 days and decided star citizen sucks and went back to Elite Dangerous. If they can't get it right after all these years and all that money, they never will.
When Star Citizen is finished, and if it has half of what they are promising, I will definitely be playing it again. But as it stands now it's not worth $45
no, pretty much all the features will not be met by 3.0. A decent amount maybe, but not all and not close to all. And in response to OP, the difference here is we are able to play the alpha and new things are added all the time. We see the things they promise being added into the game, not a big lie like NMS.
Played for 4 hours and it felt like every gameplay mechanic was designed for a 5 year old. No depth in gameplay whatsoever. Got insanely bored after first hour, but wanted to see a few different planets. I can't believe it gets ratings above 4/10.
No man's sky get's boring after a cpl hours. Star Citizen is still in Alpha. Once it is fully built and released in a couple years, it will be epic and make no mans sky look like Star Fox.
Great episode. Always interesting listening to Josh and Sean.
Always look forward to seeing Sean Tracy.
lol saw the episode was 40 minutes and thought who do they have Sean and damn they did.
Sean Tracy hype!
sean tracy = smasung 961 512GB boooyah jus for SC :D

Man... The RTV are sooooooo good now. And the 40-45 min show is perfect. Props to the CIG community team 👍
These new format RTVs are almost a tutorial on game development. The nerd in me finds them immensely interesting!
Thank you at all CIG crew for the hard work. Great show with beautiful informations.
SEAN TRACY The best XD
Really like this show. Good job chaps.
It's been ineradicable to see the evolution and refinement of all the different studios. Great episode guys.

*Goreuncle* Rigggghhhhhtttttt...
Almost all backers already love Star Citizen on his shitty alpha state, so I doubt they are going to disappoint us, it can only get better.
LoL. So many points here don't make ANY sense.....
That was a nice, internally-inconsistent rant, which - for some reason - reminds me of Billy Madison...
TBH amazing show. i always love tech talk because its real and allows it how things are progressing also there no bulshit from Sean cus he loves talkig about what there doing AND the challenges and everything isnt rosey
Pilfering Sean Tracy from Cryengine? Five Star move. Hearing him answer the question about the current SC Cry Engine build at 37:11 is solid gold.
It's crazy. Seeing developers care a lot about their game is quite shocking. This is a new feeling. I love it. I love you star citizen!
Sean Tracy for President! ;)
😂
Who else looked around frantically on their pc at the 3:26 mark?
I think Windows 10 (maybe 8, haven't run it so I don't know its sounds) really wants in on videos, this isn't the only video i've run into it.
they really need to mute systems sounds and skype when doing vids.
I also heard that around 03:25. It sounds like Windows 10's "ding!". I haven't used windows 8, so I can't say for sure if it's that, but I sure hope not...
I just noticed a double(triple?) "ding!" that is a lot worse at 24:30... Dear CIG, please tighten up in this area!
Please let Sean host and talk more!
Sean is the man.
This episode is EPIC.
I barely understand any of what he is saying. But thats perfect. I can just sit here and listen to how smart they are and feel the faith. I BELIEVE BROTHER ;-;
I loved how Eric kept nodding at Sean and repeating "that's awesome"... that's producer code for "I'm not getting jackshit, please, stop making me look like a fool".
The new ATV and RTV format is great !!!
More professional. More content. More ships !
Thank You!
Great job guys.
My character is totally going to be rocking a cigar all the time.
Really digging the theme song!
Sean Tracy is legit one of my favorite developers ever haha
When are we getting some damn TrackIR support?
Maybe there's a guide on the Reddit?
Maybe if they just added support for it you wouldn't have to do the messy script work around. Especially coming from something like ED, it feels unplayable.
To hell with a damn guide or work around. I'm asking when will CiG get their shit together and support TrackIR like they did early on? All the damn employees they have and all the studios, they cant task 1 dev to get it implemented?
Well considering that you don't need it to play, and they have so many things that actually need to be implemented just so that you can play the base game still... I think we can wait.
The game is not in beta stage and TrackIR is not relevant forr 99% of the player base.
The bobbleheading is killing me.
Hi guys, which Headset do you use?
Anyone else having trouble with the sound not tracking the video?
I really miss the old informal "Reverse the Verse", where they talked about food trucks and star wars figurines.. : (
I think the armour at the beginning actually looked better in white.
16:00 maybe face recognition like in EQ2?
i hope that in the future we will have a game which is basicaly a
combination of mass effect and star citizen ... combined with VR :D
22:30 HOW MANY JOINTS ITS GONNA TAKE!
Initial reports indicate there will be many joints involved!
I REALLY, REALLY hope they have a sculpting-style character creation system. Like in EVE Online and Fallout 4.
Info on the game is cool and all, but I want to know that does the Panic Button at 0:20 does.
When urs make citizencon in Brazil? Brazil haves great fans of SC
Well to the best of my knowledge, CIG has only held Citizencon in cities where they already have studios. Thus unless and until they open up a studio in Brazil, I doubt it will happen. Sorry... :/
South America needs more love. As an Argentinian I support my Brazilian brother!
+El Moro Cristiano Yes!! Well ... Lets hope world launch ... !! I support Argentina too ! Both countries have too many players
+Chris Berry lol !!! But ... Greatest games event we dont have 😔
does anyone know how to save your game progress for this game
You sleep inside your ship and it will save (and possibly inside stations)
tnx
So did anybody already create a gif from the lando slide in :P ?
So... the little bit I spotted during the ATV 3.6 is reinforcing my hypothesis: female model and Star Marine will release simultaneously. Mark my words.
***** Should have been done ages ago. We'll see what updates happen and what CitCon shows, eh?

whats the headphones these guys are using ?
Audio Technica, but dont recognise the model.
Anyone know more?
yep cus the microphone placement seems realy nice.. hate these crazy gaming headphones were the microphone is somewere at the side
Dear StarCitizen team:
I have a question about the cybernetic implants:
Will they be in the game?
(I'm talking about cyber-prosthetic arms and legs.)
(Simply put: Will I be able to play a cyborg?)
And one more thing:
Will they be melee weapons?
Thanks for answers.

this interviewer is really good
When is this game coming out? Next year?
Squadron 42 will probably come out next year. I'd estimate the full release to be in 2018.
If I live near Los Angeles, can I just crash Citizencon? :P

Otherwise men will be more likely to select female characters because they're smaller and harder to hit.

You are first though
Congratulations, you've won the interwebs!

And I don't think one system with barely any mechanics was the original vision
Why dont they just make the female the same height
I don know i would have no problem with it, in the future could be the same, why not.
MeGusta109 Yeah but it would be easier for the devs to make her the same height. It wouldn't bother me at all honestly.
Mr Rodgers Me neither, its not really Important. It would if you make height changeble for all chars.
Kaiserinmeli yea
No man's sky seems better than this little game.
give me Asteroids on the Atari 2600 any day.
Chris Fokjohn seems the bait wasn't too weak after all
it was obvious... but i dont see the point of it
