I bought the PS5 bundle for this game as a life long FF fan and although I don't enjoy alot of this game, This part alone was worth it all. Kupka felt like the only Villain that had meaning to the party. Ultima is a narrative stand in for the antithesis of the party's ideals, Barnabas is too tied to Ultima for him to stand on his own, Lesage is too much of a shadowy scumbag and Benedikta is more pivotal to Cid's story. Kupka hits everyone in our party's heart, he's the one that we have a bone to pick with most. Kupka was also the most grounded enemy and had a great conflict with Clive. Combine the game's best character conflict with the amazing Ifrit gameplay and we have a masterpiece like this. This music is all Soken. As soon as I heard the music it made me think of the Alexander fight along with titan fight in Final Fantasy 14 so I had to check it out and it was Soken who composed the entire soundtrack. The man drops bangers.
Loving the game. Just combat needs more dept to it. It just feels empty not using magic or limit attacks. The game would be a perfect FF entry if it had the command menu syetem. Ik limit is a thing here but its just a burst of basic attacks not a special move like Clouds Omnislash or Cross slash. And with magic just doesnt really have much emptisize in this game unlike 15 7R or KH series. The command menu system from ff15/ff7r/KH series was already action focused. Dont see a point going full hack and slash. Def if they bring this combat back they need to improve the magic usage and give more combos.
