dont you just love it when the main character's theme kicks in? i know it's such an easy trick to get you hyped up. but i fcking love it every damn time. even more so when it's such a god damn banger like this one.
Such a triumphant theme as well. It really fits this moment of Clive accepting himself and deciding to become more than the monster he sees himself as.
What better way to obtain the Limit Break than to make the main character accept and atone for his past? And you can't deny it looks fucking RAW! Plus, _just_ for this fight, that Semi-Prime state is PERMANENT. The game basically just gave you the hype and it's yours to keep!

Masayoshi Soken has produced some amazing tracks not just for FF XVI, but for FF XIV as well. And some of them even have a story behind them. For instance, "Sunrise" is the theme of Suzaku, and the female lyrics are performed by the same woman who also voices Suzaku in Japanese....and that woman (who is a professional singer, and IIRC, her name is Yoshino Nanjo) was an avid fan of FF XIV from the start who had asked Soken for a favor (I can't remember what the favor was exactly), and he agreed....on the condition that Yoshino voice Suzaku and perform the lyrics for Suzaku's theme. And then there's "To The Edge", which Soken composed _from a hospital bed while fighting cancer_ of all things! Soken pretty much doesn't miss with his music in my experience. When Nobuo Uematsu pretty much retired from the position of the main composer for the Final Fantasy franchise, I was admittedly concerned that nobody would be able to live up to Uematsu's legacy. After hearing Soken's work once he took over however, I can comfortably say that the franchise is in great hands as far as the music goes, he put my worries to rest very quickly. If you've ever considered trying FF XIV, I can't recommend it enough. It starts off a bit slow, but once you get past A Realm Reborn (the original story prior to the release of any of the expansions) and get into the level 50+ stuff in Heavensward, stuff really starts to get good, and it only gets better from there. FF XIV is the only pay-to-play MMO I've ever been a part of, and it's likely going to remain that way. Not only is the game itself superb, but the player/fan community is one of the nicest and most friendly I've ever been a part of. Us "veterans" of FF XIV love to see new people joining the world and experiencing the game for the first time, and we're always ready and willing to lend a hand or offer advice when needed, all you need to do is ask. :) Plus the game has a free trial, which IIRC includes both A Realm Reborn & Heavensward (so you can access content all the way up to level 60). Plus there's plenty to do, from following the main story, to crafting, to spending time at the Gold Saucer, and so on.
This game had dozens of "holy fucking shit" fun moments. But personally, my favorite just "hype" moment goes to Ifrit's spirit bomb style hellfire against Typhon.

The goosebumps when Clive said "youre not Ifrit.... I am..." Suggesting that he finally tamed the demon inside him and made him into his own power instead of Ifrit controlling him, he now controls Ifrit without fear
FF16 was generally a terrifying experience, in the most beautiful way. Even certain scenes where nothing happened were particularly unsettling. The subtly in this game is just perfect 👌
