Yeah, the only reason prime Robert isn't considered the best swordsman of all time is because he didn't use a sword, he probably could've soloed the Tower of Joy kingsguard trio from what we've heard about him.
Just found you guys recently and you remind me very much of an old channel called “GameSocietyPimps.” Two guys playing video games with good humor. You lads are hilarious, keep making good videos! Especially appreciate your humorous takes on Viserys III and Chad Bobby B.
In one of the chapters in the first book during a feast. Robert gets drunk (shocker) and throws a fit because Cersei let him fight in a melee. When Jamie try’s to calm him down he pushes Jamie down laughing and saying “even now I could still throw you to the dirt kingslayer” or something close to that. If old drunk fat Robert can knock Jamie with one hand prime Robert with lethal intent is gonna run through him.
I think he names the sword “Shepherd’s Crook.” Hear me out; a shepherd’s crook, for those who don’t know, is a tool used to guide Sheep but also defend from predators. Tywin previously told Jaime that “a Lion does not concern himself with the opinion of the sheep” which at the time was fitting for Jaime’s outlook on those that were not his family. Tywin meant it as demeaning, suggesting anyone not bearing their name is beneath them and therefore their ideals and opinions do not matter. After Jaime starts to become a man his philosophy changes, and he becomes more of a protector towards those very sheep that his father so clearly looked down upon. It would be a wonderful showing of how he viewed his skill with a sword, before he saw it as a way to win himself glory and more of a sport thanks to his arrogance; now he sees his skill as a tool to protect and guide those who can not defend themselves. A little sentimental but I think it would be poetic for his character as now he doesn’t just concern himself with the opinions of sheep but their lives as well, a trait we see always in him but never truly able to shine.
Very happy I've found y'alls channel! You tell it how it is. I hope to one day see a video on the great Daemon Blackfyre and how daeron the illborn stopped the greatest king the realm could have had.
Another hilarious yet informative one lads 😂 as a side note, my left hand is maimed from an assault on me a few years back, when its cold, my hand feels it x10... Probably need a padded glove with a big ass spiked gauntlet, kinda like a medieval power fist or something
Not exactly a "golden" hand, but definitely one made of Iron, hell it worked for Gotz of the Iron Hand, real dude, real fucking gigachad, dude was a mercenary knight would would walk into a city just to pick a fight, not with any one person in particular... he would pick a fight with a CITY. Homes lost his hand during a battle, could've been through swordplay, could've been artillery fire, we're not entirely sure. But what we do know is he had made a few iron hands to replace his that were quite advanced for the time period, the fingers could even articulate and be used to grip a blade or a quill. He was once so notorious that he had a few massive bounties put on him and was branded an outlaw by the Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire himself, TWICE. He might also be ground zero for the phrase "kiss my ass"... so theres that.
Of course Robert wins, he uses a hammer against armor and he is also a natural heavyweight, no chance for prince charming here, swords are useless against armor, even when fighting with swords and armor the best wrestler wins
I think Tywin probably gets assassinated. He's sadly too juicy of a target. He's clearly the lynch pin to the Lannisters since Cersei HATE bone for Tyrion basically means the three children can't act as a hivemind Tywin to replace him if he dies. Sure, I can see Jamie and Tyrion growing to become the tactical brilliance and brain of a new hivemind, Tywin, but Cersei is going to be the bad egg. But I believe that Jamie and Tyrion could actually keep the realm together. This would overall make the Lannister grip harder to destroy, but still... Tywin is 100% a target that any sort of tactical minded individual would want to take out. And it'd likely delay attempts to assassinate Dumberys, as there would be some disray for a bit. But yeah.
I like the name “Lion’s Pride” for the sword. Given the fact that with his hand, Jamie would still have all of his arrogance and he is still very much family first (so much so that he keeps it in the family), I think the double meaning fits perfectly.
Given how unathletic Nikolaj Coster-Waldau looked against Ned and Brienne BEFORE he lost his hand, I don't think it would have changed anything. The TV version of Jamie sucked at swordfight choreography, and he would have been defeated by Robin Arryn in single combat. Book Jamie would have been delivered to the Boltons and then tortured by Ramsey to the dismay of Roose, then gotten sent back to Kings Landing minus a different body part. His golden hand would have been replaced with a golden you-know-what, which means he'd never suffer from ED while he's banging his sister, with the added bonus of no more bastard kids that die before they reach adulthood. Win/win, everyone lives happily ever after, roll credits.
Loving these what ifs! They remind me of the X-Men what if comics and I love that shit. I love this universe for some stupid reason and this makes it even better😂
It makes way more sense for Jaime to keep "Oathkeeper" with the Lannister Lions, he'd probably name it "Honor" in line with Vigilance(Hightower) & Truth(Rogare). In almost a sarcastic way, with people like Karen of the North asking " Have you no honor" so he could be like " Yeah, See?" While Widow's Wail with a combination of the Baratheon Stag(Renly) and Lannister colors is a perfect symbolic amalgam of the 2 men Brienne Loved/respects
9:45 i Would put sharp pointy edge on gauntlet on the end of my stump when its time to fight for sure, if i am travelling and might get ambushed or something like that. So game of thrones has weaponry from the ages when gauntlets and all type of different weird weapons were used, because of armor.
I think the deciding factor in Lannisters vs. Stannis &/or Targaryens is where Cersei is. Like, I agree the High Sparrow isn't gonna run the show like he does in the og timeline but if Cersei gives him even a little power that could be the start of cascading problems. Death by a thousand cuts kind of thing.
Robert in his prime vs Jaime with two hands... I think this one could go either way but I'd give the advantage to Robert. One hit and Jaime's a goner. Jaime would need some really fast feet to to stay out of the way of Robert's hammer and then there's the reach disadvantage to take into consideration. Widow's Wail I think is a reference to Catelyn's grief and I believe Jaime would still give Brienne Oath Keeper. That was Ned's sword and I'd wager Jaime might just get the ick every time he looks at the blade.
Jamie would still be able to engage in a spot of "self loving" when Cersei's not around witthout the significantly increased risk of contracting tetanus that inevitably resulted from fitting of a decidedly unsanitary metal substitute.
If Jaime is released from the Kingsguard, I think Tywin sets up an Alliance with someone perhaps with Dorne or The Iron Island or Tarth through Marriage with Jaime
I don’t watch GoT but dude the actor that plays this lannister dude, he would make an amazing "Rick Grimes" in the walking dead since Rick Grimes also gets bent over a table and gets his right hand severed off by a knife by a dude who looks similar af to the guy who cut jaime’s hand off
robert vs jamie both in prime is kinda a fun topic because jamie is a better swords man than rhagar and rhagar nearly killed robert at the trident, but at the same time robert is so ungodly strong that one hit from his warhammer would either kill you or break your sword. but I think we have to give it to jamie for two reason when Robert was fighting rhagar he was upset asf because he was fighting the person he hates the most and it also seemed like rhagar was trying to explain to Robert that lyanna didn't love him which would make him even more angry ( we know this because the last word rhagar said before he died was lyanna) but with all the rage behind his strength robert barely won against rhagar and couldn't fight for months afterwards. with jamie on the other hand he wouldn't have all that rage and jamie is better than rhagar as well so jamie should take it more times than not.
In regards to Trail by Combat champions need to accept, people can declare a champion but it can be refused if you look back on the first trail for Tyrion he had to ask for volunteers.
