    I think Judy was one of those characters who lifted a scene just by being there, even when she didn't have a lot to do. She left a big hole when she left, and the show was never quite the same again.

      I agree

      She was the central character to a number of plotlines related to a big hole when she was on the show.

    Such a great character and those early years proved what an excellent actress Betty Bobbitt was. The character had such a full backstory and every Judy story linked to the next one. RIP Betty.

    Betty Bobbitt looks much slimmer in 1980. She really piles a lot of weight on by 1984

      Never noticed that.
      She looked the same size over the years to me.

      True. She looked half the size, prettier and much younger at the beginning. She was a psycho though, a real tough bunny boiler. They completely changed her character quite quickly.

    I liked Judy. The storyline with her and Jock Stewart was one of the best. As time when on though she wasn't really given much to do. That halfway house bored me terribly. And when she got put back inside after Bea left there didn't seem to be much point left to her character.

      I agree the storyline with Jock Stewart was the best, I thought he had a nerve asking Judy for help when he fell down the stairs, after all the things he did to her.

      @@JohnLee-pt5jz True, but he was desperate. Besides, people like that will mostly try to serve their own best interests whatever the situation.

      The block of flats where she pushed Jock down the stairs and broke his back is still standing in Dandenong Rd Oakleigh.

    I hated what the new Wentworth did to her character, as they are absolutely nothing alike in personality or motive. They should have just created a new character instead of retconning such a major staple of the original show.

      “Ta, mate”-I’m right behind you on that one. I wish Wentworth would of used Judy’s character from the original PCBH! It would made a very intriguing story and pay tribute to such a loving/motherly yet complex character!! I did NOT like how they built their Judy Bryant- they built her to make you hate her from the start-right up to her death at the end. Rest In Peace- Betty Ann Bobbitt

    I was lucky to Betty twice. First time was at the supermarket and the second time was at her book signing. She was a lovely lady

    Loved Judy in the early years up until she was sent back to Wentworth for helping Hazel die. Her character became a weak wuss in her final year.

    • @Redsleather
      @Redsleather Год назад +2

      Agreed. The halfway house was the change in character and Bryant’s final years were awful. Betty Bobbitt just didn’t know how to play her any more without the overacting and hysterical lines

      She was fine from 1980-82. The writers completely changed her and she became nothing but a hysterical, shrieking bore from 1982-84
