I am having the best time watching all your Prisononer episodes from day 1...Thanks god you posted them all. You have done a monumental task. Thankyou, thank you ,you, thankyou...
Colleen Powell/ Judith McGrath entered Wentworth in episode 48. She was certainly one of PCBH most developed characters. I will miss seeing Po Face !! Thanks Judith !!
Judith McGrath turned what could have been a cliched character into quit a well rounded and original character , at times her believable acting was far too good for the standards of this show I'll miss her sardonic wit , I think a lot of that came from Judith McGrath may she rest in peace.
Colleen was one of the best characters in Prisoner, I really liked her, Vera, Erica, Ann and Meg and of course Bea. Was really sad to hear that Judith McGrath who played her had died. She and Gerda Nicholson (Mrs Reynolds) died far too soon
I felt really sorry for Joan at Colleen's leaving do. I so get that social awkwardness and feeling like the misfit Maggie K captures it so well...I loved Powell too. I will really miss her, even more so than Lizzie and Bea.. She was strict, but fair. I remember that time she and Meg went out in civvies with Lizzie and pretended to be her daughter to impress Lizzie's old friend...so funny. Colleen was kind of long-suffering with the women. She had a warm heart alongside that dry wit. Thanks, Judith McGrath. You were brilliant.
I find it hard to feel sorry for Joan because she is so mean, although I do understand that social anxiety at times. (I've got a little better at it as I get a little older). But I still can't believe that Judith McGrath has passed away. She was only seventy. Such a shame as she was a fine actress.
Yes I do feel sorry for Joan at the party. I have been in situations like that with social anxiety, where your standing around at a party you try make friendly conversation with people but nothing works, you feel drained and arkward wondering why you bothered.... I'm very sad at Judith McGrath's passing.
I didn't know that she died. I am so sorry to hear that and thank you for the update. 70 is too early to die, any age is. This show came out over 39 years go and so most of these characters are in their 50s, 60s, and possibly in their 80s if Patsy King has lived that long. Pasty King is Erica Davidson.
I really wish that Colleen Powell had stayed on until the end of the show but wow - what an exit! Quite an amazing arc for her as a character during her run. She came good in the end. Judith McGrath was an absolute legend. RIP Judith and thank you. Thank goodness Meg got Deputy Governor; certainly took Ferguson down a few notches.
Sure, Meg got Deputy Governor for now. But, Joan remedies that in no time at all. She does to Meg what would send her on a bashing spree if someone had done it to her.
Thankfully, the Freak doesn’t keep all of the governors, officers, inmates and anyone else down for long, no more than she stays down for long either. 😃
Explosive episode as well as a very sad episode...Farewell Mrs. Powell...I will say I will miss you as much as the others who have left...Especially your sarcasm...As it's been years since her passing...R.I.P. Judith McGrath...☹🥲🥲🥲
my favourite bit of Colleens sarcastic wit was when Ann was on a break and Joan was talking to Colleen and Joan accused Ann of crumbling under pressure and then Colleen read out a list of things that needed doing which Joan approved of and Joan didn't think it was down to Ann and Colleen said "no, they were her orders... (Just before she crumbled.)" " LMAO we will miss you Colleen Po Face Powell! Xx
Judith McGrath as Colleen Powell came in on Prisoner on episode 48 and leaves on episode 456 that brings her to starring in 408 episodes. Strange how you can get attached to characters on shows like this but it certainly happened with Judiths character.
7:43 I believe this is the first time we have met Mr. Barry. Mrs. Barry is all giddy and bubbly when away from Wentworth, delivering her lines almost like an opera singer. Or is she just tipsy?
Po Face was a great character and very believable as a screw. Judith McGrath went on to another much loved Aussie show; A country practice. She then went on to play a senior nurse Vonnie with much the same personality as Colleen in a hospital drama called All Saints. Now that Judith has died I'll miss Po Face all the more.
Considering the age of the show I'm surprised most of the cast are still alive. Betty Bobbit died last year. They are all years older than me (actor as Suzy Driscal, only a year older). I stopped watching in early 1982, too busy working. Now I'm searching through the hundreds of later episodes I never saw, especially chasing up final appearences. This is a nice eppisode, it's good to see Meg get the job she deserves. The cars the actors drove, reflected a lot about their character.
8:00 Joan talking to Colin after being introduced to each other by Anne.. "You're a party man, are you?" 😂😂 That line has always cracked me up. No matter how many times I see it again.
I'll always remember the scene Lizzie was before the guv ' na said she was down to her last knickers and the face on Powell was hilarious! Would have liked to see her up to epi 692 but I guess Mcgrath felt it was time to move on.
Bye Colleen 😢. And rest in peace Judith McGrath. You were such a fantastic person. I sure would have loved to have met her, and Judy McBurney too. 💔. You're in the arms of the Angel.😢😭
Goodbye Colleen. She did have her moments, but overall was good value and put her heart into her job. Under the exterior, she did care about the women, and had some wicked funny moments. Bye bye Po-face :)
@@ians5597 there used to be a phone in character called 'Mr Angry' on the Steve Wright radio show years ago in the UK, and after his rant he always said "I'm gonna THROW the phone down!"
That's the second time I have seen Mrs Powell in that black dress.First time was when she left her husband and was staying at a motel and she went out for dinner and had to share a table with a strange man..
I don't get why someone as shrewd and clever as Fergo would go round boasting to the prisoners about a position that hasn't even been confirmed yet. She'll look like a complete twat now.
Then Joan started crying "It was a set up." Acting a sore loser, sending reports about Meg's short comings, trying to discredit her and get Meg demoted, so The Freak can get the deputy governorship. But all that brown nosing and ass licking didn't work did it Joan?
Meg and Colleen were a great pair. They worked well together and played off of each other very well: Meg with her positive outlook and Colleen with her sarcastic one-liners. I'm sure Judith will be greatly missed at the 40th reunuion. The book Bobbie is reading is Doctor Spock's child-rearing book .recognized the cover. it was the Bible when my daughter was born.
Yea she was wonderful, especially as a role model. Could not keep her legs shut for men other than her husband and then was so sad when her family was blown up. She is a typical b---h and for one I am glad she is gone!

I JUST REALIZED that PO FACE doesn't get to know Lexie Patterson,Kath Maxwell,Rita Connors, and a number of other Great characters🙀🙀🙀 I wonder what Po Face would have been like towards them?🤔
9:02 I actually feel sorry for Joan at the party and I see that awkwardness the Vinegar had in social situations. So, with all the Screws at this party, exactly WHO is working tonight?😲😂😱
Well, they had to found out a way to make the top dogs being against drugs. Getting their daughters using heroin is a good way to make that happen. Good writing for both Bee and Myra.
That is because they were running out of story lines. This show came on everyday and it must be difficult to be a writer for this show to keep up with better stories, some of the stories were unlikely and really over the top and they never should have removed the early characters from the show, but they had to come up with so much material on a daily basis and they should not have removed Denise Miller from the writing staff, she knew how to build up characters and make things believable
They also recycled the inmate/doctor romance of Karen/Greg with Petra/Scott; the deputy Govs' family getting killed by a bomb that was meant for someone else (first Jim, later Colleen) and elements of the storyline of Roslyn Coulson avenging her mother's death by killing the mobster's wife who's just got off with a non-sentence in the early eps is recycled in the very next episode...
Mrs. Barry looks like she's enjoying the party. As I've said before, they really should give her a bigger role on PCBH. She is a very funny actress. Why did Fergo go to the party. Nobody wants her there, especially Mrs. Powell. The last time someone went in the dryer she died. Don't kill Hannah! Good luck to Powell. She's going to have plenty of fun.
Yes, the last person that suffocated in the drier was Anne Yates, the former prison officer who ran away and hid in there after stabbing Bea in self defence, and then escaping Monica's clutches. Vera closed the door as she was passing through the laundry room, which sealed Anne's fate. Lizzie was the unfortunate person (especially with a weak heart) to find Anne's body when she opened the door, when the women were working at the time in the laundry room.

They should have swapped the last 3 scenes around so that Myra and Judy's scene happened first, then Ann telling Joan and Meg that Meg had been appointed deputy Governor and then end the episode with Coleen leaving the prison for that last time with that departure music.
32:16 obviously none of them were around when Anne Yates had her little accident. 5 years earlier, was it. And how did the gunman get through "security"? Does no one ever have to prove their visit is valid? I expect Colleen will remember her last day at Wentworth for sure now.
At 4:22 when Rick is talking to Rachel, there's something called a 'Willy Badge' on sale in the shop, lol. Can you tell I have nothing better to do? :-D
9:35 Well, at least Joan sees what her fun-loving approach to life gets her when placing herself in a social situation such as a party--or does she see? She's right, though. She wouldn't have been missed.
The ‘Special Services’ guys look like Fed Ex workers! Just watched the siege on ‘Wentworth’ and the cops on that look like Star Wars characters. Sometimes, less is more. Much more.
There were times earlier on when it seemed like the writers weren't sure what direction to take Colleen Powell. I remember a batch of episodes (between Vera leaving and Joan arriving) where she became horrifically nasty. But then that all just got forgotten. In the end Joan, Colleen and Meg made a great trio for a good solid era of the show, with Colleen in the middle of the other two's extremes. She didn't actively hate the prisoners like Joan but nor did she really care about them like Meg. She was just there to do her job and go home; she found them annoying most of the time. I think she felt being a prisoner officer would be a lot easier without the prisoners! Judith McGrath played the part perfectly and put so much into it. In my opinion she deserved the final scene of the episode and it's terrible that she didn't get it.
loved seeing captain bartan now being a drunk driver trying to blackmail someone after killing her father, what a role reverse. love this show and how they recycled actors.
I'm glad one face hasn't left from the original beginning and that is Meg. I don't want Meg to leave because she keeps the continuity of the show to see a familiar face.
You know I think it would have been a nice touch as characters leave the series Grundy Productions should have that person walking down the corridor at the end of the episode that there leaving on.
there it goes again that bloody music i wish i had that part of it when it start tears rolls dwn my face i did like poo face inthe end,she will b missed and joans face cracks me up when meg got the job classic looks they all give ent it
Someone always gets lumbered with the party bore, and this time it's our Joan! I've had my fair share of those situations and I'm too polite to brush them off.
@ 33:24 - Pixie's farewell always reminds me of the dolphins farewell for "The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy". "SO LONG, AND THANKS FOR ALL THE FISH"!
What's Willy badge? I bought one of those Dr. Spock Baby & Child Care books in 1984. My sister was pregnant with my niece. Cass is so sweet, trying to help Bobbie eat properly and to not let her smoke. I guess they all got drunk at the farewell party. Bye Colleen. I will really miss you.
I already want Colleen back. Don't go, staaaaaaaaaay, lol. And as of the end of episode 456 here are 10 characters in order of that I would like back; 1. Lizzie Birdbrain-Wrinkles Birdsworth 2. Chrissie Latham 3. Erica ''very well'' Davidson 4. Vera vinegar-tits Bennett 5. Steve Faulkner 6. Dr Kate Stevenson 7. Colleen Po-Face Powell 8. Sonia Stevens 9. Bea Smith 10. Jim Fletcher 21st September 2023.
When Colleen first joined Wentworth, she was basically non- descript but development a somewhat likable personality. But when Vera left, Colleen as a heavy didn't work. When she mellowed out into the queen dry wit and sarcasm, I started really like her and she ups and leaves. How can anyone, even in the early 80s, just quit their job because they sold their house? It wasn't a sprawling estate. It was just a house. I think they should have had a better reason for her to leave Wentworth like a better job somewhere else. It was funny when Colleen told Bobbie "don't count on it" when Bobbie told Cass (or was it Judy) that Po Face was changing in her old age. I'm going to miss Po Face.
At 35:15 John W Jude says po face isn't meg Morris but she isn't the freak either. I always said po face had the balance right. Well most of the time anyway. Aside from just after Vera left, she had the balance right, not boring and sickly like meg and not a complete sadist like fun time fergie lol. 😃 haha.
+Carlene Boulden Exactly, I completely agree about Colleen. I hated her after Vera left but she mellowed and restored the balance a lot over time and became a very competent and decent officer. Judith McGrath played the role very well too and in many ways its a shame she left.
8ballpoolking1 Yes I liked colleen after she mellowed out again. Very well played. Well I'm on episode 555 now, I have got past Myras death 😔What an episode. I do miss Myra. I liked her a lot. Roll on Rita now.... Lol, it wasn't that long ago I was saying bring on Myra.
Carlene Boulden Wow, you soon get through them. You're 100 ahead of me now, yet it don't seem like five minutes ago since you passed me. I liked Myra and never really enjoyed the show as much after she left. Rita was pretty good but I felt the writers were running out of good actresses and ideas by this time.
8ballpoolking1 the Myra era was pretty crazy. Myra was great but a lot of the other cast really were not lol. They had male prisoners for 30 or so episodes to which was bloody crazy. Yeah lol, I do get through loads of episodes some days. 😄
+Carlene Boulden I think Myra and Bea have the same qualitys and personality that makes a good leader.other people like gaffney use bullying and manipulation to try and be top dog...you need a brain and a heart to be top dog.😈

32:16 obviously none of them were around when Anne Yates had her little accident. 5 years earlier, was it. And how did the gunman get through "security"? Does no one ever have to prove their visit is valid? I expect Colleen will remember her last day at Wentworth for sure now.
I'M SO PLEASED THAT BOBBIE AND CASS FINALLY MADE UP.I FEEL SORRY FOR JOAN AT THE PARTY.
"we'll see about that" "that's not true" "hang on a minute" Judy's much over-used lines.
"
"Now hang on a minute Dilzappa that's just not true. Oh wait til Mrs Reynolds hears about THIS."
And her classic ‘oh my gawd’ in that over exaggerated tone!!
At 4:22 when Rick is talking to Rachel, there's something called a 'Willy Badge' on sale in the shop, lol. Can you tell I have nothing better to do? :-D
Not keen on Colleen's nun dress although I'm guessing it's a favourite of hers, she does wear it a lot when she's not at Wentworth.
My room looked like bobbie's cell!! I loved Duran Duran!! I think I had the same poster...Yes I was a Duranie!!!
I love 💕 love pcbh there’s always something going on. And Hannah gildsmidth is very pretty. Love from London uk 🇬🇧👍🏻
@ 8:39 - Mr. Barry has some flamboyant mannerisms. LOL.
9:35 Well, at least Joan sees what her fun-loving approach to life gets her when placing herself in a social situation such as a party--or does she see? She's right, though. She wouldn't have been missed.
also loved the way joans face dropped when meg pops got the job
I found Joyce Barry quite funny in this episode!
28:40
I like when Bobby spoke to Hunt about her baby, put her in her place, for once.
loved seeing captain bartan now being a drunk driver trying to blackmail someone after killing her father, what a role reverse. love this show and how they recycled actors.
Just to think that dress would have been the hight of fashion back then just like all the men sporting 70's porn style moustaches
i must admit i cried when that music starts when sumone leaves coleen wasnt to bad gudbye coleen powell u will b missed didnt think i say that u know
All these episodes deserve THUMBS UP.
My favourite 'screw' has left the show, she was sadly missed! Good old Po Face!
R.I.P Judith , goodbye and thanks Po Face Powell.
Hanna has such an intriguing face.... lots of expression...I think she is beautiful, actually...
I agree
Proper shit actress though
27:03 Love how Cass was so defensive of Bobbie
Ah... Nothing like a 1980's comedy Nazi to liven things up. This episode was more like an episode of 'Allo Allo' than PCBH lol.
😂
there it goes again that bloody music i wish i had that part of it when it start tears rolls dwn my face i did like poo face inthe end,she will b missed and joans face cracks me up when meg got the job classic looks they all give ent it
Good Luck Colleen...Great performance
Someone always gets lumbered with the party bore, and this time it's our Joan! I've had my fair share of those situations and I'm too polite to brush them off.
Bye Judith. It was a pleasure watching you. RIP.
@ 33:24 - Pixie's farewell always reminds me of the dolphins farewell for "The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy".
"SO LONG, AND THANKS FOR ALL THE FISH"!
39:24 Colleen's FINAL WORDS>>> "Well,... GOOD LUCK!" 😪 Wer'e gonna miss you 'PO FACE'😭 "Good Luck"👋😫
Well done Judith ❤️RIP
joan at least tried being social at the party
+Patrick Nabors I give her an A in effort LOL
What's Willy badge? I bought one of those Dr. Spock Baby & Child Care books in 1984. My sister was pregnant with my niece. Cass is so sweet, trying to help Bobbie eat properly and to not let her smoke. I guess they all got drunk at the farewell party. Bye Colleen. I will really miss you.
Meg - The interview room's been "wrecked!"
Umm, Hannah pushed the table two feet forward and then ran away LOL
lol
I already want Colleen back. Don't go, staaaaaaaaaay, lol. And as of the end of episode 456 here are 10 characters in order of that I would like back;
1. Lizzie Birdbrain-Wrinkles Birdsworth
2. Chrissie Latham
3. Erica ''very well'' Davidson
4. Vera vinegar-tits Bennett
5. Steve Faulkner
6. Dr Kate Stevenson
7. Colleen Po-Face Powell
8. Sonia Stevens
9. Bea Smith
10. Jim Fletcher
21st September 2023.
I'd like to see Noeline Burke return. And receptionist Julie (sigh).
I’m really gonna miss Colleen , she looked really beautiful in this episode
I think Collen leaving had more to do with her family getting blown up.maybe she needed to start a new life,afresh...maybe start again.
+MILDRED PIERCE If my family had died like hers, I'd do the same thing.
This episode becomes surreal - armed Nazi bashes Joan and holds Colleen hostage.... meanwhile, the inmates hide the Jew in the drier...
Joan's outburst at the farewell party was as entertaining as if she's tap-danced whilst singing a shrill medley of musical show-stoppers.
That news agency sells something called 'willy badges'. Now call me old-fashioned, but I would pin anything 'there'.
I noticed Collen was boasting the someone smashed a window pane over my head and left it there dress again at the party!
The drunk driver is the repurposed Captain Barton from the Salvos!
Mrs Powell has her sailors outfit on ready to go off globetrotting
6:17 that horse that Cass is making is really good
LMFAO @ ''Cass I'm not having a bloody calf....'' 😂
21st September 2023.
Mrs Barfield looks like a tall Sally Dempster at Colleens house
Ann delivering pregnancy news likes its a good positive thing to have a kid in prison and not knowing who the father is!
Right, she's knocked up by some disgusting john and she's in prison. Great start in life.
Having a baby is a positive thing for a lot of women, regardless of the circumstances.
@@loric4550 shhe was told she cudnt have a baby full stop so the circumstances are irrelevant and it's exactly what bobbie needs someone to love her and for her to love back
