I prefer Venom geek medias interpretation where the Firehawk was an interceptor and the Excelsior’s main rival was the Nova
Me too! I like Venom Geek Media's story about those ships' involvement in the Tomed Incident.
That first battle, I can imagine that's how the Enterprise B finished her time as a commissioned ship. One final battle, and limping back home, Starfleet decides to decommission her.
I almost thought that the Romulans threw all their resources into the D'derix (how is that spelled?) class. But yes, during the Dominion war, all alpha quadrant allies had to throw everything they had at the Dominion.
Those plasma torpedoes are still devastating, but I agree, the Excelsior is superior.
(Scotty accent): Why would you want that bucket of bolts? 😀
"They keep going for the same area."
Yeah, I mean, you pointed that area into the direction of their disruptors and torpedoes... 😅
New nacelle will arrive on Thursday. Starfleet Union has announced a three day strike, starting Monday. Dry Dock workers demand more holodeck time as a reward for working overtime to keep you supplied with new nacelles. 😉
You mean Tuesday 😂
@@user-ur1eg6my5o Nope. Thursday. Three day Union strike starts on Monday. 😉
wow a lot closer than i thought it would be, very well balanced. great to see the Tomed era brought to life.
Ok so they revamped the Firehawk and it's superb ! :D
To be fair, the Firehawk did look at that warp nacelle real funny
I think the main reason it took so long for your Firehawk to take out the Enterprise B was because you kept playing it as if it was a Federation ship with 360° firing arcs when the Firehawk has all its weapons fore facing. Also the Enterprise B like early Excelsior classes were weaker from beneath especially from the lower shuttle bay area since they only had one bank of phasers on the rear engineering section along with a single torpedo launcher. The Romulan Firehawk like the majority of non-Federation ships have this weird fascination of forward weapons making up 85-100% of their weapon emplacements, all attack no defense.
I don't know why they would say it is best used at long-range, because that is emphatically not the case. The Plasma torpedo is its primary weapon and it is slow and easy to evade. It is equipped with pulse weapons that are easy to evade at distance. In this case, the enemy is a ship with beam weapons that don't miss at distance. As a consequence, from a defensive point of view there is no reason to maintain stand-off distance; particularly because the torpedo envelopes of the Excelsior Class are so long. Getting in close makes an Excelsior's torpedoes less effective. Moreover, the offensive weapons of the Firehawk are most effective at close-range. Your best tactic when using the Firehawk is to get in close so you can deliver the Plasma torpedo at point-blank distance and to ensure every pulse hits its target. Indeed, your ideal posture is to stay mostly cloaked. Only cloak to fire the Plasma and the alpha strike, and then evade away from the torpedo envelopes and cloak.
😲😨 That Romulan Firehawk looks amazing. style and colors, wow. lol.. '' systems working or installed', lol. eeeh oh gosh.. lost a nacelle , hmm guess I was right, same crew in charge of welding.. lol 😲Nicely done Admiral.. and great tactics. wow.. Well now we know the Ent B holds it's name.. crikey.. the Firehawk is a nice ship.. funny here Romulan ships have all, but my PS2 Encounters.. Romulan ships only 1 phaser front and back but 20 degrees wide, lol unreal and torpedoes. that's it. hmm. love the battle Admiral. and love the ships..!!! *Like you said , kept firing on that section.. The AI is learning.. oh my.. !! lol.. 😊🖖
1:58 Oooo ship diagrams! Gimme!!
The firehawk is a star fleet battles ship. Quite a large and powerful heavy cruiser.
Warp nacelle struts won't be installed until Tuesday.
That nacelle doesn’t arrive until Tuesday
Starboard warp nacelle....won't be installed until Tuesday. 🤣
Target enterprise Full disruptors! But sir full disruptors are only available on Tuesday
As art imitates life, Star Trek tends to follow a lot of the rules of modern weapons and ship designs. Therefore, it's probably not going to be the most powerful ships which last for a long time but the most versatile and useful platforms that are updated for a hundred years. The most powerful ships and weapons are often countermeasures against specific threats and are often very expensive and difficult to maintain and thus when the opportunity arises to replace them with a less costly alternative or the way war is waged changes, they are often the first to be decommissioned.
The F22 Raptor is a great example. Even now it's still the uncontested king in the sky but it's also absurdly expensive to maintain and was essentially decommissioned simply due to the way war is changing and the production/maintenance costs.
7:00 I think it scales a lot like the old BoP did with the Connie. Its plasma hits harder in one shot than any single blast from the Excelsior, but it's weaker otherwise and, if the other guy knows how to deal with the plasma, it's weaker overall.
Message from Spacedock Captain. They advise that the nacelle should be attached to the ship next tuesday.......
Never mess with the Big E no matter the class.
Good thing you weren't in a Galaxy class, since losing a nacelle is it's Achilles heel.
Repairs will be on Tuesday
6:26 I’ll say it’s a crippling blow. That’s where we last saw Captain Kirk.
ty for the video and LLAP!
Id say pretty evenly balanced overall. Who gets the drop on whom would be the biggest advantage.
Capt Herriman said the starboard Nacelle was to be installed on Teusday.
I'd consider loosing the nacelle to be a lucky shot that almost never happens, making the Enterprise-B all the more impressive.
I like the Firehawk but it's just a green Klingon ship, remodelled, slightly. Although, you can say that for many ships 🖖
It's an interesting Romulan ship design for sure. I agree it did put up a good fight and yeah it's not quite as powerful as an Excelsior class, especially an Excelsior refit.
Firehawk is one of my fav! he was wiinner for me.....you almost lost with Enterprise B as commander;P
The Firehawk may be a Romulan creation but it virtually screams Klingon influence.
I thought the same. Without those upper nacelles, absolutely.
Is the firehawk design originally out of another game? it looks like a cross between the imperial class and senator class in klingon academy. very nice looking ship.
I think as a "response" to the Excelsior it was a little bit of a dud. The Romulans usually played things fast and loose if they though they could get away with breaking the rules, so maybe your playing strategy was not as well suited to how it would have been used.
Hope you played this on a wednesday as everything is installed on tuesday
The Lakota is an Excelsior class... ;)
It was a nice one, but allow me a question:
Was the Excelsior not from TNG? Because from Motion Picture the Phasers and Torpedoes were different.
Best Regards and Live long and Prosper!
B for BEATDOWN!
thought the nova was the romulans answer to the excelsior
Did you ever put up an Intrepid against a Nebula?
The Intrepid is a light cruiser, and the Nebula is a battle cruiser, it would probably lose the same way it lost to Stars fleets other battlecruiser the Akira
@@scpguy1381Intrepid is a new design though. Can always begin with a 2-1 scenario and it the Intrepids smoke the Nebula go 1-1
@@Andre25077 it’s not significantly newer, and it lost to a Galaxy class without much contest, I doubt a Nebula would be too much harder
what about the uss resurgence from that one movie
Uh, how do I get bridge commander legacy to run on my computer? My monitor is 1440x900 instead of 1920x1080 so it ends up being off center and when I change the cfg file to my display settings it straight up doesn't run at all.
Never mind this, but how do I get it to be centered?
Excelsior class and your datachable nacelles hability XDDD
