  • The steroid injections that orthopedic surgeons use are a corticosteroid, not to be confused with anabolic steroids used by body builders or professional athletes. Corticosteroids act as an anti-inflammatory directly to the site of an injury.

Hello Dr., thank you for the video. I had a cortisone shot in my neck around 3 to 4 months ago. It worked great for three months, but for the last month or so, I’ve been experiencing much more hair loss than normal. I want and a half later I’m starting to worry with them on her hair I’m losing overall. Is hair loss, a side effect of the anti-inflammatory shot

I just wrote about the pain bc I can’t find anything anywhere and just saw your comment. Mine hurt soooo bad! I got it today. I was crying and I have a high pain tolerance, it was embarrassing! They weren’t empathic at all either.

I can’t find one video anywhere on why my injection hurt so bad! The first shot was fine, the next shot into my SI injection, which I’m guessing is the steroid was soooo painful. I have a high pain tolerance? They gave me dye as well?

I had a steroid shot in my knee yesterday. There was a huge improvement and got me back to work. I have bone on bone arthritis in my knee. Doctor says my best cure is a knee replacement. In the meantime if I could keep my knee functioning at a level of pain that is tolerable. Possibly use a gel injection to buffer this bone on vone situation to prolong the need for knee replacement, I'll use this course of action as long as possible.

What are legitimate uses for anabolic steroids, and why can't they be used for injections in specific pain areas rather than corticosteroids? Wouldn't it help to rebuild the affected area? Just curious. Thanks for the info.

anabolic steroids can be used for those with profound hormone deficiencies. Most targeted pain injections are for decreasing inflammation rather than building muscles

I got a shot a month ago. Worked great. I’m curious how long it is effective? Is there anything I can do to extend the relief as well?

The timeframe varies for individuals-months for some, years for others. This suggests a complexity beyond our current understanding, particularly when considering the alternative injection options. Cortisol ranks lowest at 46.2%, while PRP leads at 80.8%, and dextrose prolo stands at 72.1% in the study I seen!
