8k doesn't matter because some services like paramount plus and peacock are not streaming in 4k and just streaming in 4k doesn't make a big difference, but HDR makes a big difference

Really? The EU just banned 8k.

Energy use of 8k tvs I think is too high for them.

Great review, the lack of gigabit lan is holding me back. If the lan port was gigabit like the new apple TV steamer and the shield this thing would be near perfect on paper at least. I say all this because me and the family are in the fire tv ecosystem. Maybe in two or three more years.

Thank you! Not sure why amazon left it out except to save some money. Hardwiring your streaming device at 1gb should be included all the time

My TV is a SONY Bravia w800c 43" full HD android TV and I have a soundbar JBL 9.1 atmos. My TV didn't support Atmos but if I connect Xiaomi TV Box S (2nd Gen) 4K Ultra Set-Top Box or Fire TV Cube am I able to get Atmos sound effects??

Hi! As long as whatever you are watching supports Dolby atmos (ie Disney plus movies) and you are using a streaming box that is Dolby atmos enabled, your jbl soundbar will produce Dolby atmos audio. .

I'm getting 385 megabits (not megabites btw ) on the gen 2 fire cube and I only have 500/500 speed.

Does the remote creak in the back because of the poor-quality battery cover?

The only Difference between this and the 2nd Gen cube is that it has WIFI6e performance and pic quality no difference so i sent back the 3rd Gen and stuck with my 2nd Gen

The 3rd Gen is faster but marginal

Pic/video quality should appear quicker on a faster connection. Kinda like how when you steam RUclips on your phone sometimes it starts of at lower resolution then slowly into 4k res

You left out of your review still using USB 2 !? Also 32 bit only ? What's up with that? Due to the old technology they included with this piece of junk this is not a good buy.We need to not purchase this and with lack luster sales they will redesign
with current technology. Let's tell it like it is.

Exactly not worth the price they are asking. I see a lot of people defending Amazon for using obsolete technology in what is supposed to be their flagship/premium device. It is disappointing that Amazon skimped so much on the hardware and baffling that so many want to defend them for doing so.

Your analysis pretty much squares with my own and I agree with you 100%. Adding the current technology would cost them very little to employ. Thanks for chiming in.
