My neighbours are loving my learning guitar. When ever I start practicing, I can hear them banging along on my wall to the rhythm, proper musos I guess?
@@richardrichard5409 And if they start banging the walls in the wrong tempo, you can always see it as a good foundation for some polyrhytmic, jazz practices ;)
I like the idea of using the 2nd lick to then flow into the 1st one finishing with the 3rd one after some usual bluesy stuff in between. I always love your tasteful playing and will steal these licks for my own soloing ideas. Great stuff as usual! God bless and rock on!
and I just wanted to share that with you bc I never told anybody that before it broth a tear to my eyes and I'm 13 so its just amazing how u can play like that good job man keep it up bro your amazing
I always enjoy your solos Big D! I much prefer this type of video (lesson) than the latest iteration of whatever guitar and pickups. But even with those, I truly love it when the latest iteration "gets a chance to solo"! Thanks for all your efforts! Rock on!
Good tutorial, Darrell. I don't read music, so traditional tabs are basically worthless to me, but in a guitar context I'm a visual learner, so seeing you demonstrate a lick makes all the difference. For what little it's worth, I liked #3 the best.
I like all, but the third is my favourite. Anyway the way the three are connected is fantastic and give a great result. Thank you Darrel! Have a great day!
Hey Darrell- great to see you playing that gorgeous Relish Mary One. Liked the licks, but will have to wait for my new axe to get here next week to actually work on them.
I have an idea for a video...can you compare guitar cables? Expensive cables vs cheap cables vs average price to see if there is any difference is signal quality and sound? I think this is a big misconception people have. I bet the only difference might be noise or hum with the cheaper ones!
Darrell, love your channel 1. What is that note on high e where goes from 12 to 8 ? 2. Do you have a review somewhere of that guitar? Its pretty funky.
Very nice options and well presented. Watching you, I noticed the 'crappy' upper strap button location on that guitar. It dares the strap to come off if you were to tilt the neck up for better left wrist comfort at any time. If that was mine, I'd move it about 2 inches closer to the neck where the body rounds to more of a 90 degree angle of pull for the strap. This mod could save that expensive guitar's life.
This may have been asked, how could I get a paper copy of the licks as mentioned in the video and the phrase at the end perhaps? Great tutorial! Thanks for sharing skills and knowledge!
I look at the wall behind you and can't help but wonder: "What does Darrell do in an emergency?" :-) The Relish is a cool guitar. I knew I should have patented my easy-to-replace pickup idea. I worked on it for a couple of years but did nothing with it.
look so my dad just to play cats in the cradle and he died in 2013 and he use to play guitar and now I have nobody to teach me and I really love would to learn how to play like you man and I just need to have guitar lessons and I'm just crying right now bc how you can play like that and my dad that passed away to
Hello.. I am a big fan of your upgrade videos.. I need a suggestion. On the following I have an Ibanez RgR131dx Its an HH setup withput a Whammy bar Can it be customized to an HSH setup with a Whammy Bar,, will this affect the guitar in anyways plz I need so e guidence
Would it be possible to show the TAB for the linking phrase? I thought this lesson was so good I really want to use it as a practice tool, but I am a beginner and I don’t have another phrase that I can use. Sorry in advance if this is a stupid request.
Did he say easy licks? Haha......I have been playing guitar for 12 years, and Im still struggling with open chords, and I can’t play anything....especially not soloing with bending strings, vibrato and so on. When trying to play something from a tab, it takes me a minute to find and play like 3-4 notes. I guess some people just can’t learn...
Yo Darrell ...If you had to choose a guitar or two ..or ..an ..amp or two ...then get rid of all the rest ..would you ..actually ..be able to do it ?😎🎸
Hi! I played on two guitars (acoustic and electric) with one amp for the good part of a decade, so I definitely could. Making the decision now might be tough!
I could strut out on stage with that guitar and already look better than I really am, lol! I'd love to have one of those, but if it's more than $500.00 US then I'm out of luck. Unless Apollonia sees it in a store window and buys it for me! 😎
Before I even watch this, I want to see a s#%t load of likes for the return of the theme song!!! I have advocated for it forever and am glad (ecstatic??) To see it back. Can I get an AMEN?????!!!!!
There is something very fundamentally wrong. You keep teaching me to sound better than I am, but in turn it makes me better. So I guess the jokes on you.
🚩 Thanks.. I Enjoyed playing w/ya. Thanks for putting Tabs up. Luv ur licks. U would be sitting in my wallet, if I go near ur Pat. page.. sorry, u would be lonely if sitting in my wallet:-( Wish!!
Enjoy the new lesson!
Which lick was your favorite?
So many great lessons! I am having a tough time choosing what to learn!!!!
I like the first one.
Brilliant lesson Darrell. Thank you so much. I have copied out all 3 licks.
Lick 3 is exactly how I do it!! Spooky.

Great advice! To bad my neighbors already know I suck! Lol!
😂😂😂
Peyote Pete ditto
I thought your neighbors are listening to a good music - because they do not have a choice :D

Amazing playing. You have a real talent not just for playing but as a teacher, motivator and guru. Thnx
That shirt is superb, and I've gotta have it! Cheers for this one, and especially with the intention to help new players to soloing
Thanks! The shirt is definitely fun to wear around! 😁
@@DarrellBraunGuitar That's awesome to hear man! Looks cool!
Thanks a ton Darrell! I appreciate that you are willing to do lessons like these : )
Have a good one.

Still loving the return of the Sibilant Pick Slide title sequence!! Oh yeah, and, great lesson thanks!!
Always high quality content Darrell! Best Guitar channel on RUclips in my humble opinion.

Excellent lesson Darrell!
These licks will help me get out of the rut I've been in over the last day or two - thank you!
More of these lessons please Darrell!
Hey Darrell- great to see you playing that gorgeous Relish Mary One. Liked the licks, but will have to wait for my new axe to get here next week to actually work on them.
Awesome guitar collection 😍🎸
Great lesson, Darrell! Info that is definitely usable. Thanks!
Thanks Darrell for sharing your exercises. Im working on that.
MORE of this please!!! 🤟
Luv this so creative! Thank you
2nd lick... Neil Schon plays a variation of that in the "lights" solo. Sounds great.
I love the guitar, thx for the lesson!
Thanks to you Darrell, I now have three new licks AND I also get to play them on my Relish Mary one!
Great lesson! Really liked it. Thank you so much!
Excellent video, you are a dam good player my friend.
First lick for sure, but I picked up on the blues at about 5.10. Loved it. Thank you!
All three are great, thanks!
What an awesome looking guitar
Nice video. With lick #2 I started to 'sing' As Long As You Follow by Fleetwood Mac. I think it must have been the intro.
I have an idea for a video...can you compare guitar cables? Expensive cables vs cheap cables vs average price to see if there is any difference is signal quality and sound? I think this is a big misconception people have. I bet the only difference might be noise or hum with the cheaper ones!
Nice tutorial. Great example of lick 2 is Neal Schon’s solo on Lights.
Thanks for this Darrell! #3 is my favorite
Which one is this in the tab store?
Darrell, love your channel
1. What is that note on high e where goes from 12 to 8 ?

Well, we'll soon know who at the blues jam has been watching this channel. Great little lesson! Thanks.
Thanks Darrell! It’s great, I appreciate it. Seeya.
Just subscribed. Love the channel man! Keep up the good work. Wondering if you can do another review of a cheap guitar off amazon
Excellent!!

Really cool guitar 😊
Darrell you should look into a schecter c-6 plus in black burst or the schecter solo 2 red reign
Your intro lick sounds amazing... can you plz make a lesson for it... love your videos...♥️
There's a guy in Brasil that's making great guitars, you should try one of them. The brand is Klingen Guitars, look for it on Instagram.
So close to 500k!
Nice! Using this!
First . Love ur vids man
*Looks at the title*
- I'm pretty sure people will still call me ugly
Hey good video man!
This may have been asked, how could I get a paper copy of the licks as mentioned in the video and the phrase at the end perhaps? Great tutorial! Thanks for sharing skills and knowledge!
Thank you...Tim n Tina.
My favorite one is lick number 3
More lessons please! :)

The Relish is a cool guitar. I knew I should have patented my easy-to-replace pickup idea. I worked on it for a couple of years but did nothing with it.
Great shirt!
Have you compared a pool routed strat to a more traditional SSS route for tone differences?
I tried it and that's amazing. I feel like pro bluesman xD
and I wish you could teach me how if I knew you but keep up the good vids man
COOL!!!!
I believe that Robin Trower used these (if not something similar).
Hay Darrell, I'd love to have that backing track to practice, is it available??
does anyone have the tab for the inbetween phrase lick Darrell is using at the end of the video?
what's the tab for the phrase linking the three licks? Does anyone have?
how does one insert licks into songs?
Can you do a KWS Style blues lesson
Sounded kinda like funk 49 by the james gang.

Okay
Wonderful. Thank you, and BTW, that's a cool looking guitar, shame they are so pricy..
Nice, but I see it will take some work. I may have to go back and work on scales.
Know that 2nd lick from Marty Friedman
Return of the lunch box guitar! I have to admit it's a handsome guitar, in its own erector set kind of way.
I have hear Lindsey Buckingham when I hear these.. Excellent !
the 2nd riff sounds very Jack Johnson
Darryl reminds me of Ned Flanders. I can see why he likes these licks

Lick #3 for me 🔊🤘
Ok so if can hybrid pick effectively you probably already are better than the average bear.
Where the heck is your email address?

That guitar has interesting features but is ugly as sin.
I was thinking the same thing. Super ugly
@@the92project It's actually super pretty, see for yourself: "This guitar is super pretty" - Science.

I HATE titles like this, it is SOOOOOO dependent on how good OR not good you are.
maybe say " three licks to make you better" rather than putting someone down with "you are". thanks for your time and vid.
