Dude, I have a PS5 Slim and I mostly had no trouble removing the panels. But you gotta apply pressure to it. It was mostly putting them back on that I had the most problems with.

I had the Slim disk drive buzzing noise issue. I noticed it would quiet down if I pressed on the panels. I R&Red all the panels and the noise has stopped...... for now. 😂
This is an improvement over the existing PS5 CFI-1000 model. I prefer to pull out/push the panels rather than slide it out and in like on the launch model, which is more difficult to do and can result in scratching your console. The PS5 Pro ver should be similar to this.

I did it with the sterling silver plates that just got released for the slim a couple days ago and got the matching controller, they're all 4 on there but it broke most the clips that I had to bend back into place, so I'm on hold with PlayStation support right now hoping they'll send me a replacement pair because I've taken the stock white ones off multiple times and got them right back on with no clips breaking at all
Same thing just got the black plates and clips snapped yet my white ones have been removed several times and never snapped they really need to stop using pathetic cheap nasty plastic

Bro I was playing this game and for some reason the cutscenes were lagging but what was weird is that it was only that game so incase I wanted to clean it, apparently it said in the manual you can remove it but my manual was in Japanese because well I bought it all the way from Japan and I live in Central America and don’t speak Japanese so I didn’t understand and when I learnt that you can remove it my brother told me to do it but I didn’t want to because we waited 2 years for this bad boy but I gave in and we tried it. Thank god it’s still fine

Dude thanks for the help I found out that the PS5 slim has gaint gaps in the side and I didn’t know that till a year of haveing it so I only very cleans the back I then saw the side and a faint dust cloud and was like oh shit I need that out thanks for help it was lot easier then I thought it would be I will say tho when putting it back it made a really loud noise cuz I didn’t have it exactly on right it’s fine tho I think I haven’t turned it on yet tho

Dude, I have a PS5 Slim and I mostly had no trouble removing the panels. But you gotta apply pressure to it. It was mostly putting them back on that I had the most problems with.
the other way round for me for the OG model, removing it i have problems with, putting them back i have no trouble

Sadly you can't change the background but if you hover over the games the background changes
Same here. But sadly, no. There's no way to change the wallpaper on PS5. As for online, you'll need a PS+ membership to play with friends.

You get 5 plates instead of just 4, so if you wanted to take the disk drive off you have a plate to use as if it is a digital only console

Looks easier to remove the plates than the OG PS5 console. OG ver always scratches the matte plastic and its way harder to remove the plates.
Sadly I found out the hard way today, I was doing a pretty good job of not scratching my console but today I finally messed up 💀
