- This is a quick tutorial showing you all how to remove every console cover panel of the updated PlayStation 5 Slim models (CFI-2015). Eventually Sony is going to offer additional colors like the Deep Earth collection, so here's how you get these bad boys off. Quick and dirty, just the way RUclips likes it. Mmmmm yeah.

Just did this to mine, still relatively new, but I like to keep my consoles clean.
Was very nervous removing the plates, but thankfully, it all went OK. Its abit daunting at first, especially because it's an expensive bit of tech.

Even though I already have the og ps5, I'm glad you showed this because I was wondering what the other side looks like. I see the metal piece for the fan has a different shape. Btw when I watched Kevin Kenson's video, he showed that there are ps icons at the bottom of the outside of the console cover...which is pretty cool.

Dude, I have a PS5 Slim and I mostly had no trouble removing the panels. But you gotta apply pressure to it. It was mostly putting them back on that I had the most problems with.

Do they makes covers for the slim for if you want to take the disk drive out and just use it for digital? Or are all covers currently for using it with the disk drive attached?
You get 5 plates instead of just 4, so if you wanted to take the disk drive off you have a plate to use as if it is a digital only console

Looks easier to remove the plates than the OG PS5 console. OG ver always scratches the matte plastic and its way harder to remove the plates.
Sadly I found out the hard way today, I was doing a pretty good job of not scratching my console but today I finally messed up 💀

I just bought a PlayStation 5 and I'm coming from a PlayStation 3
Is there a way to change the background wallpaper like the PS3 and does it still have PSN friends list where it shows who's online and what they're playing and PSN group chat and messages and how do I play online do I have to pay to play multiplayer games if so how much
Sadly you can't change the background but if you hover over the games the background changes
Same here. But sadly, no. There's no way to change the wallpaper on PS5. As for online, you'll need a PS+ membership to play with friends.
My ps5 slim fell out of my hands and it just made a Lego sound

I did it with the sterling silver plates that just got released for the slim a couple days ago and got the matching controller, they're all 4 on there but it broke most the clips that I had to bend back into place, so I'm on hold with PlayStation support right now hoping they'll send me a replacement pair because I've taken the stock white ones off multiple times and got them right back on with no clips breaking at all
Same thing just got the black plates and clips snapped yet my white ones have been removed several times and never snapped they really need to stop using pathetic cheap nasty plastic

@@unicorntomboy9736 Oh man. I didn't open my PS5 until close to a year of opening and it took me a great bit of strength to unlatch the covers. You could try to open yours just for the challenge of it lol. But yes, it is finicky at times and very strongly held in place.

@@unicorntomboy9736 Can't be that bad. I had some dust under the PS Logo and a few micro-dust particles on the black surface itself. Unless you're planning to open up the system itself and clean the fan you definitely won't see too much.
