Audacity has spectral editing tools for that job: you draw a rectangle around the offending part of the spectrogram, (the bassy thud), then attenuate that rectangle by, say, 30dB.
The spectral editing tools are analogous to dodging/burning part of an image in photoshop.

I record at 48000. The gain is up to 100% in Audacity and is up at about 40-45% on my interface. This allows me to have good volume input without overloading the interface. The rest is done through audio processing in Audacity. Hope that helps you !🤙

This works but how abooouuut you have 2 hours of recording? Is there a faster way than choosing those parts one by one?

How do you remove an edit you can't remember? Like an section of audio sounds weird but you can't undo it because it's the next day and you don't know what you did? How do you remove any effects you added? Thank you.

So, just recorded a video and there is a part where I say "...peacefully passing out pamphlets" and I'm thinking 'okay get ready to clean up some plosives' But the position of my mic made it so there were no plosives. So yeah, good tips.

What would you do if you had to deal with plosives afterwards with an entire audiobook recording? Just the same process or is there a way to deal with them for the whole file?
