I have a solution coming up in a week or so that I think you’ll really like. I’ve tried five seats before I got there. Look for a video coming soon on it
I have an ultra limited. To be honest I can't find a seat to match the stock comfort. Especially for the passenger. Only ones I see may be the ultimate seat or a corbin. But hate to pay that much and be stuck with it.
Thanks for the info on the seats. Been looking to get another seat but definitely don't want to sit up any higher. Was thinking about the Mustang standard touring seat. Thought I might look at the Saddlemen also but after hearing about the height difference I know it wouldn't work.
You've got the same bars i have but mine are chrome. And I bought the same mirrors you did for my black, 2012 Street Glide. But im getting my new seat from Mustang and having custom red stitching done.
I’ve heard good things about Mustang seats it’s one of the few aftermarket seats I haven’t tried. Maybe because I have it stuck in my head that they are big pillow top seats from the 90s even though I know they’ve changed quite a bit. I ended up just going with a custom Corbin seat and it is the best thing I’ve ever done. I can ride all day without any pain. The downside is the ridiculously expensive seat, but after trying everything else it was worth it
Finally someone who is not afraid to say the Saddleman Roadsofa is crap! I bought the same seat and I now have over 30000 miles of "break in" on it and it's still like sitting on a wooden park bench!!! Worst money I've ever spent on my bike.
Yeah, I just did another video and included a few more seats. I ended up finding/buying the best seat I’ve ever ever had which is the Corbin dual tour with a backrest. If you’re still trying to find a good seat, that is definitely my recommendation. Either way thank you for watching and I appreciate the comment
Lmao!! I bought the saddleman road sofa and, recently road mine from Carson ca.. to key west and Daytona Doing 800 day rides and I was forced to slap on the air hawk padding and switching around also with the butt buffer pad...I still haven’t been able to go pass two hrs before I’m feeling sore from that seat...you also sit a lil higher..I don’t think it’s going to get any softer.. but I feel your pain!! I’m thinking of trying out the unlimited seat or the Russell seat
Stock is a good choice Love how the bike looks I wonder if I could do this to my 2018 Ultra Limited , of taking the tour pack off Getting 12 inch bars in a couple of weeks , can't wait
I just did mine I've got a 13 ultra limited not hard at all hardest part is tuck in the wires under your seat you will probably want to get an upgraded seat trim it down a bit that's my next doe.
After 1000 miles on my roadsofa its back in the box and going back to Saddlemen. Never "Broke in" for me and I also hated that is lifted me up all of 1 inch. Back to stock seat I go which I have several 500 mile days on. Might just stick with that.
So I have a question for you, did you buy the seat brand new? I spoke to saddlemen a week or two ago and they told me that if you get it used it won’t ever break in correctly. I was told it takes 1000 to 2000 miles for the road sofas. I’m actually considering getting another one
@@rosyrosenblum9823 I purchased mine through Amazon. So I can only guess that it was brand new. I am going back and forth on if I gave it a fair enough chance with only 1000 miles. However, I work 50 miles from home and about half way to and from home im ready to get off. That did not change in all 1000 miles. Plus I was running out of days before I could no longer return it. For me, even if it did brake in, I dont know if you could get over how much higher I sat on my bike. I figured for almost $900 it had to be life changing, and it was not. Just my opinion. Hope you have better luck. I will add that I am a big guy, around 340 pounds. So maybe its not meant for me. Most people I see that like it are smaller. Customer service did recommend ordering through them, and they could leave the seat in the curer longer to harden the foam up for me. So if I ever try it again I will do that. Hopes this helps.
I’m really hoping Saddlemen will send me another one to try out. If it broke in and was comfortable I’d buy it. It’s hard to believe that a seat that seems to get universal accolades could be bad.
@@rosyrosenblum9823 I was hoping they would be a great saddle. There are a lot of great reviews out there on them. But I think I am going to stick with my stock seat and have a local guy put some diamond stitching on it.
Thanks for the video you just saved me 600 bucks. I think im gonna stick with a stock seat. I bought the drag special seat its a great low profile seat. But anything more than a 2 hr ride gets uncomfortable.
I have found a lot of good deals on Facebook marketplace/OfferUp on Used Corbin and other seats typically around half price or less. Makes it easier to try them out because you’re not going to lose too much if you don’t like them. Thank you for watching, I’m glad I could help you! If you look through my videos, I did another seat comparison with five other seats. You should check it out, it might help your decision-making
I have a stock street glide seat which I really like for myself but not for the wife....so I got an Ultra seat (which I call the big comfy couch) and my wife likes it but I don't cause it feels like it pushes me forward at least an inch or two compared to my stock seat....thinking about the road sofa but I don't want to sit an inch higher either!! I'm only 5'11" so I'm not sure if I need an extended reach!??... Frustrated!!!
That’s the same issue I’m having with my custom seat. This weekend I drilled the hole further forward so I could slide the seat back. There is at least 3/4 of an inch of movement back, and if it slides off the front mount, that is adjustable as well. Good luck!
Great overview of all the seats. Thanks for sharing. Just came across your channel and subscribed. I feature a Street Glide Special and Road King Special on my channel. I have the Saddlemen San Diego Customs on my Road King Special. I found the firmer seat helped alleviate tail bone pain. Ride safe 👍👊🇺🇸
So glad you did this vid, i have watching your vid "thanks for the vid once again " i have the same bike damn near same color, i just bought a street glide low seat, I have a short inseam hard to flat foot with the ultra stock seat with very little air in the rear so i hope i made the right choice
Not any more, check out the video I just posted on the custom seat I had made. Got rid of all the seats except stock touring seat and the custom seat I had made. Just went riding all day today, felt great
@@rosyrosenblum9823 Yeah I had a great ride today too about 67 beautiful weather. I don't get all into it like you've done $$ but I did just take my Tour pack off and what not going to pick up a Docking kit Sissy bar for the ol lady.put a few cool add-ons going to be putting a video out here soon. Changed out Tank insignia & fender a Harley guy would be confused on what model it is kind of like the old-school look .🇺🇸🍻🤜
I might do that, I just bought the back rest and committed to riding on that seat for the entire month of April over to to see if it breaks in. I love the way it looks and I really want it to work
I’m not selling any seats, I got rid of the Saddlemen seat right after the video. I’m keeping the others for spares just in case I need them for something ha ha. Thanks for watching
Thank you for some honesty because after 7000 miles on a Saddlemen I still don't feel what everyone means about break in. My seat is hard

I'm with you on the saddlemans that seat hurt so bad had to pull over to rest my back side
Coming soon is the new seat I just had put on my bike. It is the fifth seat I’ve tried and without question the best

I hear great things about the Russell seat, but I couldn’t deal with the looks
I am with you , 4500 miles on my Saddleman and I have renamed it the Road Brick !
Stock is a good choice
Love how the bike looks

The seat on the left is what's on my 2014 road king FLHR

Agreed, firm is good, hard is not. I have gone through at least five different seats. And finally took getting one custom-made for me to be happy
How tall are your handlebars, and who makes them ?
Paul Yaffe, I made a couple of videos on the install Quick 10” Yaffe monkey bar update ruclips.net/video/reRG9KOwpoo/видео.html
Guess the conversion would be the same for a 2014?
I believe the seats are identical from 2009 on up

Interested in purchasing the seat if you still want to sell. Or not if you already sold it. Let me know. Thanks.
Sold it already, thanks for watching
I just removed my pack off my 13 ultra limited do you have any seats you’re selling the one on there with my tour pack is extra thick in the ass end.🤔

Sounds like you got the extended reach street glide seat....
Nope, standard seat.
is the road sofa still available?
Sorry, sold it months ago. I’m going to be putting up some new videos soon with a different seat. Best thing I’ve ever put on my bike
@@rosyrosenblum9823 what's the new seat, does it lift you?
Bro is these seats u made😮
No sir, two of them are factory Harley seats and the other one is a saddlemen Road sofa
Thanku so much for your lovely reply 👍
Let me know if you still selling that road sofa
I sold it to a buddy, he loves it. Guess it’s just my butt
Ill buy it if you are still selling it. I want to try for myself.
I’m going to keep using it through the end of April and see if it gets broken in before I make any decisions, I will keep you in mind thank you
Are you still have the saddleman road sofa?
No, I sold it over a year ago. Thank you for watching
Im interested if u still wanna sell it
I sold it the day I posted the video ha ha. I’ve had so many people ask I wish I could modify the video but I can’t
Smart man!
On my new Roadglide, I ended up going with the Corbin dual tour… It blows those other seats away for comfort and quality and it’s heated!
If you still have the seat and wanna sell it shoot me a message. I’d be interested. I’m going through this same process with my ‘15 FLTRXS.

I will trade you 2021 street glide seat for that saddleman seat
Lol, Thanks, but I believe it’s worth about 4 times the stock seat. I already have a OEM STreet glide seat

Road sofa feel like sitting on a brick
Agreed! Ended up getting a custom made seat before I was happy
