I am going to be brutally honest but I think that the back wing will generate so much drag that the car will not be able to accelerate to the speed it needs to go. Try to smooth out the lines, get down on the front so the car will not lift off and try to keep as much air as possible out of under the car. Try to add some side skirts a big diffuser and a very small and slick wing. In order to go that fast you will have to play with aero at least a little bit.
Hi Kev, I’m your biggest fan, I watch you videos since you had only 100K. You’ve been my inspiration and i cant wait to see you achieve your dreams and build the monster truck and reach 1 million subs. 🤝
The thing is: when you add more power (aka batteries) that increases the weight and then you require different motors and the weight slows you down. There's a reason car makers spend years calculating the proper sized motors, trans, tires, wheels, tires, aero etc. Kev makes a huge mistake: it isn't just the wind resistance that slows his top speed down, it's weight as well......
@@PierreGHedgehog aerodynamics would solve that rather than weight. if he put time and effort into it, hed understand that aerodynamics is something important to look at because itll give you enough down force while saving lots of weight
@@John-shreds that's the thing though, even the Veyron needed a LONG LONG LONG straightaway to reach max speed. The gearing is so high that the top speed is there, but takes a long time to get there. And the Veyron was a heavy pig of a car too.....lots of extra "heavy" luxury items. It's the same with electric vehicles: everyone wants longer range, but that means a bigger battery which means more weight which means less range because you're moving more weight. Same as Kev's car: more power = more weight which requires more power....
@@John-shreds Yeah I'd like to know the criteria for "fastest r/c car" because to me, it'd be relatively easy. Make one out of a carbon fibre plate, skinny solid wheels, and a rocket motor......THink of a soap box derby type car........rocket propelled. Thank you so much bro for making all of us entertainment. I only have an a979 b but I saving up for a slash and many others, just so that I can be like you. Thanks bro 😎.
Kev - have you thought about cutting some small vent holes above the wheels to release some of the air pressure? I think that is why you are seeing the front lift. Well...at least that could be one of the contributing reasons. At COTA, I've noticed a big difference in how planted cars are when they have those features.
Hi Kevin, here are some ideas on increasing speed once you get to about 150 mph, aerodynamics becomes extraordinarily important, just as important as power. -ideally, change your whole body design to being more long and skinny, if you look at land speed record cars you will see what i mean. -But since that will mean a complete redesign, here are some ideas to improve your current car: -ADD A TAIL!! This sounds really weird, but extending the rear of the car out to a gentle point increases aerodynamics extraordinarily, because it eliminates the low-pressure area behind the car that pulls it back. Lookup "aerodynamic tail" to see what I'm talking about. -Enclose the rear wheels. Tires cause a lot of air turbulence, and hence drag, especially since you are using foam tires. If you can figure out a way to cover the front wheels too, that would be great, but it might be harder since the front wheels have to steer. -Change the batmobile-style rear fins to just regular fins. Again, turbulence. -Try and replace as many parts as you can with carbon fiber. You are right in that weight really only affects acceleration, and not top speed, but you are going to need decent acceleration if you want to get over 203 in any reasonable amount of space. Also, figure out a way to gear the thing down. I remember you said in a previous episode it was geared to 600 something mph. you are going to need more torque to get through the air at 200 mph, at that speed air is very "thick". Gear it to like 250 mph. -Finally, if you start to have issues with the motors overheating, consider adding small air scoops to direct air at them. And by small I mean SMALL! like 3/16th of an inch tall, and maybe 1 1/2 inch wide. No bigger, because they will cause too much drag. At 200mph, plenty of air will pass through them. Also, make sure the air has a way out, otherwise air will build up inside the body.
Tbh I think the record holder would be watching and getting nervous by now, possible this current setup will do the trick, provided they can keep it on the ground.

Kev just an idea maybe you should put physical brakes on the car like the Losi 5t has those disk brakes? Maybe make mini ones because I feel like using the motor to stop at such high speeds would ruin it and physical brakes might save it and make it less easy to crash cause you can just change the pads instead of the motor
