Yes, that kind of rc toys are what our parents bought for us when we're just a kid..i also bought toy grade rc for my toddler..and that's what makes us loves rc..
Tonys Rc Tech hey Tony, yeah it’s pretty nimble for the money. I was looking for other shells for it but no luck! I never thought about a mod. Do you have a vid of it? I’ll go check..
Perfect this things gonna be awsome for my son inside for these -50 Canadian winters. Probably gonna be many mornings waking up with this thing crawling over my head in the bed. Cheers bud
Devastator is awesome. Just wish the tires would be a bit more grippy. Cool to see they’ve adjusted the design. Moving the charger plug and power switch is a big plus. Entertaining video!
Hi Kev, been watching your videos for a few weeks and must say I really enjoy them, especially the workshop and project ones. You're the first RUclipsr I've actually subscribed to so keep up the good work. I've just ordered one of these and wondered if you had any recommendations for upgrades. Little more speed is always nice. Cheers Stu
@@KevinTalbotTV yeah, I was thinking the wheels could do with being a smidge larger. I'm going to do some digging on motors too, maybe try a few different ones out. Anyway, as I say keep up the good work.
Can you make a video how to upgrade that black off road rc toys grade to a proper rc hobby grade? Or at least upgrade it so you can control the throttle and the steering? I have that rc but with a different model (the price must be same) and i wanna upgrade it...
The last minute of this vid is for real. Bought a WLtoys 12428 because I wanted to break things. Already broke things and fixed them now looking for upgrades to not break so much. Now I'm looking at higher end models. But I will say I love this car so far
Ive got the new Devastator and it's brilliant. Ive done some real cool crawling with it. You didn't mention that now it comes with a li-po batterie and a light to say that it's charged.
Why did you change the thumbnail? I was scrolling RUclips and saw the thumbnail during lunch at school and I was laughing my ass off and everyone was staring at me 😂
Hey kev... is there any way I could maby steal a part from one of ur broken Devstator for my broken gear on mine? It's also a part u can't buy anywhere
My first rc car was a Tamiya Lunch box😂. I think Tamiya is the best way to start the hobby because you learn so much for example how a rc car works because the most Tamiya cars are kits😂 AND THAT'S ONLY MY OPINION
I need an expert option. I have a jlb cheetah. If I adjusted my camber too tight and the dogbones were seated too deep into the drive cups, would that be the cause of them bending?!
Have you done a review on scx24 1:24 scale. For the price $120 and it is hobby grade it is the most superior mini crawler. I have more fun with it than my scx10ii. The only thing I found it needed was the shocks lowered to the chassis to help clear the tire rub on the front fenders. To do that I had to drill small holes in the the chassis in the front. The rear had holes to use.
I have a question, I have an old radio shack RC truck 4x4, with a broken battery door, is it possable to take this heap, and turn it into something professional? if ya can, i will give it to you, i have no use for an rc that dosint work properly
Awesome vid Kevin, I do think you explained the differences about the cheaper units to a better Rc grade unit , I also think your spot on about people being able to start off with something that’s a lot less money and then they still get to learn exactly how everything works and then their more likely to move up to a real Rc because they can better understand the workings and the movements without having learnt a big lesson by wrecking a real Rc like Traxxas ect... and losing interest because they had to spend extra money fixing something they really didn’t get to enjoy before truly understanding it 1st ! But I don’t ever think that the Chinese Rc’s will ever replace top notch Rc’s because the Chinese stuff aren’t even close to the type of Rc quality you get from the top Rc builders , and overall the Chinese Rc’s aren’t far off the top Rc prices , so you really do get what you pay for when it comes to buying 1 from the top Rc builders ! Keep up the Great vids ! 👍✌️
Hey kev glad you made this vid like I asked about! *so the other day I was ramping my rustler like 8ft high and it was fine but yesterday I drove it off of a 2ft drop and the shocj broke LOL*
Mate the best cheap rc crawler I've ever bought is the ftx ravine it is so capable its mental for £100 I really dont think u can go wrong for price my sons absolutely love taking it out
Bought the hbx for my kid for Xmas, we both love it. Add extra wheel weight with wraps of solder around the rim helps stability. Mine climbs 54 degrees. Rc4wd tyre upgrade coming. Friend just got scx24 at over double the cost, we haven't had a competition yet!
I love your channel. Love the honesty and the joy I see in ur eyes when ur playing with them. I'm wondering how I could start testing rc cars like you do. Could you help me out
@@KevinTalbotTV ok. What kind of things do I need to start with? Like running cars, and bashing, and just testing? I just really love the hobby and would love to have the opportunity to try out other types like you do! And thank you for getting back to me on this!!
Chase Tucker I’m no expert at all, and am probably not qualified to give advice, but I’d imagine do everything, don’t specifically do one thing with your cars, do a variety of different things, like bashing, reviewing etc. hope this helps, but once again I’m no expert
Kev try upgrading the battery of the cheap big crawler the black one with twice the voltage of its stock battery I've tried it. It really moves a lot more and I can even get it up on its own if it is on sideways. Great Video by the way😁😁😁
Hey, A+ stuff! The cheap equipment draws people that wouldn't otherwise jump in. I'm dipping my toes today, just ordered an HBX Rampage and oil shocks, with plans to 'step up' to a WLToys 10428B this summer. After that I'll look at a nice crawler or buggy depending on how I most enjoy these in like, a year when I can afford it. Thanks for all your videos!
I agree with the end of the video Kev! Get into the hobby before they are scared off by high end prices! Every hobby is expensive so it not bad in the grand scheme of things.
Kevin's logic
$100 RC: why is this so expensive?
$450 RC: dirt cheap RC review!
Ikr
Their both expensive in a way
It’s all relative
Hahahahhah
So true
I got the HBX devistator bc of you and I LOVE IT!!! Thank you for the great recomondations

Can you find the absolute cheapest hobby grade RC, and put it against the most expensive toy grade RC.
Insect King can I repost this on his newest video? It’s a great idea and I’ll credit you.

the most expensive one i found is the losi 1:5, which he now has, but i have not found any cheap ones under 100€.
Yea that's a good idea
U can buy hospeed for 40$ and it's hobby grade
You have inspired me to get a trx4 with all these crawler vids and I actually did and its awesome😁 That was a great purchase.😄
This is basically TopGear in RC.
Hey kev just put a flysky radio and receiver to the off road rock crawler

Kev, there’s one awesome little budget crawler I’d LOVE to see your take on. It’s the ECX Temper gen 2!! Give it a try PLEASE!
I was just looking on amazon for a rock crawler like the 100$ one and I found the exact off road Jeep one for 130$😂
Bro Amazon tries it's best to shave money off of people
Lol
In the description it has the links to all of the products
Im looking at a clear body for a 16th slash $60 but for a 1/10 one its $35
Coulda got an Axial SCX24 for $110-$120, they have a ton of upgrades for them
I got the same set up on my crawler as the big offroad how do you make them water proof

How do u make a hardcore suspension for extreme off roading
Hi Kev. What is your opinion on the thunder tiger 1/12th Toyota Hilux as a budget crawler ?

HBX is really doing themselves proud. I own their 18859 and I’m about to buy a 2997a!
Can you take the body of the Red Devil and build that in to a capable mini/micro crawler? Would be amazing to see!
Hey Kev that little red crawler had a cool cafe on it you should do what you did to the mini grave diggers and make one off of that cage
I love the HBX stuff, we got a couple of Rampages and they kick ass. Even bring them to the skatepark with the xmaxx trucks
Have u tried the mn-99 d90 Kev?

Kev has little hands 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 cheers mate !!!!!👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🇺🇸🇺🇸
What size wheel nut does it come with because I just got one
The Devistator kinda looks like a MINI Raminator. And it rhymes!
you should build a proper crawling track for testing RC's l indoor project
Could you switch the wheels from the A959B with these wheels? It seems that the 959 would run better with these wheels.
Video idea, so you made a crawler do 40mph+ so why dont you make a basher into a crawler
@Colton Hamilton ye thats a good point
7:11 was it just me who cracked up when he said "last and least, the red devil"?
Do you think on the Devastator if you wanted to you could remove and swap the battery with a little bit of effort?
