    I can't thank you enough for the insights you share while going through these two books of scripture... as well as all the others. I WONDER at your ability to remember all the experience you have had and all the related remarks of modern prophets that you have heard or read and your ability to use them to re enforce or explain the teachings of the scriptures. I believe you are where you are and doing what you are doing for the benefit of the kingdom, God bless you for all the efforts you (and your family) make to enable this service.       We are witnessing our instructor modify his content and approach because at times the spirit influences him to add, expand, or include relevant information. We are told that one of the responsibilities of the Holy Ghost is to bring all things into our remembrance. And so it is for bot student and teacher. I’m grateful that Bro H has accumulated many experiences that are relevant enough for the Spirit to remind him of connection. I hope that we each might listen with such concentration. In addition, it is said that one minute in planning or preparing saves ten minutes in execution. So a 3-hour lesson must take much preparatory effort.

    Today as I listened, it occurred to me that there is power in reading my patriarchal blessing. It is a rememberance of what God has promised me and what is expected of me to realize those promises.
    It had been a while since I last read my blessing, and so I pulled it out and read it yesterday. It was like finding the book of the law in the temple. Thank you brother Halverson for the narrative you have provided. Reading the old testament without a narrative such as this, would be fruitless.

    You talked about Hezakiah trusting too much, which brought up to me about a time I was too trusting in my business. The consequence was a Job experience. I lost everything, including my marriage.
    The message I heard from this podcast was that it was necessary for Hezakiah. It was necessary for Job. It was necessary for me. I have been greatly blessed since. There are times it still hurts, and I just have to let it go.

We have the help of the Spirit and also the power of the spirit resting upon you as you teach the Word of God, adding personal experiences, powerful experiences of others, and bringing a follow-through to your inauguration of the UnShaken channel to add confidence, knowledge, and hope to our journey.     I had forgotten the miracle of God moving the sun to add more time. I am a recipient of many blessings over many years. I see the same thing in the lives of my children. Thankfully they know of the goodness of God.

    Your podcast have enlightened us so much.
    I "read" listened to the entire OT 4 years ago, and along with that lostened partially to Charles Smith (a christen minister speaker who went verse by verse.) Learning so much, adding to my learning of the OT from over the years. Your excellent teaching, knowledge AND relation to our day and lives adds so much to our understanding.

My Jewish friend just informed our missionaries that she wants to be baptized on the 23rd of July! Ever since April general conference she has been absolutely enthralled and been listening to your classes religiously and if there's any possibility that you and your darling Emily and your family could come to Bountiful for that wonderful amazing occasion you would be so welcome! My son was your student at the U and that's how I became your student as well when you launched your RUclips channel 2 years ago! And yesterday we got a new bishop who was also one of your students in your seminary classes years ago! Please contact my son via email if it is at all a possibility!       It’s uplifting to realize how powerful the study of the scriptures can be for investigators and for all of us. Let your Jewish friend know how significant her transition is. In fact, it will be a great blessing to her and her family if she keeps an accurate journal that includes the shifts in thinking as well as documents the moments of light that seal in her testimony while simultaneously helping another improve their faith.     I have been blessed to have always had the gospel as a part of my life. (My 70th baptismal anniversary was Jan 5). I have read the standard works multiple times but there is always another layer in this gospel onion. I learn so much from your and others' podcasts! Thank you for sharing your knowledge, experience, and testimony with me!!!
    I would like to share with you a poem I discovered as a high school junior in English Lit class. I promptly fell in love with it, and have a copy in my scriptures in 2 Kings, 2 Chronicles, and Isaiah. It is entitled The Destruction of Sennacherib by George Gordon, Lord Byron. It is beautiful and easily found on the internet, but a bit long for this comment section.

    1:05:06...Through the dark night of the soul... it's just passing cloud cover when God just wants to see what's in our soul when we think we're alone... That is a reassuring comfort when the guidance, answers and direction don't come. He has so often in the past provided that direction. The silence is disconcerting. And I know it isn't because He doesn't care. But I came to the conclusion that in those times, sometimes "it mattereth not" to Him and maybe He just wants me to choose. So, I choose. I choose to serve Him in the best way I can where He has planted me at this season of my life in helping my Hispanic brothers and sisters with their Temple and Family History work. And this is what I will do until He nudges me forward, onto another path. I wait upon my Lord, always.

    I've been a ittle surprised at what I've learned with your lessons. I knew I'd learn more about the O.T (which has been awesome!), but I didn't realize the impact it would have on me personally.       @@cindysteenblik8255 I just figured that out myself. For me, 1.75 is a little fast sometimes, but 1.5 is very easy to listen to. I have even tried 2.0, at that is a bit fast.

    We love your broadcast. Watch it every week. I have only one comment…. You mentioned one of the kings sacrificing his son…. Putting him through the fire does not necessarily mean that the son was sacrificed. Moloch or Molech was an idol god that sat upright with his two brass hands in front of him faced upwards. The priests of Moloch would light fires underneath the brass hands until the hands were very hot. Devotees would then walk or run as best they could across the hands. Some succumbed and died but others would make it across the hand. Similar ‘walking on hot coals’ is practiced today in some cultures to express devotion or prove themselves in religious practices.

    I've read several of Margaret Barker's books regarding the First Temple and the Deuteronomic reforms. Do you have any thoughts on her thesis of the reforms removing much legitimate temple worship as we would recognize?

    Thank you so much for your inspired commentary. It promotes pondering and searching. A question came up for me. In 2 Kings 24:10 - 16 Nebuchadnezzar sacks Jerusalem and carries out of the city all the royals, skilled artisans of every type, and military. And then places Zedekiah to reign over the "poorest sort of people" who were left. As Lehi prophesies unto the people in Jerusalem, they mock him. in 1 Nephi 17 Laman and Lemuel complain how righteous the people in Jerusalem are. Wouldn't Nebuchadnezzar's forces have taken Lehi to Babylon right before putting Zedekiah in charge? Wouldn't the people left in Jerusalem have been somewhat humbled due to all those who were exiled? Thanks for your help with this!

    In one of your videos you talked about something you learned from a bishop about extending callings. I am in week two as 1st Counselor in our Bishopric. I told my Bishop about that segment and he asked me to send him a clip. I have no idea which lesson/video it was in. Help please.     Regarding Hezekiah’s tunnel:
    Bible dictionary: Workmen dug from both ends, in a **zig-zag** course, until they met. A dramatic account of the meeting of the workmen is told by an inscription carved in stone near the Siloam end of the tunnel. It reads: “The boring through is completed. Now this is the story of the boring through. While the workmen were still lifting pick to pick, each toward his neighbor, and while three cubits remained to be cut through, each heard the voice of the other who called his neighbor, since there was a crevice in the rock on the right side. And on the day of the boring through the stonecutters struck, each to meet his fellow, pick to pick, and there flowed the waters to the pool for a thousand and two hundred cubits, and a hundred cubits was the height of the rock above the heads of the stonecutters.”
    The inscription has been removed from its original location and is now kept in the Turkish Archaeological Museum at Istanbul. The tunnel is still in use today.

    Hezekiah is allowed 15 more years of mortality and his son is born during that time…makes me wonder if Hezekiah ever thought, “I shouldn’t have asked,” when hearing about his son’s wickedness (while rolling in his grave). 🤔

    The Law that was established in the Old Testament was set up for people to see their sinfull condition, they were not able to keep the law because they could not keep it by their own efforts. For they being ignorant of Gods righteousness and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God, Romans 10:3. God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law to redeem those under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. New laws are not needed. Gods glory worked through Jesus so we might have His righteousness, the law was no longer needed, we now have Jesus the Christ our Priest and mediator.

    Is it possible that some hid this book, for what reason? To make it easier to bring in idols of other God's into the Lords 🕍
