    Show us how you clean your tank sand bed. I have a little trouble doing mine and it is nothing like yours. You have one of the best tanks on RUclips !!

    Great video. I started using a Reef Octopus calcium reactor 6 months ago. Been reefing for 20 years and was always intimidated by them but when the kamoer pump came out it changed the game. You are right once you get past the setup and understand the adjustments it's easier than easy. I have not touched the thing in 3 months.

    Good video man! Welcome to calcium reactors! I’ve had mine running for about 6 weeks and love it so far! Looking forward to your take on dialing in the reactor and yes, I stayed to the end! 👍🏼

    What is so funny is for whatever reason calcium reactors over the last 25 years have become not as popular.as dosing say ESV ? And in my experience of over 30 years always wondered why. Since I've been using one for about 25 years. So glad to see old school resurfacing to New school reefers. It is indeed the secret sauce.

    Big Problem using that regulator, I tried to use that one and found out it IS NOT designed to for any back pressure. What happens eventually is the solenoid will stick open or closed. Use a Carbon doser instead.

    I have one question, if you using the Komoer pull water from the reactor to the sump, the reactor is just feeding water by pressure.? No other pump is injecting water from the tank in to the reactor? Except for the re circulation pump
    Thanks I will be sitting mine up this week just want to clear that question since i also see other set up using and aqualifter to get water in to the reactor

  • @amirafiq7191

  • @markweldon744

    Have you ever have a problem where the kamoer is picking up air bubble from the sump creating air bubbles in the calcium reactor??

  • @kellyvb9881
    @kellyvb9881 5 лет назад +1

    DON'T USE that regulator for a Calc Reactor. It is not designed for any back pressure. Ask me how I know? The solenoid WILL eventually sick either closed or open. I went through 3 of them. Do yourself a favor and get the Carbondoser regulator

    I have a similar set up (reactor w/ secondary chamber). Did you have any issues priming the system? I am have issues pulling water from the tank into the reactor. I too have a kamoer and it is not drawing water in from the secondary chamber. Thanks for any advise. Awesome channel btw!

    Thanks for the awesome video. Did you remove the pre filter sponge on the T1 carx? Also, where did you get the shelf for the Kamoer? I'm looking for ways to mount the pump above the waterline of my sump. TIA.

    The tank is beautiful! What do you run on your filter for the water to be clear

    • @eatsleepreef9565
      @eatsleepreef9565  5 лет назад +2

      The clarity gets better ad tank matures typically after 1yr. Carbon helps but age is the best.

    Hey buddy what cabinet is this with the reactor is in

  • @traianboala3798
    @traianboala3798 5 лет назад +1

    Now, with the calcium reactor, do you still don't do any water changes? Is so, you will mentain Red Sea Colors dosing? I'm thinking of using a CaRx myself, but will have to figure out the minor/trace elements replenish... or do water changes. Thanks for all your videos. Thay are so informative and everything is logically explained. Oh... and your tank is like from another world... but you know that 😉

    • @eatsleepreef9565
      @eatsleepreef9565  5 лет назад

      Thabks so much for the kind words. As far as trace elements I am still doing Red Sea colors. When it runs out I will stop it just to see how the tank reacts. Maybe one water change ever 3 months

    How did you get the kamoer to initially prime the entire system? I hooked mine up the exact same way, exact same equipt... but cannot get the Kamoer to begin pulling water through the entire system. Are you using any feed pump, or at least initially to get air bubbles out at the beginning?

    I had a question what size ro tubing are you using? 1/4, 3/8?

  • @4rdzlla
    @4rdzlla 3 года назад

    Confused on ca reactor. Isn't their a pump built in to the reactor to put water through the reactor and the dosing pump pushes it to the tank. Or is that dosing pump puts water in the reactor and feeds it to tank. Just wondering how many outlets I need

    • @eatsleepreef9565
      @eatsleepreef9565  3 года назад

      The reactor has a pump to stir it form within and then you need a separate one to feed water from the tank. Generally people will use a doser for this

    Hi everyone! I just have a friendly reefer question...Does anyone know how to eliminate/remove diatoms on the live rock and sand? I’ve had the tank for about 3 weeks and it’s cycle is done. I have 1 clownfish and he’s doing great. Just those diatoms are spreading on my sand when the light is on

    • @eatsleepreef9565
      @eatsleepreef9565  5 лет назад

      Tank is still way too new so it is normal. Keep up with your bi weeks water charges he’s and keep feeding down to a minimum. It will go away just give it time and DO NOT RUSH OR BE IMPATIENT

    • @Mitch_B
      @Mitch_B 5 лет назад

      EAT SLEEP Reef, ok, thank you for the response! I have been keeping the feeding lower and the water changes are on point. I also just bought a few snails which should in theory should help

    What rector are you using main and the second

    • @eatsleepreef9565
      @eatsleepreef9565  5 лет назад

      The main is a modified T1. If you can go with a GEO Reactor. Affordable and solid. The secondary is a Avast marine

    • @marcoalmenares1015
      @marcoalmenares1015 5 лет назад

      Who makes the T1

  • @mattarruda
    @mattarruda 5 лет назад

    No matter how many videos I watch the calcium reactor seems so complex. I know once it’s set it’s easy but from all these videos trying to explain how it works it definitely isn’t easy to understand.
