right. i miss the 3d era mortal kombat games, they had this menacing, ominous, eerie, dark surreal atmosphere and vibe to them. the newer games completely lost this feeling. this is what mortal kombat truly is.

Goro and Johnny Cage's just feels scaringly ominous because of the glowing Oni eyes in Goro's Lair, after the release of MK Shaolin Monks last year in 2005.

I think the best one is Shang Tsung with zombie Liu Kang because Shang Tsung is looking over his shoulder acknowledging that he's there where as all of the other ones the person is just kind of there in the background oddly enough it's the only one that does this. Even though the three new ones in the Wii version are cool, you can tell they were made in a hurry, some textures and effects are very bad compared to the originals. By far, the best addition was Cyrax and Sektor, even though they lost quality, the aesthetics and effects were actually good, especially the eye effect. I miss how the franchise was darker and more atmospheric, the current games are good, but they lack a lot of passion that was put into the old ones.
I really think it would've made a great substitute to have Cyrax be the one shooting down Sektor's warship rather than Sonya, because Cyrax is never given the depth he deserves in both timelines. Potentially you could have fought Cyrax and Sektor in the same part of the story. Cyrax would be on Sektor's ship and first you would fight him thinking he was tekunin, but you ally with him and he guides you through ship to battle Sektor. And uhh there's no saving second timeline Cyrax.

Hell, he was more jacked than Scorpion in Armageddon. You would think Ed Boon would make Scorpion more jacked, knowing that’s his favorite character.
