- Marvel's Spider-Man is one of those games that just feels great to play, and even better to speedrun. The movement and mechanics combine perfectly with the speedrunning strats, and it makes a super cool, but also very difficult speedrun

I find it funny that the person trying to describe how to beat the game as quickly as possible effectively explaining me the plot better than anyone else has
I’ve played this game so many times, but I never knew you could enter the warehouse through the ceiling (8:58). I always entered through the vent in the back.
I’m pretty sure that’s only in the remastered version of the game, I tried it on my ps4 version and it didn’t work :/

The part where miles meets rhino is the scariest gameplay in my opinion. Bc hes a literal tank and can kill a child with a single ram

It makes the opening of the Miles game better since you're now playing as Miles fighting Rhino and take him down easier than Peter can with the Venom punch

On the surface this is a kickass speedrun, but this also ended up being a really fun abridged synopsis of the plot 😂

unfortunately this game and miles morales' have a ton of unskippable cutscenes and free time so not too many ppl speedrun them :(
In the middle of trying to find my disc because I have every single trophy including the dlc’s and platinum except for the one for beating an ng+ playthrough and I remember being close so I’ll just finish it

I've beat this game 4 times and I didn't even think about how the "kill some time" sections would affect the speedrun until you mentioned it
This game was so well polished I didn't even know it had glitches to the point of being able to skip portions

Fun note, shocker doesn't have electrical powers... he wears gauntlets that used concentrated compressed air to cause shockwaves.
I love the fact that despite the Speedrun, he still explains the plot and also gives tips on how to defeat the bosses
Odd that he is speedrunning this game he isnt really the type of person to be speedrunning a AAA game but still glad he made a video on one of my favorite games

I never knew that the puzzles could be skipped. That is a lifesaver for when I replay the game. Though I havent had blind AI during stealth, some missions I have had to do over and over again.

Come to think of it, one thing came to mind during watching this about the game.
Spidey's regular webshooters in game are only able to web up a few enemies in like half a minute before needing to wait a while to recharge/reload, yet in cutscenes/QTEs he's able to web up an entire freaking crane in a fraction of the time with no reload whatsoever with way more shots.
If we don't get those magic webs in the coming sequel, I'm gonna feel very cheated if we aren't even getting a cheat code.
It would be awesome if they add cheat codes back. Just for stupidity and fun. Like, yiur model is replaced by any npc model or a prop. Enemies can super jump. The floor is lava

I mean that's really just for gameplay purposes. Stuff like that has always been a thing. I mean, really, can you believe that Spider-Man can just launch people in the air that high with an uppercut without killing them? Or that he somehow attaches webs to them that automatically sticks to a wall so that they don't fall to their death? There's always been a separation to gameplay and storyline
@@larajamila005 Actually it's not out the question that the devs would allow something like that.
There was actually work being done on a prototype for a Tobey Maguire Spider-Man 4 game, the prototype is even able to be found on the internet and everything, and in that prototype one of the things that was being added was the ability to dynamically web up and disable enemies and even vehicles like helicopters, it's unfortunate that it never made the light of day, but I wouldn't put it past the devs to add concepts like that to future games.
It's obviously very rudimentary compared to Spider-Man PS4 since it was years ago, but I highly recommend you look up a video of it "Spider-Man 4 prototype".
I bet there's something in the settings to turn off gameplay, that way it will just become a giant unskippable cutscene, saving us a couple minutes

Edit: Also the prisoners at Rikers aren't convicts. Rikers is a jail, not a prison, which means it houses those awaiting trial or in jail for misdemeanor crimes with sentences of one year or less.

Actually surprisingly enough Shocker does not have electricity powers, his powers are sound based, more specifically he can make shock waves with sound (thus the name)

Fun fact the 4x damage boost allows you to almost skip the rhino,scorpion,electro and vulture fight

so speedruns of this game are basically: ignore your friends, skip cutscenes, go fast
Just speedran the Rhino + Scorpion fight, and I think it's faster to get Rhino to beat Scorpion for you. Basically, you can get Rhino to run into Scorpion. Do that twice, and he's down. Then, for Rhino, I used the Battle Focus ability since the finishers can be banked past cutscenes, unlike suit abilities once they've been activated. Hitting Rhino with the hanging crates is recommended since they slow down time (unlike the crates you have to slide off), making them easier. As for beating up Rhino, punch until you do a kick, then use the finisher from the suit ability. You'll have to use it twice in both phase 1 and phase 2. With all of this, I beat them in less than 2 minutes, and I didn't skip the Scorpion intro cutscene, and I didn't have the Full-Charge Capacitors equipped (though I did have the Discharge Power Cells)
NOTE: Take all of this with a pinch of salt since I was in New Game Plus from my previous New Game Plus. So, I'm a bit more powerful than a first-time playthrough.😅

This speedrun seems way easier than I expected. It's basically just normally playing the game fast for most of it. No special tricks after fisk's mission.
