My personal favourite reference in this game is to Carnage. Once you conplete the flame side missions, theres a cutscene that plays where it reveals that Carnage exists as well as Cletus Kasidy who takes on the name "The Flame". I went nuts when i found out about this.
My fav easier egg is the god of symbiotes Knull refrences with miles having the king of darkness suit, venom getting his wings, and the infected having knulls symbol.

I know this is dark but I want Carnage to eat Miles mom since in the Absolute Carnage universe Miles mom was ate by Venom and making Miles traumatized and have a huge hatred for symbiotes. Having Carnage play that role would be great but that's wishful thinking lol
If you do the side mission where Teo and his cat Spiderman are in the park, you can wear Miles's suit with the backpack and Spiderman won't be in his backpack since he's near Teo

There is actually a reference to spider man 3 during the photo help side mission and in it during a flash back while Peter is fighting muggers he says “I WILL PUT DIRT IN YOUR EYES IF YOU DONT STOP” anyways i just wanted to share that lol.
Man, it’s a good time to be a Spider-Man fan. He’s been my favorite comic book character since I was a kid… I’ve been waiting 20 years for these games, and they’ve been worth every minute.
I honestly don't know how anyone could skip all the Coney Island activities. It was one of the best highlights of the game for me. Plus Peter earned a night off.
My game is kinda broken some of the qte’s dont work and neither does the mini games I checked the settings but yeah so I missed all the coney island games because it was just watching animations and i had no control and seeing how other players could do it and mine obvs couldn’t was off putting- the rest of the game is playable but yeah.

One easter egg that you missed is that in the first Hunter Blind mission you do, you can find a file that talks about Farley Stillwell, who is the scientist who made Mac Gargan into Scorpion in the comics. Also in that file, you can find references to Madripoor (an actual Marvel location from the comics that has also appeared in Falcon & the Winter Soldier) & Trask Industries (the company of Bolivar Trask, the man who would create the Sentinels in the X-Men comics).
*SPOILERS* 7:22 It isnt a simple tribute, the ending cutscene has them reveal the G serum, plus when Peter, MJ and Miles are planning to destroy the meteorite, the board game piece used to represent Harry is a Goblin.
At the end of the Talon Drone Mission. You’ll be in a penthouse, there’s a piano you can interact with by shooting a web at it. By doing so, the piano plays the theme that is played at the beginning of Spider-Man: Web of Shadows. The easter egg is pretty cool since Web of Shadows also involved the symbiote.
You dont have to shoot a web at it. It'll play if you walk up to it while "C" isnt talking. But I think it makes more sense for it to be triggered with a web
No one seemed to catch ,when MJ , Pete & Miles are making the plan to catch Harry(Venom) the little character they used on the map for Harry was a goblin, which I think is a nod to Harry becoming hobgoblin in the comics.
Also the red smoke coming from Norman's mouth on the mural is also a reference to Red Goblin, when Green Goblin bonded with the Carnage Symbiote and one of the Red Goblin's features was flames and smoke bellowing from his mouth.

The baseball stadium depicted in SM2 is called “MCU Park” in real life. It’s the home of our beloved Brooklyn Cyclones so most Brooklyn people just call it “Cyclone Stadium”. I’m not a huge baseball fan but I’ve gone to games there numerous times since I was a kid and I love going, it feels like home to me. Insomniac did an awesome job recreating the stadium almost brick for brick. As someone who has moved away from home, being able to go to Coney Island whenever I want helps my home sickness, thanks Insomniac!
Another cool easter egg is how the Jewish NPC’s disappear on Saturdays(The Sabbath). They stay at home and rest in the game. They also wear the Kippah(the small hat) & they have side locks(also called Payot or Payos. Really nice detail added in Spiderman 2). This cool detail with the NPCs was in the first game and I think the same thing happens in Spider-Man 2.
The green goblin mask being on the side of the bin is a reference to No Way Home where Norman as he comes into Peter's world via Strange's botched spell (thanks to Peter) smashes the mask but also hangs it on the side of the bin.
Also, at some point Peter says:" Gentlemen start your engine and may the best spider win". Clearly a reference to RuPauls Drag Race. Absolutely loved that joke when I heard it.
Really wish people would stop to think for longer than two seconds so they'd realize that they're not going to overshadow the Green Goblin's debut (an appearance three games in the making, mind you), by throwing a symbiote on him. Symbiotes will not be involved in the third installment. The most we'll see of them post Spider-Man 2's main campaign is in the DLC via Carnage. Green Goblin will undoubtably be the main villain of the next mainline entry of Insomniac's run, but it will be just that- the GREEN Goblin.
The mural with Norman with devil horns and red breath is a reference to the first game. He created a substance called “Devil’s Breath”, which caused a city-wide pandemic. Everyone blames Norman for it, and the mural has him depicted in that way, with the red breath being the same color as Devil’s Breath. And also, in his penthouse, he did have a prototype helmet and in his lab, he had pumpkin bombs. So your theory about him being the villain in the next game is still valid.

Found a nice little nod at the old Spider-Man 2 game pizza mission. Not sure how well known this little easter egg is, but if you go to the Pizza Amigos parlor in Astoria, the song from the pizza delivery mission is playing. If you open the map and close out, it switches between a few different tracks.
During the first Brooklyn side quest, while trying to get a closer look into the conversation between the cop and principal, you can find a Miles Plush stuck in the fence.
There’s a scene which is a call back to one of the trailers from the first Spider-man game where miles enters Peter’s mind and gets knocked down levels by past villains. The trailer is called SpiderMan Be Greater.
It’s well known that Miles wears Adidas trainers with his causal clothes / some of his outfits, so that’s probably why the brand is included in the game. But, sometimes you can see NPCs walking around wearing the Adidas clothing on show in the Adidas store in Time’s Square!
I had a glitch while playing as miles, where one of his suits is a tiny cube, and when I put the suit on, I was swinging gliding around as a tiny cube😂
Also, when we are playing throughout the mission "Roll Like We Used To",Harry gets on the speaker and sings never gonna give you up and rickrolling us. Insomniac really got us. ❤😂
The baseball one is extra hilarious to me because Peter and Miles exclaim their own last names while in costume. Better hope no one was near enough to the stadium to hear that.

what's also pretty cool is that in miles room he has the same comic book issue in his closet. Its a lot easier to see in photo mode but I'd like to think that was his way of learning what he can do with his powers (if I'm wrong which I most likely am don't come at me, still new to the spider-verse fandom and I'm seriously loving it)

I don't know if anyone else would agree, buy when Harry becomes Venom and we get to play as him. That entire sequence until he jumps on a helicopter looks like a reference to Hulk's helicarrier scene from Avengers-1. They just replaced the quinjet with a helicopter.
Am I the only one who never had Peter jump in to help Miles with the random crimes? When playing as Peter, Miles would sometimes show up but never the other way round through my entire playthrough.
I think there were multiple moments in the game when peter would be unavailable to show up cause i definitely noticed a difference in spawn rate during certain chapters

There is also the ester egg when you search for dr connotes in his sewer lab you can see a container (possibly of symbiot but it’s empty ) but there is a note on that that that says “nnm 252” and when I looked it up (under the category of spider-man) i found out that is a reference to the first appearance of the black suit

Yes,only that Harry becomes the Green Goblin. The Hobgoblin is another villain,and Harry only dons the suit in the 2017 tv series.

Found a nice little nod at the old Spider-Man 2 game pizza mission. Not sure how well known this little easter egg is, but if you go to the Pizza Amigos parlor in Astoria, the song from the pizza delivery mission is playing.
If you open the map and close out, it switches between a few different tracks.

It was also in the first game as well.
During the first Brooklyn side quest, while trying to get a closer look into the conversation between the cop and principal, you can find a Miles Plush stuck in the fence.

There’s a scene which is a call back to one of the trailers from the first Spider-man game where miles enters Peter’s mind and gets knocked down levels by past villains. The trailer is called SpiderMan Be Greater.

It’s well known that Miles wears Adidas trainers with his causal clothes / some of his outfits, so that’s probably why the brand is included in the game.
But, sometimes you can see NPCs walking around wearing the Adidas clothing on show in the Adidas store in Time’s Square!
I had a glitch while playing as miles, where one of his suits is a tiny cube, and when I put the suit on, I was swinging gliding around as a tiny cube😂
was the cube a light blue? because if so, then it might be the award that He and Phin won at the science fair

Also, when we are playing throughout the mission "Roll Like We Used To",Harry gets on the speaker and sings never gonna give you up and rickrolling us. Insomniac really got us. ❤😂
The baseball one is extra hilarious to me because Peter and Miles exclaim their own last names while in costume. Better hope no one was near enough to the stadium to hear that.

what's also pretty cool is that in miles room he has the same comic book issue in his closet. Its a lot easier to see in photo mode but I'd like to think that was his way of learning what he can do with his powers (if I'm wrong which I most likely am don't come at me, still new to the spider-verse fandom and I'm seriously loving it)

There was one secret that you missed that was when you finish all the indented find target missions you go to the apartment of the target and play the piano and I’ll be a reference to shatter dimensions when you here it.

The best Peter quip in the game was when he fights the hunter with a bear skin. He tells him he haves no honey. Which is super funnny cause spider man just stares at him without saying anything for a few seconds.

You missed the sonic reference during one of the extra academy quests as Miles, which is called Lights, Camera, Action like the Studiopolis Act 1 Music, and I think the Npc has the voice actor of Tails
Only thing that killed it for me was every cutscene would have your suit in. But certain ones it would change back to the original one

I don't know if anyone else would agree, buy when Harry becomes Venom and we get to play as him. That entire sequence until he jumps on a helicopter looks like a reference to Hulk's helicarrier scene from Avengers-1. They just replaced the quinjet with a helicopter.

Am I the only one who never had Peter jump in to help Miles with the random crimes? When playing as Peter, Miles would sometimes show up but never the other way round through my entire playthrough.
Idk I've even had moment where I've found miles fighting a group of villians and helped him myself

I think there were multiple moments in the game when peter would be unavailable to show up cause i definitely noticed a difference in spawn rate during certain chapters
He didn’t very often but he did for me. Wraith & Harry as Agent Venom both also showed up when I was Miles
Another tiny detail. If u have the superior spiderman suit on. The tentacles change color to red, matching the suit in the comic books. Thats some real fan loyalty

This game was awesome. A little bugs here and there there but it was such a good game. I hope they have a DLC. They did Kraven and Venom so well.

There is also the ester egg when you search for dr connotes in his sewer lab you can see a container (possibly of symbiot but it’s empty ) but there is a note on that that that says “nnm 252” and when I looked it up (under the category of spider-man) i found out that is a reference to the first appearance of the black suit
