I love playing CB and man to man But I line up at safety a lot too, usually if we need to double up a taller/faster receiver that’s where I get put and we put another dude at CB
oh so your kinda that flex nickelback guy, nice i was nickelback/safety/cornerback/linebacker/ D linement in high school, i was so atheltic that i was able to play every defense position
Thanks for the vid I recently switched from running back to safety and I'm currently in middle school so I need more info on defense and exactly how to play safety
as a kid i loved running backs and always wanted to play that position when i signed up for park ball. now that i’m older i hold the safety position closest to my heart.
Read where the QB is throwing to, your job is to stop yardage or to intercept the ball when you get the chance. You leave the guarding the receiver to your cornerback. You’re the safety.. you’re the last defender .. you’re the guy that’s gonna knock the dude off his ass.
think bout this, your the last one and if you dont do it right the world will end, you have to make sure every enemy is on your sight at all times and make sure you have the speed to go acrros the field to cover or get picks and have that tackling or strong skills to knock recivers or runners down
What I do is keep the QB in my main sight at all times. The WRs are in your peripheral . You make sure that vertically theres no less than 5 yards between you and the deepest WR. You keep everyone else in your peripheral until the ball is thrown. At that point you follow the ball
i play FS and our team does only zone and the LOLB is considerd a "WS" and then you have SS they cover flats i cover middle and follow QB eyes of course and CB got deep thirds then linebackers are run support and they watch line men to see if there heads pop up.
@@jacktem1 thanks for the love I love my uncle Danny Copeland I was at the Super Bowl with him I was 11 now I'm 40 thanks for reply means alot take care.
Great video. The strong safety would line up to the strong side if even then wide side. And we were called Rovers in the Oklahomo 52 defence terminology. Could you do a show on the Delaware Wing?
Cover his zone/man first then play fast downhill toward the run. Best thing to teach him at that level is angles toward to the ball carrier and how to tackle safely running at full speed
Strong safety supposed to be on strong side of field tho. You explained it wrong cause by your way, if I'm the opposing coach, I'm going to torch your LB covering my WR. Details matter
Blitz with intention two high safety's crack and and cankles keep it hot helmet to helmet 70s style hit high have no mercy because our forefathers knew what's up

if ima safety, am i supposed to read what the qb is throwing to or what routes the wr are doing?? it’ll mean a lot if sumone replies

I would check the routes first, then read the quarterback. If it's a short route, it'll help you break on it faster and cut the angle off.

@@oliverstrzelczyk1541 i say dont always have eyes on the qb but switch around your vision, also suggest moving a bunch of times to confuse the enemy

On a cover 2 type defense would a safety pick up somebody running a post or would the outside line backer
How about videos like cover 3,4,and 6 and split field safety coverage
Awesome explanation!!!
Great video it was posted on my Birthday literally and my uncle Danny Copeland number 26 for Reskins played this position.
Yo that’s sick, and i just looked it up, he started in and won a super bowl, that’s actually awesome

Does the Free safety usually cover the Wide receivers, and the Strong Safety cover the Tight Ends and Running backs?
yes
Yes
Love these videos
Thank you Zachary! Glad you're enjoying them

Thank you I really helped 👍🏽
Can you make a video on the 46 defense?

I’m 5’7 and 140 lbs, I’m fast, would I be a good safety. Be honest
100%! Work on your ball skills and open field tackling as well
Why are there only 2cbs when the offense is running a 3wr set?
thats how football works theres never less than or more than 2 cb's unless one is out because they arent paying attention
BECAUSE THAT LINE BACKER IS PROBABLY A HYBRID LINEBACKER WHO COULD PLAY NICKEL BACK
OR THAT RECEIVER IS MAD SLOW AND THEY DON'T FEEL THREATENED LMAO
I play both
I’m a free safety
my kid is starting at strong safety in his peewee league (3rd graders), what should he be looking to do at that level?

Same❤
I play strong saftey
Ok lol
I play free safety
Do you know what strong left and right means or is that just my school
Similar to what Sh0t said, it's typically the tight end side or it's either the passing strength
Currently watching this before I join the team 💀💀
Good luck this year!
Diss it matter if your in middle school cause the plays are a little different ?
where are the safeties supposed to stand?
Almost 20 yards off the line of scrimmage I think . A good 13 -15 . I’m never 20 yards away , it depends . But a little more than 10 yards
What program do you guys use?
After 5 months do you respond
@@travisavery7658 guess not
Best safety ever Krause and Reed Ball Hawking ability Taylor and Kam big hit ability Troy Polamalu IQ there are some more I’m forgetting 🤔🤔

Didn't know Cousin from The Bear knew so much about football
🤣 Great show! I'll take that as a compliment!
Are safeties still bouncing for their ready steps?!
They can, to get a read. Or they can slow backpedal or shuffle out
L
I like your video
I'm running to be a fs
Nigga watch your safety.
