  • This video breaks down how to have the most productive off-season possible as a basketball player. Summer is easily the best time to improve your game as a basketball player. If you're looking to take your game to another level this summer, this video will break down exactly how, from how to plan, schedule, and organize your workout for maximum improvement. My 5 major points are as follows.
    Have a damn plan and spend time making sure you are working on the right stuff.
    Plan your days around your workouts and have a scheduled off day.
    Ideally, go two days of solo work, two days of SSG with a partner or group, 1-2 days of pick-up and 1 off day.
    Start with less volume the first few weeks and ramp-up, then utilize more variability as you improve in desired areas. As the season roles around you can slowly add more block practice.
    last but not least. BE CONSISTENT. Week after week. Day after day.

      How long is the vacation? Not the worst thing to take a couple days off. Just plan it and use that as a down week and get back to work after

      @@tjltraining not sure exactly. Maybe like 2 weeks. But that was my plan. Have a little light body workout I can do a few times a week in the morning and then for skills if there is a court or a hoop I’ll get a lil workout in but if not just use it as rest and have some fun and then grind when I’m back. Thanks coach!

      @@tjltraininghey,
      I have the exact same problem. But we’ll be on vacation for 4 weeks and not just a few days and it’ll be very hot there. I planned to do some plyometrics and just some non weights workouts to keep myself fit but I probably won’t have access to a court or even a basketball since we won’t have enough space to bring one with me.

    You say you should do 90 minutes of hyperfocused workouts per day, but not more than that. Can I be working out for 90 minutes, taking a 30 minute break or something, and then getting back on the court but with a very light workout to like maybe work on my shooting form or something like that, something easy on the body? Is it too much for the body and I should just stick to 1h30 of basketball everyday or you just mean a 1h30 of intense workout?

    When should I be doing conditioning because I need that a lot

    • @tjltraining
      @tjltraining  Год назад

      You should be doing it when you workout for basketball. If you train the right way and play you shouldn’t need a lot of extra conditioning

      Whatever your most important skills or aspects of your game are, train it every day if you need to get better at ball handling do it every single day

    Coach what about many nba players who has practiced many hours in a day to get to that level? I’ve heard that going hard on training 2 hours at a time and having multiple sets in a day is fine as long as you get proper rest, sleep, diet and workout

    • @tjltraining
      @tjltraining  2 года назад +1

      I think 2 hours at a time is pushing it, usually see diminishing returns after 75 minutes or so based on focus. Can do a few sessions a day but it’s all about getting the most out of the least. After about 4 hours of workouts in a day may be doing more harm than good, all about training SMART
