  • This is my list of signs i would find useful for all restaurant workers to know to help deaf and hard of hearing have more access in restaurants i believe its even more important now because they cant even read lips with the masks on but remember notepads will also work if these are to hard to remember
these of course aren't every sign that would be useful at a restaurant but i use these the most and i couldn't think of any more lol
follow my Instagram to see pictures of my makeup looks and to be made aware of when new videos are posted hitting the notification bell will do that last part as well
and please make sure to like and subscribe
i am not an official asl interpreter i make these videos to the best of my knowledge i use sign.savvy and handspeak to correct and double check my signs

Used to know alot of sign language, years ago, but I've not used it in awhile.I have a couple that comes into my restaurant once every couple of weeks. They are the reason I'm trying to re- learn things. I always sign thank you and you're welcome, but I don't want to just keep giving them a notepad. I know their order by heart at this point, but I'd like to be able to actually welcome them and let them know I know their order. They usually come at the end of my shift, but sometimes get there a little before I get off and they are very kind, but rarely tip(I don't know their situation). Last time I waited on them, the husband came over to me and gave me 5 dollars and bowed his head to me and I almost started crying.
Just made me realize that sometimes, people just appreciate being seen, and I appreciated that gesture.

I work as a bartender and we have a large deaf clientele and i can finger spell pretty well along with a few other words. I tend to use it at least once a week, but I can’t read it that well because I’m not used to talking with someone. Im trying to learn a few more words and get better at being able to read it as well. Though I don’t hate that they can point to the menu or use their phones.

Thank you so much for this video! It really helped. Can you make another tutorial for takeout employees? To offer extra bread, sauces, plates, etc. thank you once again!

So, there is one sign I've been searching for that I can't seem to get in any of the videos about restaurant ASL. That's how to say 'table or booth'.

Some of your signs are different than what I've seen others use. Such as "received" and "who".

Too many signs I am not familiar with when I already know them. You are signing too different :( Are you making up your own signs?
